Vacation rentals with lake access in Ambalangoda

We stayed at Madampe for Christmas, it was one of the best stays for all of us. The villa is prettier and bigger that in the pictures, pool was clean all the time, very beautiful trees and flowers. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and attentive, they also cooked us amazing dishes for a very good price. It was very peaceful and homey, the beach is literally 5 minute walk from villa and we saw the most amazing sunsets. One thing I would suggest is that if you’re planning to visit Madampe house make sure to bring mosquito repellant spray. Other than that everything was beyond our expectations!

Indeed, we spent the best time here in Shri Lanka. There was everything that our family of 7 (including 5 and 15 years old children and grandparents) needed: nice and clean home, about 10-15 minutes walk to fruit and fish markets, 15 minutes to the coral reef and wonderful beach, and a so nice lake next to the house that children preferred to swim there rather than in the ocean! Thank you very much for hosting us in this great place!!!

This place is just magical and picturesque. If you're at Hikkaduwa or even galle, go with this option. A great waterfront property with all amenities. you can even swim in the river that flows at the back. never seen a place filled with all the items a family would require. walkable distance to beach road where you have plenty of restaurants and shops. Saman sir is very kind and welcoming.

Such a beautiful and peaceful getaway place. Definitely recommend!

Lahiru and Piyushani are such lovely and warm people and their place is such a peaceful tropical oasis. Everything you could wish for is around this area, incredible beaches, food, temples and green tropics. They very kindly upgraded us to their villas which were just divine. Clean and airy with lovely spaces to sit and read all day…as we chose to do on multiple days. It has an amazing bed to sleep in and is very private and spacious. We ended up staying two weeks just because it felt like the perfect space to stop. They were caring in checking in and making sure everything was ok. Would stay here again and again and again. Paradise 🌴

I recently stayed at 1908 Villa and had a wonderful experience. The host is extremely friendly and has excellent knowledge of the local area, offering helpful tips and recommendations. Despite being over 100 years old, the villa is in fantastic condition, beautifully renovated, and very clean. The fast internet was a big plus! The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for watching sunsets, and it’s only a 10-minute drive to the famous Hikkaduwa Beach. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The grandparents of the host live downstairs and they were really lovely and tried to help us where they could. They provided an extra mattress for our 3 year old and drove us for a small fee with their tuktuk. The beach is near and there is a lovely bar with lovely poeple the ocean freedom Restaurant, if you stay here you should go there - if you do, say hi from us.

We stayed 6 nights. One of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka. self-contained accommodation, well fenced, magical views of the lake pool very pleasant. Nishantha and his wife are very attentive to our requests and very available. beach 200 meters away .

I enjoyed my stay here. There were a few electrical issues withe the lamp but it got resolved. The surrounding is really beautiful a bit far but there’s tuktuk passing by every now and then.

Nalaka is definetely a superhost. Always friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. Taxi transfer, tuk-tuk ride, bike rental, sightseeing, food and laundry, power adapters, you name it. His family is also very charming, positive and helpful. The place is always clean, with nice minimalistic furniture. The location is about 7-10 minute bike ride to the sea shore and it might be a good thing as it's quiet and chill. It was a great starting point for my trip and I don't regret staying here for 9 days.

Great place - fundamentals are done well, internet is strong and generator is good. You can't use ac while on the generator, but can use fans laptops and WiFi. Patrick is very responsive if you have problems. Sunil the caretaker is amazing and takes good care of you, food is good and you can order or cook for yourself. Kitchen could do with some TLC, as could the rooms but good price/quality ratio and great for nomads.

All compliments to this place and family that hosted me! The place is beautiful, clean and comfortable! Surrounded by a jungle garden! Lovely home pets , Iresh and his mom was very helpful and kind. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Çend roja ciyê raketinê ne rehet bû lê me paşê fahm kir kû doşeka razanê ters danîye lê me paşê sererast kir:) Mala wî kîlometreyek nêzî behrê bû . Ji bo danûstendinê market nêzîk bû. Iresh always helped us. He suggested that we meet in different places. His family was a good family. We loved his mother very much. It was not comfortable for a few days when we got up, but we found out later that the mattress was opposite , but we fixed it later :)The location is in a nice place, about 1 kilometer away from the beach.There were small markets nearby to meet your needs.

Vinodh was an incredible host, even though it was raining when we arrived he placed the beautiful flowers he’d picked one by one into the pool which was so sweet! Great attention to detail, lack of mosquitos in the pod because he has a really good plug in deterrent, and he gives you amazing breakfast! Definitely recommend
