Cottage vacation rentals in Cape Fear River

Wow this spot was so so dreamy for our new year’s eve getaway!! Loved watching the fog lift off the lake over morning coffee, and sunsets from the hot tub. Marykate was a super responsive host and this property was wonderful. Would absolutely love to stay here again!

Pictures do not do this place justice! The views are absolutely breathtaking! We stayed here with my four kids and they loved being able to just walk across the street to the beach. We also loved waking up to the ocean views. Amy’s place was very clean and the small touches she adds made the experience unforgettable! I would definitely stay again!!

One of the best airbnbs we’ve stayed at. Everything was exactly as described. It’s about 20 minutes from downtown Wilmington but absolutely worth it for the privacy and seclusion we wanted for our anniversary weekend. You could tell Kristy was thoughtful in making sure we felt right at home. We will for sure be staying here when we’re in the area again.

This was an absolutely perfect Topsail vacation home! We loved every minute of our stay. The location is absolutely fantastic. So close to the little local shops and restaurants as well as super close to the bridge going over to the mainland.. The house itself was spotless and quite comfortable. Had everything we needed to cook full meals. Plenty of kitchenware for our group of seven. Proximity to the beach is by far the most fantastic detail of this house! The little private sandy beach *yard* attached to the deck is awesome for kids and the beach itself just down a few steps is so amazing. We could even sit in bed and see the ocean waves! This is the best house with beach access and views we've stayed at in Topsail. Also positive to note, the entire property being fenced in felt incredibly safe for kids and was fantastic for our dog. We realized the apartment was a part of the rental unit and we were so pleasantly surprised! It was a great separate space! Overall highly recommend!

Unit accurately described. Clean, great location no complaints. Only negative at first we didn’t see the instructions on how to enter the unit on the Airbnb email. Called the owner but they never called back-minor issue and only issue otherwise everything was great.

Great place! Clean, things to do for adults and kids, we loved the fenced in backyard. Hot tub was clean and enjoyable!

This house is one of my favorite stays ever! The decor is so fun and funky and the hot tub was fantastic. Love the yard, we will have to return with friends next time. Hosts are so friendly and you can’t skip checking out their store!

The space was exactly as described and Diane was super responsive and helpful. The kids loved the hot tub, there were tons of unexpected amenities (waffle maker! Cupcake liners!) which made for more breakfast and snack options. Be sure to plan for renting a car - while there is a nice restaurant next door, you’ll need it to get around. I would recommend planning a stop to the carnivorous plant garden while you’re in town!

This place was so peaceful and cozy. The house is beautiful and feels like home from the moment you walk in. Very quiet neighborhood, great fenced yard with pavers for dogs to play without the mess of mud, and great area to hose off beside the house so we were never tracking in muddy paws or sand. We visited with our three large dogs and even they felt so relaxed almost immediately. The house is spacious and has a lot of character. We loved looking at the art. The hosts are very hospitable and so kind. It is so hard to find places that are truly dog- friendly and as clean and comfortable as this one. We had a very special stay and will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed the proximity to walking distance of all the restaurants. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the fenced in front yard. The place was perfect for our stay. We will keep this place in mind when we return to Wilmington.

This was our first family vacation just myself, my husband, and our kids. It was PERFECT for what we were looking for! The property itself does not have a lot of extras but we found there was plenty to do so we didn’t miss anything. Also, one of the window locks wasn’t working properly and they immediately responded to fix the issue and was making sure we felt safe and comfortable which we were!! We did not rent a golf cart but we didn’t feel we needed to as everything was within a few blocks of the property! The boardwalk, beach access, restaurants, etc. As soon as we left after checking out, my husband immediately said “we need to book this place again” and I 100% agree!

We loved our week at Blue Turtle Cottage! It’s bright, clean and charming. Just a short walk to the beach. Leslie and Kay were lovely hosts. We’d definitely come back if our plans bring us to OKI. The king bed is super comfy!. Thanks for hosting us! 💙🐢

We had such a great stay at Wendie & Katy's Airbnb! The place was exactly as described – clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect for our needs. The communication with Wendie and Katy was fantastic; they were responsive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed for a smooth check-in and stay. I decided last minute to do a solo trip to oak island for the weekend and I don’t think I could’ve picked a better place! The location was perfect, it was conveniently located to restaurants and a nice Publix for groceries. The walk to the beach was very manageable and actually enjoyable since you go over a beautiful scenic walkway. The cottage itself was cozy and quiet, the screened in porch was perfect for reading. Plus the hosts were so friendly and helpful! I am already looking at my calendar to see when I can squeeze in another stay this summer!

My husband, pup, and I traveled to Jacksonville, NC to visit our Marine, his wife, and their new baby. The home was beautiful, clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The expansive outdoor area made it feel as though you were in the middle of nowhere, yet in reality you are close to everything (restaurants, grocery, gas, etc...). The huge walk in shower has made me rethink my own bathroom, as I would love to have something similar in my home. Cathy, the host, was always available and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. If available, we will definitely stay here again next time we travel to the Jacksonville area.

This was my second time staying at David’s place and it was just as great as my first stay. It matches all descriptions listed, is well-maintained, extremely clean, and in a private area just off a main road.

This cottage on pages creek was stunning, peaceful, full of nature and relaxing. Every detail was thought of, a very pleasant restful visit and an oasis at this destination!

We and our dog Sammie absolutely loved our stay! The beautiful and peaceful farmhouse was exactly as listed—spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. It was so relaxing watching all the animals around the property. The host was quick to respond to any questions, and both they and the handyman were incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Super cute place! Had very nice appliances and was decorated nicely. The fan in the bedroom next to the balcony was very slow and it was kind of hot at night. And for anyone staying with kids, there are two small beds and one blow up mattress. The beds were a little smaller than expected but im glad the blow up mattress was there. Overall, really quiet place and felt safe. Would recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Nice private location within driving distance of base, the gym, and parks all things I was looking for. Debra was very friendly and responsive and had chocolate cake waiting for me upon arrival! Would stay here again!

Lisa's place is absolutely beautiful and relaxing with so many options for inside and out (much more than were able to utilize) Had absolutely no issues finding the place, checking in, or during our stay. Any questions were instantly answered. Loved all the large windows with amazing views and good airflow. Our kids enjoyed fishing off the dock, paddleboat, and kayaks; reading a book in the hammock or deck; and playing pool or the 60 game arcade.. Only wish we had more time than a couple of days! She had it stocked with so many extras if we forgot to pack it. The beds were comfortable for a good night's sleep! Thank you for such a wonderful place for our family to spend quality time with our oldest son who lives close by.
