Family-friendly vacation rentals in Cardrona

Beautiful location and lovely cottage. Better than the pictures. We had booked into a hotel and changed our minds and we are so glad that we did. One of our last sleepovers on South Island and what a memory! Loved swimming at Wilson bay reserve, just down the hill from the cottage. Thoroughly recommend Scott and Jason’s place.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. It was the perfect base for our Queenstown holiday and was easy to walk to and from downtown. The host was a pleasure and very responsive with any communication.

We had a great stay at this wonderful spot! My wife, 11-month old, and I stayed for 4 nights. Cozy, clean, peaceful. Randall and Amanda were welcoming and extremely helpful. Loved the fresh bread, eggs, & jam and the apples and almonds straight off the trees! We were happy to support and experience this sustainable, off-grid farm. Would definitely stay again if we end up back in the area. =)

Robyn was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of privacy. An ideal location away from the hustle of town and a very short drive to a wide range of shops and services. Highly recommend Robyn’s place for both long and short stays .

The place was very clean, perfect for what we wanted, very close to the shops, but a very big hill to climb on the way home. Perfect and would go back again

This is a great place to stay in Wanaka! The house is located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful mountain views, while also being close to the restaurants and activities at the lake. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the house is clean and comfortable with all the amenities, including an amazing wood burning stove/fire place.

Accommodation was perfect and spacious for my wife and our adult kids. Location was so handy to everything. Loved our stay.

Photos don’t do the view justice. Jeremy was a great host. This is a cabin type experience. We stayed in the winter and used the cottage as a home base for skiing and other activities which was great. Quick ride over to Arrowtown and Queenstown but far away enough to feel private and peaceful. Some important points regarding previous reviews I read about the place being “cold”…the ground floor is all slate stone…as Jeremy recommended, just bring some sandals or slippers to wear around. There is a large heat pump, a lovely pot belly stove, and space heaters and all the beds have blanket heaters which we actually didn’t use because they were too hot…so it’s easy to stay warm and the view and coziness are well worth it, but if you’re expecting a thermostat in a hotel room that you set and leave…this wouldn’t be the place for you. We loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

This space was gorgeous! It was one of the bigger apts we had in the 2 weeks we were in NZ. Daisy was super responsive, very amenable to a late checkout when we knew we’d be late the next morning from a hike, and the kitchen was great little things like storing our sandwich prep supplies. The location is walkable to town but we drove and it’s super easy and convenient. Would deff request to stay there again next trip to Wānaka!

This unit was a very nice stay for our family of 4. Everything was spotless, the kitchen was well appointed, and our very friendly host brought over a muffin pan when we needed one. The location is a quick drive to the beautiful downtown Wanaka area, and our host was nice enough to provide us with a map and show us the various hikes and hot spots to look for. We think it’s fair to note for others so that their expectations are clear that this unit is the furthest back on the property, but attached to another unit by one of the bedrooms. The structure is: owner’s home, connected to another unit, which is then connected to this unit. The effect is slightly less privacy and the need to be careful at night in one of the bedrooms to not be too noisy and bother those in the neighboring unit. Also, the laundry facilities are shared. Despite this, it is still a wonderful place to stay, and we recommend it!

Wendy’s place is a Nice place and good location if you are visiting to Queenstown! And all the room environments just so good!

Such a nice tiny home! Abby was super friendly and the place was exactly as she described it. Just a short drive into Wanaka makes this tiny home perfect, and it had the most comfortable bed of our entire vacation trip! Would definitely recommend!

Was absolutely fantastic. Place was perfect for our whole family and Pete was fantastic with accommodating our needs. Would recommend to anyone who needs a great place to stay in Queenstown.

Great location - easy access to shops and of course the lakefront. We enjoyed using the propane grill and angling out on the deck. hosts were very easy to communicate with. The house was very clean when we arrived and was well-equipped with all the essentials in the kitchen. Would definitely stay there again.

Kaye was extremely warm and helpful. The views from her villa cannot be described! Our jaws were on the floor when we first walked in, and we debated just staying in the villa and not exploring at all for the three days we were there. Great view from hot tub. All the amenities we needed and more. Strongly recommend.

Amazing place! The village of Cardrona is just lovely. And this place was perfect for our family for a ski week! Lovely comfortable beds, warm and cosy with a gas fire and ample heating. The laundry is big and we could easily hang all our ski gear up to dry ready for the next day. The hot pool was a hit with our kids! The Cardona hotel next door is great and has and amazing kids playground, and the General Store sells wood fire pizza on a Friday evening - wonderful. Such a great trip! Many thanks
