Fernando's place was beautiful and such a cozy place to stay. It was close to Quilotoa Lake and Cotopaxi, which we visited when staying with him. The area was very tranquil and calming, just what we needed after driving around and visiting multiple sites. He went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay and was extremely accommodating. The nearby restaurant that he recommended was delicious. Additionally, Fernando himself is an incredible and friendly host. He invited us to his lovely bar for drinks and we had a 2 hour long conversation with him despite our broken Spanish, which ended up becoming one of my favorite parts of our entire trip to Ecuador! I highly recommend staying with him when visiting this lovely country if the opportunity arises.

Pablo’s place was amazing! Highly recommended! We stayed at Pablo’s place for two nights to visit Cotopaxi National Park. The location was perfect, even accessible by bus from Quito / Latacunga. The park is just 15 minutes drive so you can easily catch a taxi to go there. Pablo was a great host, he is always responsive and very friendly! He gives me a lot of recommendations not only the area but also other places we are planning to visit in Ecuador. We loved talking with him ;) He organized a camp fire and also horse ride for us, which was such an experience! Will definitely come back one day !

Rural for sure, but good location for local peaks if you’ve got wheels.
