Family-friendly vacation rentals in Cayton Bay

We had a lovely two night stay here as an early Mother’s Day present with my mum and my 2 young boys. We had a fab meal at the Trout inn which is in walking distance from the cottage all on the flat. Really peaceful area and the boys loved the hot tub! Thank you for a great time, would definitely return 😀

Amazing break away. Peaceful setting, stunning views. A great place to switch off and relax. Nick was a great host from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend the breakfast box.

Me, my wife and two young daughters had a great stay at Steve’s home away from home… I describe it as home away from home as this is just what it was. We had everything we needed from fresh clean towels for the showers and hot tub provided, all cooking facilities including utensils pots and pans which are often over looked via Airbnb as we are very much a family who cooks. Great internet and even Netflix was available on the smart tv ( essential for the kids not us). The house was very cozy and warm, perfect for families, and our stay very peaceful and quiet. Location wise was perfect to explore the surroundings of Robin Hood’s bay and Whitby which are only a short drive away. The hot tub was a highlight with an amazing view, and easy to access being only metres away from the door. Thanks Steve for the great stay!

I ended up doing a solo trip with the dogs and I felt very safe and comfortable on my own. The cottage was clean and cosy. The large Porch is a great design to have an area for drying off coats / boots and with the hot tub. Love the field walks, it’s so nice to be able to have somewhere just a short walk from the accommodations where dogs can be let off lead. Very satisfied with this stay, would recommend to friends and family and I would definitely like to visit again one day. Thank you for a pleasant stay x

Booked last minute and the host, Caroline, was very quick to respond and help me. We had a 50th birthday celebration, the house was great for a large number of guests and the lodge was excellent for our party. We especially liked the hot tub. We had a great stay, thank you.

Richard & Kim provided very informative written guides on anything one might need or like to do while staying at their lovely cottage. They looked after details in the cottage in a way that shows care and love. They even made us a handmade jam! It was our first visit to Yorkshire and they made it a memorable one. We had a comfortable stay that we enjoyed so much.

The pictures of Photographer’s House only hint at what a fantastic home this is to stay in. We loved our stay here. Really spacious but with a cosy feel, thoughtfully decorated and furnished with loads of colour and personality and near to everything while still feeling secluded and peaceful. The weather was sunny but cold for our stay and we enjoyed the brilliant views from the decking and garden, warming up by the fire, takeaways from Cod and Lobster round the upstairs dining table and setting off along the cliff path for the beach. Ashley was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. Learning about his father and feeling we were in a family home really added to the welcoming experience. Highly recommended!

It was delightful...the chalet was perfect and really well appointed...we had great weather too was a bonus...we were having such a great time we stayed an extra night..will definitely be back!!

Thank you Lisa! From the moment we arrived we settled straight in. Everything we could possibly need from all kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, plenty of extra towels, bedding, cleaning products, toilet rolls, even a toothbrush in the little bathroom drawer! We loved our stay at Lancaster House. We went with the family for my mums 60th birthday and Zoe’s place was perfect for our needs. It was very clean, easy to find and had lots of character which, was exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely stay again! 😊

Our Coach House long weekend trip was delightful. The house is tucked away and peaceful. Even though the owners live next door, you would never know. It’s a stone’s throw from really good places to eat out and well-equipped to stay in. We loved the historical charm of the property and everything was well kept and comfortable. Trish met us at check in and showed us around and gave us recommendations for local places. Her welcome basket of goodies, cake and fridge staples were a pleasant surprise. I can honestly say we felt completely spoilt. The location is great for Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes. It was all completely fabulous!

Thanks so much - my parents really enjoyed the cottage - we were staying on a different cottage on The Bay and booked them this one. They said it was their favourite one so far (I think their 3rd visit to The Bay now). Loved the beach walks and a joy to be in Filey again.

What a beautiful cosy cottage this was…It is beautifully decorated and had lots of homely comforts. We spent our days walking on the wonderful sandy beach to Filey and back and our evenings dining at the pub then playing family board games… absolutely perfect family getaway.

Everything was just as described, Heather kept us informed regularly and responded quickly to our requests. Collie Cottage was perfect for our family and our daughter and grandson enjoyed the leisure complex and walked onto the beach. Heather recommended a Chinese restaurant in Filey which was excellent and great value. We have stayed at many cottages over the years and Collie Cottage is one of the best. The cottage is a credit to Heather and Fred and we would have no reservations in recommending it to anyone.

Me and 4 other girls had a lovely weekend at this cottage. We were there for a relaxed weekend and that is exactly what we did. Lovely and warm, modern decor, shower was nice and warm. Nice little treats were left for us. Tesco nearby in Filey to buy food, as well as plenty places to go for food in Filey. Recommend China China for Chinese takeaway. Victoria was also very good with communication and a friendly service.

We spent 2 nights at the apartment. Everything was as described. The location is fantastic within a beautiful holiday village and only 5 mins walk to the amazing never ending sandy beach which is absolutely perfect for your four legged friend. Filey is only 5 mins drive with lovely shops and restaurants and bustling Scarborough only a 15 mins drive. Will definitely be back!

Perfect holiday cottage! Had everything we could have ever needed and more! Very comfortable. Love the location as it’s only a short walk to the beach/ easy drive to other parts of the North Yorkshire coast. The public areas at The Bay are in need of some maintenance.

Fabulous garden and location. Beautiful view from the sun room. Great pool, perfect temperature and very comfortable bed. All round lovely clean and quiet place.

We stayed at Rodgers retreat for 3 nights. Lucy was lovely, the house was well situated close to the main centre of the bay, it was immaculate and easy to find. Lucy was a great host and made us feel so at home when we arrived. We were welcomed with a hamper with snacks for our 3 kids and our cockapoo! We had a great stay and will be back again in the future. Highly recommended thank you!
