Enjoy a cozy stay in a lake front cottage. Located in Essex, on chebacco lake, this 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home has everything you could need. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living space with wifi and a large TV, and a comfy couch overlooking the lake. We have a external monitor with a keyboard and mouse to set up a workstation if needed. A large deck and seasonal dock to hang out on. Close to the ocean if you get tired of the lake. It's an excellent home base on Boston's North Shore.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE LOCATION - A PERFECT SPOT A wonderful, nautically appointed cottage two houses away from our other rental. It comfortably sleeps up to 7 people including a queen sized master bed, a full size bed, a single futon in the loft as well as a pull out sofa in the living room.

My wife and I just spend three amazing days at this cottage, and I need to add my two cents to the reviews. I'd like to comment on some of the topics in other reviews. The place, the location, etc, it seems that everyone agrees that it is fabulous. No argument there. It really is. Beyond that, a few people really like the experience, and more people didn't. We are definitely on the like side of the debate. It was mentioned that the sofas are in really bad shape. They have been replaced. They are now different from the photos in the post. There is now one sofa, and it's great. In place of the second sofa, there are two chairs that my wife spent much of her time on. Very comfortable. People also mentioned how awful the beds were. My guess is that the mattresses on both beds have been replaced as well, because they are just fine. We both slept well and were quite comfortable. We actually brought the mattress out of the sofa bed in our home because of the scary reviews, but we left it in the car when we saw that the beds weren't an issue at all. Many said it was hot. This was a fall trip for us and we were cold, and there is no heating, but we weren't too cold. Plenty of bedding was provided, but we had brought our own and we were fine. Someone mentioned that the bathtub was stained. True story. I'm not sure I'd want to soak in the tub, but we weren't put off in any way taking showers. Didn't bother us. The post shows sliding glass doors on the tub, but they have now been replaced with a shower curtain. Both the water pressure and water temperature in the cottage are really good. The kitchen is VERY WELL STOCKED. It had everything we needed and more. It is a bit small, but there was enough room to cook, and it was quite clean. Even the inside of the toaster oven was clean. A comment said the stove didn't work. Though the listing says the oven is not functional, the stovetop works fine. If you turn on a burner too low, it will keep clicking as if it is striking flint. If you turn the flame just a little higher, the clicking stops. Again, the stove was very clean. Some mentioned the fabulous library. Agreed. In fact the whole place was like a piece of history, and we took way more pictures than we usually do simply because any way you turn, there's another great background. And then, there are the sea views from the living room and library - stunning. Let me summarize by saying that my wife and I will absolutely stay at this wonderful little cottage again.

Such a perfect waterfront cottage on the bay! Gorgeous location in such a sweet and homey house. Peaceful, relaxing, roomy and Christina was such a delite! She was so helpful, attentive, friendly, and proactively caring from beginning to end. Christina was honestly as wonderful as the house! We all loved our stay and would very much enjoy visiting again!

Having never been to the beaches near Gloucester or Rockport we decided to go explore… and stumbled onto a real gem! The spot is fantastic! The beach is great! There’s plenty of parking. And Mark and Joanne really took great care of us!! Never infringed upon our trip, but always quick & kind to respond the few times we reached out to them. We loved the beach access, the beach necessities (chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards), well-stocked kitchen and 2 refrigerators for all our groceries. We will be coming back here for sure!!

I stayed with Nancy to start a new job for a month. Nancy was so helpful and caring. It was so nice to come back 'home' and walk in the woods or to the beach - what a sweet neighborhood. You do have to deal with some quirky things - like the aggressive neighborhood turkeys - but if you care about the environment (reduce/recycle) and enjoy walking/hiking/water sports, this place is for you.

This cottage gave us exactly what we were looking for. Our host was responsive and helpful within minutes of booking the stay. Seasonal tips and recommendations were spot on and helped us plan our stay. Our kids enjoyed the property and absolutely loved swimming off the dock at high tide. The cottage was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the four of us. It is situated with amazing views of the marsh and was a great vantage point for enjoying sunrise and sunset.
