Brockram Barn is simply stunning. We had a wonderful family holiday - there was everything we could possibly want, and more! Of course, the hot tub and table tennis were fun extras, but Harriet had thought of everything and equipped the home to an extremely high standard and, as a family of five, we had plenty of space. We loved the area and did many of the suggested walks and activities, plus a few more! It was so good to be amongst the sheep, surrounded by green fields and wildlife with beautiful, ever-changing views. Thank you, Harriet and family, for a truly great time!

Absolutely stunning property, perfect for a family gathering. Great kitchen/dining space. Cozy living room and wonderful addition with the hot tub, sauna and pool table. Only a short drive to the shops in Kendal if you need food. We spent our time here with 4 children, 6 adults and a dog. There was space for everyone and felt like a home from home. We didn’t find it very easy to locate but only because WE didn’t read that the postcode wasn’t exact. Ensure you follow the instructions given. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this property.

I booked here for my partners 27th birthday, we took both of our doggies too and as soon as we walked in we felt instantly at home! The cottage was lovely and warm, very spacious and modern! The hot tub was out of this world! We really didn't want to leave. The views of the river and easily accessible for walks etc. The cottage had everything we needed and more, it really was the perfect start to the year, Becca and Chris were great hosts very friendly and responded to our queries quickly! We will definitely be back! Thanks again! Xxx

thanks so much to Elaine for her hospitality. the Lodge is lovely and cozy with lots of.space...and a tumble dryer for when it rained! the welcoming cakes were a.class touch and the host was able to respond quickly and efficiently to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year.

We spent a wonderful week in Mill Barn. Lots of small touches like flowers on arrival, brownies, milk in the fridge and the fire set up made the place really welcoming and inviting. Nice walk to the local pub but be prepared for the hill back up. Overall would highly recommend.

Just arrived home after 4 relaxing and peaceful nights. The house is situated on a farm but you wouldn’t know. Diccon showed us in when we arrived and was very welcoming and give us some advice on the surrounding area. If you’re looking to walk Hadrian’s wall this is the place, the path goes right past the farm. We did a really big walk on our 1st full day and walked all the way to Banks a little village which has part of the wall in it, on the way back we stopped in at Lanercost priory and tearoom, well worth a visit. About 8miles round trip. We then did a couple of smaller walks on the other days. Then ended each day enjoying the hot tub and managed a couple of starry nights. This is a great addition. Brampton is a nice little town with a great butchers and foodhall. Would recommend and definitely visit again. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

We had a great weekend at Fir Garth. The house was well equipped for our group of 10: Good sized en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and cosy duvets, a really well equipped kitchen ( we did lots of cooking), the main living was a great sized space, a projector, games, an extra snug room, outdoor space etc. The location was excellent, pub and shop within walking distance, excellent walks in the area, a beautiful view, quiet, easily accessible. We all agreed we would definitely come to the house again.

We had such an amazing stay! The place was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. The rooms were super clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils, and the host was simply fantastic—so supportive and kind throughout. But honestly, the highlight for us was the hot tub with that stunning view. It was the perfect way to unwind! Everything about the stay felt so thoughtful and well-prepared. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thank you for making our trip so special!

What a beautiful place Peter and Hilary have here. Such a comfortable home that they have opened up. Very welcoming but also very private. We lost all power due to the storm and Peter came across with candles for us. Thoughtful welcome pack for both humans and pooches too. It’s little touches like that that make a place. Think we’ve just found our new January get away. See you next year.

From the minute you walk into this cottage you feel right at home. It is a very cosy , welcoming and peaceful place,which has everything you need including a fantastic view over Ennerdale. Great walking right on the doorstep with the railway path down to Whitehaven and the local town 5 mins away. Highly recommended

A lovely little cottage in a central location. Immaculately clean and very welcoming. Sandra is an excellent host ,very quick to respond to messages . We also received a message early on our arrival day to say that the cottage was ready for us which was nice .

A beautiful house in a stunning location, could not think of anywhere better to spend New Year. The location was amazing, next door is currently being refurbished but this wasn’t a problem as it was the holidays, there were no workers on site. I can only imagine once this work is completed the property will be even more amazing than it is already. The gardens are magical, but the advice to be careful and watch small children is useful as it is steep and not suitable for everyone. It rained none stop while we were there (can’t help the weather) so the large hallway was great for drying the dogs snd leaving our mountain of coats, hats and boots. There was a small issue with the hot water but Kate responded immediately and sorted it out straight away. To top it off there were four separate firework displays in Grasmere which we could see from the front window, lighting up the lake. A brilliant New Year. We have already checked if it’s available for next year but someone beat us to it!

Amazing overnight stay. Beautiful surroundings, the food In the pub was incredible. Especially the pies! Will be back again for sure. Hosts and everyone were so friendly, even being our 2 big dogs it was a great stay.

great experience and lovely house. very comfortable bed and equipment. easy to find and enter by without any help. only problem is temperature in room is low in winter，and water is not very hot.

Me and my friends had a fantastic time in Windermere thanks to the location and space we had with Johns flat. We couldn't have asked for anything more to be honest, particularly considering the low price that was paid. Will definitely stay here again when we next come to visit!

Simon and Belinda were very responsive and helpful. The property was decorated very nice and mostly clean. Excellent location, no need to drive anywhere, pubs & the langdale hotel, as well as coffee shops and small co-op within walking distance. Great walks to Grasmere, Elterwater all from the house. Could have done with more logs so make sure to bring your own as it’s only a small basket provided. Higher expectations on guests hoovering the house/stripping beds etc before leaving than other places, although the house wasn’t super clean when we arrived. Parking is tough in Chapel Stile with most properties being holiday lets, the bonus of one parking space was handy but worth noting to find a second is difficult. Overall we had a great stay and loved the location, it was brilliant for walking and great size place for 4 people.

Great place to stay, has everything you need was clean & tidy, lovely sitting outside in the evenings with the fire pit, 5mins from Amberside town witch has everything you need, lovely walks round the area, would recommend highly.

Second time staying at Ecclerigg and was perfect again. Great property, perfect for families in a wonderful location. highly recommended!!

We had a great few days in this little house, and were able to explore a number of different beautiful locations from this spot. Recommended for hikers and walkers, although you will need a car as the location is pretty remote.

We love this place so much we've booked again for next Christmas. The lodge itself is equipped with more things than you have at home, it is very well appointed and you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. It is clean and beds very comfortable. The setting is beyond beautiful and we had a robin who called everyday, and a pair of deer who happily came into the bottom of the garden two of the days we were there. The Christmas decor made it extra Christmassy and my little boy soon made himself at home. With only a short walk away to Skelwith Bridge and the lovely Chesters by the River or a ten minute drive to Ambleside this is a perfect location for any couple or family wishing to relax. The owners had left us a bottle of prosecco upon arrival and gave clear and specific instructions of how to find the the lodge. A perfect retreat for a well earned relax. I'm so glad we found this little peace of heaven. Thank you Andy and Maggie.

Raphaela and Steve were very helpful and pleasant. They encouraged us to let them know when we needed something. The cottage has a great bathroom and well-appointed kitchen and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere—it’s so peaceful yet so close to amenities. And the grazing cows standing in the road to town were easily nudged with minimal mooing. We loved it!
