Jason’s home is a perfectly preserved slice of nostalgia and charm. The design and decor were so beautiful. Everything was organized with helpful labels and details that made the stay seamless. We loved the DVD collection and it became a nightly tradition to pick one out. The accommodations for dogs are above and beyond. Our favorite memory was watching them swim in the pond. They were in heaven. Best stay in Julian! Already dreaming of our next visit. 🥰

I absolutely loved staying here! It was peaceful, the walking trails and access to nature were well beyond what I imagined, clean, and hosts are available and kind! I really enjoyed the sunset hike, the forest therapy trails, and even just relaxing on the front porch with a fenced area for my pup. Thank you and I hope to stay here again!

Great place! So private but right in the center of Julian. It was a good group of us and there was enough space and things for us there. It was perfect. Thank you!

We had an incredible time at the Almost Heaven cabin! The cabin is the perfect mix of rustic charm and creature comforts, like the clawfoot tub, stocked kitchen, and comfy furnishings. The host was extremely responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We had quite a bit of snowfall, and she took the extra time to send us a video showing us how to find the house in snowy conditions and where to park. We also appreciated all the special touches, like the hot tub being already warmed up when we arrived. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet. Our kids loved playing in the snow and then soaking in the hot tub surrounded by trees. As mentioned in the description, there are some stairs and uneven surfaces, so probably not ideal for someone with mobility issues, but the cabin worked extremely well for our family of four and our doggo. The downstairs bathroom was super fun… it reminded us of the Madonna Inn! Lots of quirk and fun to be had at this special place. We hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful couple of days in Julian in Aubrey's cabin as a family of 5. The scenery was stunning and we were close to a range of family-friendly walks in mountains and Anza-Borrego desert state park, as well as exploring Julian. Super cozy cabin and whole family was charmed. Aubrey was an excellent host and made everything so easy for us. Thanks again!

Stayed at the treehouse for a couple days of our kids spring break and it as perfect! Great spot in the trees, quiet and beautiful. There is an information binder that shares all local hikes, restaurants, activities that was very helpful! We would definitely stay again.

Second time staying at this property and that’s the greatest endorsement I can give ! The property is quiet, private and very clean. Beautiful views and great star gazing. I’ll be back in the future !

This cottage is so cute and well designed! The view from the back is absolutely stunning! Expansive rolling hills and so many pretty Blue Jays! The place has all the essentials and worked great for our family of 5. We really enjoyed the hot tub surrounded by nature. Our hosts were great and very responsive. The home heats up nicely and the fireplaces add a cozy touch. We enjoyed hiking around Julian as well as some a nice little hike in the back of the house. The hosts also offered some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We highly recommend this adorable place!

We spent a lot of time on the front porch once the sun set, looking through the Borrego valley and enjoying every moment of quiet, peaceful time together with our dog. We happened to come during an aerobatics competition at the nearby airport, so enjoyed watching masterful pilots show off their incredible skills during the day! Sunrises were so, so beautiful over an unobstructed desert vista. Kitchen was well stocked, AC cold, the place felt welcoming. Scrabble was a lot of fun. Loved the selection of books on local history and wildlife as well. We enjoy walking, but it was a little confusing what was ok to walk through and what wasn’t- but I could have easily asked Neiland, as he responded right away when I had a question about the trash disposal. We found ourselves walking the road in to avoid encroaching on anyone’s space, which was fantastic anyhow. Last thing. An adorable Say’s Phoebe hangs around, literally perched in a rocking chair next to us (between fly catching). So cool!

The Cowboy Cabin is the perfect place to really unwind and enjoy a relaxing stay while in Julian. If the weather is good like it was for us this weekend, it is just so relaxing to sit on the deck and listen to the birds. We have stayed at the cabin on multiple occasions, and it's our favorite place to stay in Julian. Christina definitely meets all the requirements of a super host. Super responsive and friendly in all her communications.

This place was amazing! The quiet scenery beautiful backyard, lots of wildlife, the fireplace was amazing kept us nice and warm during our stay. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to be near Julian but want a quiet peaceful place to relax and unwind this is the place to be! Definitely coming back next year for my next little vacation!

The property provided a western ambiance with amazing views. The location was private but close to downtown Julian. We had a comfortable stay. The host was responsive and friendly.

This was our 2nd time staying at T's place and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. We really enjoy the rustic cabin feel and the proximity to downtown Julian but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We also really enjoy how welcoming T's place is for dogs and the cleanliness of the cabin given that dogs are allowed. All of the little details are covered which makes for a really comfortable stay. T is very responsive to questions and proactive in helping us with different directions due to the snow we got to enjoy on this stay!

Cozy cabin just a short drive from town. Long driveway helps it feel a little more secluded. Loaded with AC/heat. Nice kitchen and shower. Projector is an added bonus.

Nice house in the mountains, clean and modern style kitchen with all the things you need. Parking was little tricky but wasn’t mission impossible.

What a magical place! We are already planning our next trip back. Julia was an amazing host and was there to help with any questions within a minutes notice. The cabin is a magical place! I could stay here forever!

A wonderful place in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed watching all the wildlife from the balcony. The home was warm and very comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and more. Kathleen made it real easy to check in. And instructions for everything were clear. Loved the fireplace! And our pups did too!

The view was impeccable and the property and house were very spacious. We enjoyed the individuality of the decor. We were lucky enough to have snow for our visit. Our 4x4 made it possible for us to traverse the road safely but it would have been treacherous without 4x4 or chains. We had a bit of trouble at check-in (our fault) and the host was friendly and prompt to assist us. Fantastic property for our large family gathering. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Little Pine is a little gem! Perfect for 2 ppl and a small dog=) Beautiful nature all around, feels private and cozy. Inside was very clean and looked like pictures. Couldn't use Netflix but Renee brought us a bag of DVDs so there was lots to choose from when we wanted to watch TV. Not a big deal since we were there to unplug a bit anyway. Renee is very helpful and quick to try & fix any issues and takes good care of the property. And her sweet pup Feather is an absolute doll! We enjoyed her and the cool kitty too. Property is just a few mins down the road to Main Street if you want a little more action. Plenty of shops and restaurant options plus the Julian Farm and Orchard is also a close drive.

Beautiful place and an excellent stay all around

This is a special place. A perfect escape where to slow down immersed in nature. We’ll for sure come back!

Jill was a great host and very responsive. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed to prepare a Christmas Day meal. The beds were comfortable. The town ofJulian was very nice with bakeries and of course the well known bake pies. The restaurant, Jeremy’s on the Hill, were very accommodating and we could sit on the patio, that had heaters, with our small dogs.

Stayed 5 days here with hubby for our 10 year anniversary. What started off as a jam packed itinerary quickly melted away into just staying in the cabin and relaxing. We were totally okay with it just being just us, in this peaceful space. Being able to bring our furry friends was absolutely amazing and made our vacation even more stress free knowing they are with us. Hosts made this experience incredibly easy. Instructions were incredibly thorough and I'm very glad we payed attention to them because the drive was like no other. 10/10 Would absolutely do again!
