Family-friendly vacation rentals in Carmen Beach

We were extremely surprised at how nice this place was not just the condo but the whole resort was gorgeous!! Only down side was the extremely firm beds. Could use a lite pillow top on them but honestly wasn’t a big issue. If only the sun had shown itself a bit more had a great time.

The condo and amenities are exactly as described. Norman is a great host, very responsive. He provided a list of restaurants and things to do around the area which is very helpful. Would definitely rent it again next time in CR.

This was a great place where we felt so lucky to have landed! The Villas are off the beaten path but still so close to everything in Samara town. We were thankful to be able to walk to and from the beach without having to spend much time on the busy town roads. The property is wonderfully maintained with beautiful landscaping. Our rental was furthest from the road and wonderfully private and quiet. We were delighted to be treated to so much space both inside and out. It included a large private covered patio with comfy furniture and a large dining table. Inside, the beds were all comfortable, the shower had plenty of pressure and warm water, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and clean up meals and there were 3 AC units that made our stay there totally comfortable.

Randal was a great host and the condo is in a great area. The community was experiencing low water pressure, but Randal was responsive and did what he could to try and improve it for us.

The location is remote and beautiful, the area has rocky roads so just a heads up there. Lots of wildlife!

We traveled with 3 small kids and stayed just over a month. We wanted to be off the beaten path but close enough that we could venture in if we wanted. The house was great. Other reviews mention it is kind of a strange layout with no living room and the 3rd bedroom upstairs (you consider to get in) but we loved it. I would stay here again no doubt. The best part of our stay was Ms. Doris. She is one of the best humans we have ever met. I can’t say enough good things about her. My family will miss her! The pool is huge and monkeys are everywhere. The town in a small village with a great sense of community. Amazing stay!

Heike and Hans place is a slice of heaven! Very remote and hard to find but that is the best part.

The place is really great and very remote, which of course is great for the peace it gives but getting there is a bit difficult. We didn’t had a 4x4 but I would recommend it. But the place is so nice surround by nature and wildlife. We had monkeys, birds and iguanas visiting. The kids loved it. The pool is absolute gorgeous and we used it constantly. Thanks for the nice stay.

Pia’s home was beyond amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. The location was picture perfect, right on the beach, walking to restaurants and shops, located on a huge long lot. We had howler monkeys visit a number of times. And Pia was super responsive and always extremely helpful and communicative. Just a perfect stay!

This Montezuma property is amazing. Bedrooms were so comfortable and everything was clean. The caretaker and the housekeepers were amazing, so nice and always very helpful and gave us privacy. Karen was amazing as well, very responsive to texts and checked up on us to make sure everything was ok. I’ve been to Costa Rica 3 times ands this trip by far was the best. We look forward to coming back again

Beautiful property, stunning sea view, very calm and relaxing

Our family spent a week in montezuma at Dona and Tito’s place. We have 4 school aged kids and they loved all the wild life right in the backyard. We had everything we needed to cook our meals. We bought groceries at the store in town for most meals. The house was clean. They had a cleaning helper visit the house daily at our chosen time to sweep and tidy up. That was super helpful being that we were frequenting the beach. Dona, Sabine and Tito were incredible hosts and very responsive to my questions. Dona helped me plan our transportation to the house from San Jose over the phone. Sabine gave us tips on where to visit and when. Tito greeted us at the house on our first day and helped us throughout the week. Weather was beautiful the first 6 days. On our last night, we had a major storm roll through knocking out power for a few hours. It was right before dinner and I had no way to cook. They offered to cook on their gas stove and brought it back to us to enjoy around our lanterns.

We had a wonderful time relaxing in the nature at Michele’s place, and enjoying the thoughtful and detailed recommendations he gave which we would have never known about otherwise. He was an invaluable resource while exploring Montezuma and the nearby areas. Great host and location!

Excellent accommodation: spacious, clean and quiet; at a very convenient distance everything: beach, supermarkets and restaurants, and far from the noise of night activities. Dana and her assistant Maria were always attentive to our arrival, to resolve any situation and to provide us with the best recommendations. It was our first visit to Santa Teresa and we will definitely consider this place for the next time.

We had the most incredible stay! This was my second time staying at this house. This time, a group of friends (3 couples) traveled here to celebrate my wife's birthday and we all had a marvelous time. I highly recommend working with the host to schedule the private chef Elisabeth for your stay. It's well worth it. She creates beautiful nourishing meals and it's nice not to have to shop or cook. Montezuma is beautiful but our favorite thing to do was simply chill at the villa and enjoy the beautiful view and natural scenery. Note that there's one main master bedroom with a killer view and en-suite bathroom, but the other two bedrooms are connected by a bathroom and share the bathroom (Jack and Jill bathroom style). However, there's also a second half-bathroom downstairs, so it was never much of an issue for our group. Also, there is a washer and dryer you can use in the house! We loved all these amenities and the house provided an extremely comfortable and memorable stay.

Honestly, the pictures do not do this place justice. Very well built, very peaceful nook tucked away in the jungle. Also: you do not NEED an ATV. It’s a rewarding little hike up two separate hills. We really enjoyed our stay and to top it all off we had great weather for our week, lots of sun and yes some rain but the locals say this is GREAT for October! Highly, highly recommend and have a feeling we’ll be back someday. Thank you very much to Kelsey and his crew 🙏🏼

The loft is a wonderful place to chill and relax after a day on the beach. Christian is the most wonderful host you could ever ask for. The location is perfect for the bars, restaurants, and beach. All in all, we could not have asked for more! Totally perfect!

this house was absolutely amazing. if you could dream of a perfect jungle house this would be it. You woke up to birds singing and howler monkeys, well, howling. Our first morning the monkeys came to visit and we sat in the pool watching, it was magical. Lars was so helpful when we checked in, he gave us lots of great food and activity recommendations and even came and helped when we got a visit from a very large spider.

House was great, they are very friendly and helped with everything I needed. Location is perfect, lots to do and lots of places to go to. House didn’t have a BBQ Grill, but not a deal breaker. Definitely recommended.

We loved the accommodation especially being amongst nature! We’d definitely visit again!

We had a fantastic family trip to Dave’s place in Montezuma! Every vacation moment was a blast; we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. Dave and Taylor went all out for us—they set up our rental, dropped off four-wheelers right at our door, and shared some excellent food recommendations. They made us feel right at home the whole week! Our three kids were super cozy and loved every bit of the gorgeous house, and I enjoyed cooking in the spacious open kitchen with a lovely view of the ocean and those charming outdoor showers! It was a getaway we’ll always cherish! We hope to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay in casa tranquila, saw quite a lot of animals in the garden and monkeys in the trees. Beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped. The caretakers Migdalia and Andres are very nice and helpful people and Tania is a very good host, answering fast. Important, one should have a car to get to the house which we had. Thank you Tania!
