Vacation rentals with a kayak in Charlestown

Alexi's and Alan's place was amazing and they were really wonderful hosts. Very responsive and accommodating when possible. The house was super clean and immediately gave us a "homey" feeling. The house also was equipped with everything we might have needed. The ocean views are great. We would definitely come back!

This was the perfect place for three friends who write and workshop together online to gather in person. The main room of the house is filled with light and what I didn't realize from the listing is the beautiful view from the living/dining room down to the river. The kitchen is well supplied and every room was very clean and uncluttered. The three bedrooms on the first floor are all very nice, with good beds and pillows (one is slightly larger with a king-sized bed), so we were able to decide on our rooms painlessly and none of us had to settle for an inferior room. The large dining table was perfect for spreading out our work as well as for dining, and one of us enjoyed having the furnished basement as her private work space. When we had a problem with hearing a beeping noise, which we initially thought might be a smoke detector battery that needed replacing, Bob was very responsive and helpful in figuring out the cause of the beeping from a motion detector. We plan to come again.

Ann’s place is a must stay! We spent a relaxing weekend in this gorgeous home, overlooking an idyllic Mystic River. So conveniently located to more restaurants and shops than you could ever visit, and yet a world away set among the trees. This house is perfect for our family of three and we could have easily accommodated 2 more adults! The space is tranquil and spacious, and Ann provided some goodies (even for our son!) upon our arrival. The house is stocked with anything you could possibly need or want, inclusive of outdoor amenities. My husband and I are already looking to rebook…truly cannot recommend this stay enough!

Ashley’s home was just as described. No surprises. She was very responsive to a couple of questions I had. Right on the water with a great view from the deck and from the rooms. If you are into sun rises, this home is for you. Would definitely consider going back.

Laurie is a wonderful and generous host. Though we did not take advantage of it, she let us know that early check-in was possible on our arrival date. When we did arrive, we were greeted with a lovely care package of treats, including excellent treats for our dog. Really nice touches, and much appreciated. The space is clean and spacious, free of clutter, with a nice kitchen. We are especially grateful for pet-friendly hosts, and Laurie's place was truly excellent. Even non-pet people should find the space very suitable. There are no signs that other dogs had stayed there, the space, furniture and linens are all very clean. Great host, great place!

The house is so charming and peaceful. It was just what I was looking for to be close to family and get away from my own home where I also work. Lots of light, well decorated with a lovely view. Lauren was super responsive and very friendly.

This home was absolutely how it was described. Plenty of room for us and the finished basement with an extra bedroom, wet bar, huge flat screen, and a comfy couch was a bonus! My grandchildren hung put downstairs while the adults sat around the table and played card games. We were intrigued by the beautiful yard and lake. Everyone wants to come back in the summer to hang by the fireplace and BBQ on the deck. This is definitely one of my favorite Airbnb!! Joshua was very accommodating and responded quickly to my messages. Absolutely a beautiful place!!

Fantastic hosts. The house was immaculate. Great spot! Comfortable and quiet. Great communication. Made sure we were comfortable and made themselves available. Great kitchen area!

It was a very wonderful place to stay; a very nice cozy place for a few people to enjoy. Kayaking out back was great for anyone who wanted a nice chill day.

The place is beautiful! The river, the house is very comfortable. I felt safe and there was so much to do: hot tub, fireplace, grill, kayak, TV, enjoy the view, the peace around... I loved it and would definitely go back!

Our family spent the weekend at Great Gull's Air BNB and had a phenomenal weekend. It was a cozy place with a beautiful view of Mystic. Downtown was right down the street and we walked to dinner on Saturday. Plenty of amenities in case anything was forgotten when packing. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This is the absolute perfect home for a get away. Everything you need and more is provided. The home is gorgeous, well decorated, and extremely clean. It is even better than the pictures. It feels like a real home, with luxury and artistic touches, not a generically decorated place. Location is perfect, close to it all and still very private. Christopher is an excellent host, responsive, helpful, and gives you your privacy. I can't recommend staying here enough.

We were so happy with our stay. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our dog. The property was beautiful, and tranquil. The breakfast was delicious, the hosts were consistently available if needed and it was super close to so many things to do. We will definitely return.

