Our cozy cottage now sits on hundreds of acres of ancient trees and emerging forest on a dry lake bottom with a picturesque river running through it. The cottage sits at the highest point on the river, with a deck & fire pit overlooking the river providing a breath taking view from sunrise to sunset! Theres a cozy loft for sleeping, and a sun room where you can relax and read all day long. 1/2mile away you have access to 100s of miles of trails for hiking and ATVs. Within a 45 minute drive you have Houghton Lake, smaller lakes, splash pads and casinos, something for the whole family.

Rustic Cabin Getaway

This Cabin is the perfect Up North getaway. It has been completely refinished with new rustic furniture throughout with a Queen in the master bedroom and a Queen over Queen bunk bed in the guest bedroom. It also has a futon in the living area for additional guests. Currently there is no water on Wixom lake

There were 4 adults staying for Labor Day weekend. We had more than enough room for all. We have vacationed together for years. We all agreed this was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. So well put together and everything you could ever need. The yard was beautiful, the deck had beautiful views of the lake. The furniture was very comfy and there was nothing more we could have wanted.

This was by far one of the best Airbnbs that we’ve ever rented. Thomas and Karen were kind and excellent hosts - their response times were lightening-fast, they answered all of our questions before booking, and addressed any minor issues we had during our 2-month stay quickly. They even sent us a baby bath for our infant son! Their home is comfy, spacious, and fully-stocked with essentials, linens, DVDS, and games for a comfortable stay. The kitchen especially has everything you could possibly need! The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. Our dog had lots of room to run in the backyard and beyond in the lake bed. Even without the lake, the view is scenic and feels very private. Thomas and Karen were so welcoming — we highly recommend their home!
