House vacation rentals in Brewster County

Home was so beautiful and very clean and cozy! We got to watch the night sky and enjoy the peace and quiet. The beds were super comfortable also! The only downside was the road leading to it was definitely was a pain even in a truck. Be prepared to go off roading, but the house made it worth the drive. The host was very responsive. I thought I left my wallet and got a fast response back and the host even went to check to see if it was there. If you enjoy being outside in nature away from everyone. I recommend this place 100%!

My girlfriends and I traveled to Terlingua for a women's hiking adventure. The property is a little ways away from the Terlingua town. But the views, the privacy and landscape made the distance more than bearable and very worth the stay. All the rooms in the house were spacious and comfortable. Both the front and back patios were very inviting. The house is an open concept which allows everyone freedom of movement. Our beds were comfortable and I slept like a baby both nights we were there. We used the kitchen on our second night for a home cooked steak dinner. All the basic cooking tools are provided. Stephanie and Bruce were very responsive to every message we sent from the time of booking to the time of departure. They offered suggestions and made us feel comfortable and welcome. I would definitely return to Tres Patas at my next visit to the area. The views were absolutely spectacular and we even got to see the Tres Patas bear (from a very safe distance). Book now!

We really enjoyed our stay, home was just as described, comfortable beds and great layout for two couples. We really enjoyed the pool on our two hot afternoons and loved relaxing on the deck. The Mountain views are lovely. Easy drive to restaurants in Terlingua. Highly recommend!

We traveled to 5 national parks over the course of 10 days for spring break, and my 8 and 5 year old both ranked Daryl's place as their favorite part of the trip. Needless to say, they were big fans of the pool table and having a TV in their room! Daryl's place was perfect for our family - centrally located to Big Bend and Terlingua, clean, spacious, and had a nice assortment of games for the kids/adults to play. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning from the porch and mapping out the constellations at night. Wonderful place - we would absolutely stay again.

The perfect home base to unwind after hiking all day in Big Bend! A lot of privacy and incredible both inside in the AC and on the patio. Roof deck is perfect for sunset watching and star gazing! Already ready to plan our next trip.

The rock house is the perfect peaceful getaway from city living. Sit on the front porch and listen to the bird songs of cactus wrens and curve-billed thrashers in the trees. Sunsets behind the mountain range to the west were absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for hosting, hope to be back soon!

We had a delightful stay at Calle Ocho. Annette is a gracious host. Very helpful and always quick to respond. The house is blocks from the heart of Alpine and is delightfully updated and comfortable. There are plenty of plugs for charging devices and the Wi-Fi is strong. The fully furnished kitchen and laundry area helped us feel right at home. We hope to stay here again next time we visit the Big Bend!

The Bunkhouse was better than advertised -- perfect location in Marathon and a wonderful host. We'd absolutely come back.

The home was centrally located perfectly for our needs to visit the McDonald’s Observatory, and Big Bend. Alpine was a quaint little town, and Christopher’s home was homey & perfect for our family’s needs. We visited Big Bend.. and wished we had more time to explore every hiking trail it had to offer. We had a small issue and Christopher was so helpful and patient with us, and made our stay memorable. We will look fwd to booking future stays with him. Thanks again!!!

This is a great location to explore Alpine and Brewster County, day drives to Marfa, Davis Mountains, Terlingua, and the National Park are easy from here. I've stayed at this house 5 times, very comfortable inside and out. Kathleen is a great hostess. The house is well equipped, kitchen, laundry, entertainment, two nice bedrooms.

Very quiet and peaceful location. I would love to stay from March -May.

Our stay @ John’s place was very positive from first contact til checkout. John is very easy to communicate with & the house was very charming, cozy, full of atmosphere & conveyed a wonderful West Texas vibe. We would’ve enjoyed the outside spaces as well but a cold windy front came through…

Christopher’s place was perfect for our stay in Alpine. It was super comfy, well stocked and a great location. I would stay again!

Super responsive host. House is comfortable and well stocked. Appreciated details like a small bench in the bathroom and plenty of towels and TP. Kitchen has everything. House is 20 minutes from the highway so if quiet is what you are looking for, it’s got it. Enjoyed the front and back porches with comfy chairs on both. Comfortable furniture in the living room, too. Lots of throw blankets… Really well stocked house.

Montie's place was just as expected. We found the canyon beautiful and the house matched the surroundings. The porch was great for star gazing and bird watching. It was a great place to wind down after a day visiting Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. If we come this way again, we hope Montie's place will be available.

This place is absolutely beautiful! You can tell a lot of love, care, and financial investment went into creating this home in the middle of the desert. It’s modern, stylish, and incredibly cozy and impressive, given that it’s completely off-grid! The home offers tons of comforts you’d want, and breathtaking surroundings. The property is private and gated, right off Highway 118 just a 20-minute drive to Terlingua proper. Don and Crystal were responsive, helpful, and more than happy to answer all my questions about this brand-new home. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back!

I have stayed in a few of the Airbnb‘s in Sanderson and stayed in the hotel as well. Amanda‘s place is head and shoulders above everything else I’ve seen. It was very quiet and dark skies. If you stay on the main street in town, there’s light and noise all night. Amanda‘s place was completely peaceful.

There in no place in this area that provides the amount of creature comforts, privacy, star gazing, desert views, and desert vibes than this place does (remember this is in the middle of nowhere with very limited civilization in close proximity). The house is located close enough to terligua ghost town (about 7 miles) where you can find coffee shops, food, gift shops and other things to do. It is about 10 miles away from Big Bend National Park entrance. The house is private, quiet, clean, well kept and comfortable. The internet worked well, even out on the star gazing deck. Speaking of the star gazing deck, if you are looking for a place where you can sit/lay comfortably outside and look up to the heavens, while only being a short 10 yard walk from your fully stocked kitchen THIS IS IT. We spent countless hours on this deck just soaking it all in. We will 100% be staying here again for our next big bend trip.

Marci's house is a great place to stay if you're heading to Big Bend National Park -- it's about a 45-minute drive from the home to the main gate. And what a cool home this is! It felt like hanging out at a cool friend's house, and we greatly enjoyed the chairs set up outside facing the mountains (and really pretty sunsets). Amenities are a little sparse and this is a home that has been well lived in, but everything is clean and full of character. At the price, it's a great value. We'd love to come back and visit again!