We loved our stay at the cabin! It was clean, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and the location was beautiful. We stayed for a few days and celebrated our early family Christmas here. It ended up snowing, which made the surrounding Connecticut forest even more beautiful. We found the cabin cozy and peaceful, with the town just 10 minutes away for anything we’d need. I definitely plan to keep this listing in mind for next time I’m visiting family in Connecticut.

We convened with friends at this central location. We had such a great time, the place is just lovely. Very picturesque in the winter time. It must be absolutely beautiful during the summer. The place is fully stocked; the only thing we went out for was more firewood because we used the fireplace so much! It was just perfect. I think 8 people would be a little cramped to be all in the same space, but plenty of rooms to spread out in and ample sleeping space. The host was very responsive and was just wonderful.

Lee and Tracy's place felt like home the moment I walked in. It had everything I needed for my stay and more. The beds were so comfortable, it felt like I was sleeping on cloud 9. The neighborhood was pin drop quiet which is exactly what my overstimulated city ears needed. The washer and dryer are up to date which made doing laundry fun. Internet was fast and reliable. Shower had good pressure and reliable hot water. The living room was set up for cozy movie nights or game nights. All the equipment you need to bake, bbq or cook meals is available. I loved taking walks around the neighborhood. Everyone we encountered was so friendly. There is a small park nearby that is on the lake. At night you can see plenty of stars. I want to go back during the summer and use the kayaks or firepit. Such a great place for a relaxing getaway. Enjoyed my stay so much that I wanted to just buy the place and move in. Thank you for such a wonderful relaxing stay. Can't wait to go back.

Clean and cozy cabin. Close to Mystic without being right in the thick of it. We enjoyed a night by the fire with a friendly local fisherman. It worked nicely for our short trip to the area.

I didnt want to leave this little cabin in the woods. It felt rustic but had all the modern amenities you would expect in a home. From the rocking chairs on the porch to the comfy beds, there is nothing I could complain about, even if I tried. Marilyn gave excellent suggestions of places to eat and local current events. We left with fall apples, bellies full of clam chowder, and gigantic smiles!!! We have already started planning our return!

Absolutely perfect place for a couple’s getaway! Peaceful and quiet with all the necessary amenities, and close enough to excellent restaurants and things to do. Loved our stay!

Great find! Hidden cottage away from the road, with lots of space to sit indoors and outdoors. Master bedroom spacious but missing blinds, make sure to bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in! Enjoyed our stay!

I was escaping some newly refinished floor fumes at Joe's cozy little log cabin. A snow storm hit our first night, covering everything in beautiful white! Beautiful lake view that could be seen from inside the cabin (which, considering the frigid temperatures was a top priority for me). It's a cozily-sized little cabin with cooking pots, utensils, spices, and a little Keurig-esque coffee maker. Snow plow came and treated the driveway the next morning after the snow. Plowman was a friendly guy. There's not a whole lot to do within ~20 minutes of this location. In the summer you have swimming in the lake, in the winter, you might want to bring all your own food and entertainment (as I did). There is a Dollar General, Cumberland Farms, liquor store, and Massage/Beauty Spa about 15 minutes away. So bare necessities are accessible. I have a dog who does not wander off, so the lack of fence on the property was not an issue for me, but just a heads' up for other pet owners!

Seeing no one was there before me I was able to stop by early to drop off my stuff. When I arrived the heat did not seem to be working, however Joe's team was very responsive and got it taken care of right away. By the time I got back, a few hours later, the place was nice an toasty. I was only there for a few days, in the winter, but the place was perfect for me. I bet in warmer weather, when you can use the paddle boards and kayaks, it would be great place to stay as it is very close to the water.

Wish we could give 1000 stars. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was super cozy, the sauna was heavenly, and they kept it warm for us the whole day. The hosts were extremely responsive to any of our questions and very flexible. They upgraded us to a bigger cabin and let us bring a cat. Voluntown was super cute and it felt like a winter wonderland. We will totally be returning! SO worth the price

This was a beautiful little spot, perfect for our winter weekend away. We frequented both Mystic and Westerly, and had an easy experience getting to both areas from this location. The fire was wonderful, the scenery gorgeous, and the host friendly and accommodating! We loved the board games provided as well as the comfortable bed. We’d love to come back, and already miss the gas stove! There’s no TV, which isn’t even needed when you’ve got the view of the beautiful pond! Sophie was lovely too!!
