Church Bay

If you’re on the fence about stopping over in the secluded village of Hafnir for a lovely cottage stay, take the plunge. Charlotte‘s place was one of a kind. Off-the-beaten-path, with shabby-chic and funky furniture, thought-provoking art and sea views, this place is for open-minded travelers who are looking to immerse themselves in a truly authentic experience. Charlotte herself is an artist, and much of what is displayed on her walls are creations of her own. Things you’ll find here that are really great? A fantastic two-person tub with endless hot water. A super warm, well-insulated home. Three bedrooms (a twin memory-foam mattress downstairs, and two small bedrooms upstairs. One small twin, one full-sized bed ideal for a couple). And don’t forget the lovely upright piano and living area with a view of the sea. Pro tip? Hold on for dear life as you go up the steep staircase…and pretend you’re in a hobbit house while you do it! This rustic place is an amazing value and we loved it!

Converted Water Tower

The Converted Water Tower was beautiful and extremely fun. We had a great time seeing the northern lights and unique landscape and it was a convenient for all of our activities in the Reykjanes Peninsula and Reykjavik. The hosts were super responsive when we had a question a few weeks before our trip and again when they provided helpful check-in instructions.

Harbour View Grindavík by Blue Lagoon

WinnieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Cozy place to stay. The host was very nice to let us check in early. Everything was great in this cabin. Room was enough warm for this cold weather. Because of the volcanic eruption last year, there are no shop n supermarket open in here. We did prepare our foods to cook during our stay so we are fine. We drove out not far away there are an area displayed the poster to show when volcano eruption in this town. It’s a good to drive around this place to understand more it happened. Very good experience for us.
