Monthly Rentals in Carstairs Junction

I was very relaxed and comfortable in this lovely cottage. It had modern amenities including a lovely bathroom with quality shower and a great kitchen. The weather was extremely cold during my stay but the heating was excellent with big modern radiators throughout. I did not need to use the log burner. I loved the antique furnishings and interesting artwork throughout. I found the location very accessible to walk into town which has a range of good restaurants. I especially enjoyed La Vigna which is only 5 mins walk away. I had a fabulous walk along The Clyde Walkway from New Lanark and the park in Lanark was lovely too. Thank you June for making me so welcome on arrival and kindly providing milk and cakes.

This was such a lovely place to stay in whilst went to a wedding at nearby Cornhill Castle Hotel. It has been so well thought out and had everything that we needed and more besides. The bed is incredibly comfortable (loved the gorgeous duvet!) and the shower was lovely and powerful. The kitchen had everything that we might have needed and we were very grateful for the delicious treats on the breakfast hamper! Many thanks again for a very relaxing break.

Andy’s place is an absolute “gem” and I can’t review it highly enough. From making the booking, the host was prompt with his correspondence, polite and professional. Andy messaged the day before our arrival with final instructions which made the whole process painless. What a beautiful cottage and what a beautiful area. Settled in an elevated location surrounded by rolling hills and gorgeous scenery. The cottage is absolutely immaculate. It was spotlessly clean and truly felt like home from home. Everything you could want is provided. It was inviting, cosy, warm and very well equipped. I cannot recommend this escape highly enough and wish to personally thank Andy for a wonderful stay.

Cass gave us very good instructions for getting to Ampherlaw Farmhouse and left the key out for us as we arrived quite late after a long and snowy journey. We opened the door and found ourselves in a lovely little home-from-home. The dining room is really quite grand. The kitchen is compact and neat with everything one could reasonably want. The sitting room / bedroom is lovely and cosy, with the added appeal of a wood burning stove glowing in the darkness throughout the winter night and the amply-sized bathroom has a large and comfortable bath with a good shower. Ampherlaw Farmhouse is ideally situated to explore a wide area both to the north and south of Edinburgh; getting into the city itself is easy. Closer to hand, the nearby woodlands have some very pretty scenery for walking, with deer running through the trees. All in all, a lovely place to stay. Thank you Cass!
