Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Caniço

The house is nice, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Since it is located in the mountains, it is not properly heated, and it was occasionally chilly inside. Additionally, the house is situated near a road with frequent noisy traffic, which can be disruptive. The location listed in the advertisement was incorrect and led us to a spot about 500 meters away from the actual house. Furthermore, the house is several kilometers from the waterfront, and there’s nowhere to walk nearby as there are no sidewalks. On the positive side, the hosts left us wine, cheese, and a local cake, which was a nice gesture. The jacuzzi was in good working order, adding to the comfort. However, caution is needed with the staircase in the house — it is quite steep, and there’s a risk of slipping. Overall, the stay was fine, but some aspects might not suit everyone.

Garry contacted us directly and made the arrival very easy for us. We were received by him in a very friendly manner and he had great tips for us on how to spend the time in Madeira well. The accommodation was well equipped - the jacuzzi was of course the absolute highlight that made our stay special. Since the weather on the island changes very quickly, it was the perfect way for us to relax there if the weather did not play along. The location is great for walks in the nearby Levadas. It was very clean and well maintained, so we felt comfortable. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our time at Luis's place. Everything you needed and more was available and the bathroom with window to the rock wall is special. The apartment is spacious and in addition you have the terrace and a large garden at your disposal. From there or out of the hot tub you can enjoy the sunset. The location is still authentic, so far there are very few vacation rentals there. In the cafe or supermarket next door, you can therefore experience a non-touristy atmosphere. The view of the highways is not quite as idyllic, but we quickly got used to it and from Campanário you can get everywhere quickly, be it into the mountains, the sea or Funchal. If you haven't rented a car, buses leave very close by. Communication with Luis was proactive and very pleasant. Thank you!

Very nice place on the quiet side of the island. I stayed here almost a month and it made for a great home base to explore the island. The little town of Sao Vicente has a number of good restaurants without the traffic of Funchal. If you’re looking for a nice place to relax, this is it. If you’re looking to party every night, best stay in Funchal. Large game room to spend some time and a jacuzzi (just remember to turn it on about 12 hours before you want to use it.). Exceptionally beautiful views of the valley and the sea from the bedrooms. No central heat but two portable heaters helped out. The only real negative was barking dogs in the neighborhood, but that’s not really within their control. I would definitely return in the summer! Also, I left a guide book for Madeira behind and it’s very good so use it!

Well , where do I start without making this sound like a commercial. This place was amazing! So peaceful with stunning views. It felt like home away from home . Filipe is an amazing person. He made the effort to reach out every so often to see if we needed anything. Our trip would not have been the same without Filipe's help and his home. We will be back again. Thank you.

We were very lucky to spend a few days at Villa Sweden and it was just amazing! The hosts are incredibly warm, attentive and helpful – they made our stay perfect from the beginning. After our adventurous explorations of the beautiful island, Villa Schweden was our little paradise to relax. The views are stunning, whether at sunrise or quiet dusk. The jacuzzi was the absolute highlight and let us relax in the best way every night. The villa is decorated with a lot of love, super clean and nothing is missing. Very nice welcome by the hostess, we were abundantly gifted with bananas, eggs and something sweet. Thank you again Nelia, even for the help in the evening with the shopping. The house is very quietly located on the mountain, so you need a car. It was very clean, modern and equipped with everything necessary and more, also the shakusi was used almost daily, after the hikes it was a real highlight! Only, in November, the house was usually in the fog again from the late afternoon, so it was a bit damp, and we were therefore rarely able to use the wonderful balcony after our hikes. But that's probably because of the season. Overall, we felt very comfortable, and definitely recommend!

Me and my family had a wonderful stay at the villa. Our host José was very proactive and responded promptly whenever we had a question. The villa was very clean, the beds slept very well (allthough my adult sons would have preferred normal beds instead of the bunk bed that was available for them) and the swimming pool and attached jacuzzi (after requesting heating of the pool at an additional cost) was a true plus for our stay. The location of the villa is also an important element since (especially during the winter) this part of the island has the best (most sunny) weather... The town is called Punta do Sol for a reason... ;-) The only minor negative remark I could make is that - already mentioned in other reviews - is that the villa has a very narrow entry road that isn't for the faint of heart when arriving by car. My advise would be to keep the wall about 10 to 20 cm from your left mirror (when arriving) and you should be safe. :-) Overall we had a perfect holiday stay..!

Amazing Villa! Our family had a great New Year in Madeira. The Villa was perfect, clean tidy safe for children and most of all we managed to catch the fireworks from the end of the terrace! Highly recommended and will be stopping here again next time we visit Madeira.

The villa was fantastic- we would happily stay there again. It was very clean, had everything we needed and we loved the east facing sunrise views from the wonderful balcony and outdoor area. I honestly don’t think the photos do the views or the villa justice- both are spectacular. It’s a 15 minute drive to car parking in downtown Funchal (we used the spacious one beside the cable car in east Funchal- there may have been other closer tighter options but that one worked best for us). Several supermarkets nearby. Make sure the property info pack is there on arrival- it was missing when we arrived and took a few days for it to be delivered but other than that it was the perfect experience.
