Chalet vacation rentals in Western Montana

Our family of four loved staying at this peaceful cabin in the woods & we were so sad to leave! We loved the screened in porch with the swings and comfy chairs with views of the forest. We had so much fun having Ping Pong tournaments and dart games in the huge game room downstairs. Location is perfect b/c it's private and quiet but also close to downtown Whitefish where there are amazing restaurants & shops. We loved having visits from their adorable dog Atlas and the friendly black farm cat. We met Jen and her husband Jerry & they were so kind and accommodating and gave us a great recommendations of a local place to swim not to far from the house as well as an early check in! We hope to be back!

Stayed here with a couple of friends with kids - the place is fantastic for families. Kids ran around outside every waking moment. The creek was endless entertainment, the fire ring was essential for s'mores and star gazing and the dogs were friendly and well mannered - got along with other dogs in the group and with the little ones. Cody and Georgia are just nice, cool people. Yes, they live on the property as some of the reviews have pointed out but it was actually great that they did. They were responsive to needs and gave great recommendations, but were not at all overbearing. It was like having great neighbors. The house is a little outside Whitefish - which is itself a great town. We spent a couple days doing activities around there and easily could have done more. It was a bit of a hike to get to Glacier National Park so be prepared for that if that's your main focus. We went into GNP 3 times during our stay and were definitely tired of driving by the end.

My family and I had a great weekend staying at the expedition lodge, the outdoor kitchen and fire pit were so much fun, and my dog loved the huge yard. Highly recommend staying here for large groups!

If you show up at night in the dark, the place is harder to see and find. It is the second right after the second bridge. We were told it was the first right and that made it hard to find at night. During daylight would have been no problem to find. The location and house were fantastic and we plan on staying here again for sure!

This home was absolutely beautiful, not only inside but outside as well. The hosts were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful little chalet and perfect for our family trip. Felt cozy and just like home. Our littles enjoyed the scenery and getting to be outside. First snow of the year for us and they loved it! Thank you for hosting us, we absolutely enjoyed our stay!

This home was the perfect place for us to gather our family -- along with lots of friends. The floorplan is perfect for a big group. Everything was well-stocked and carefully thought out, so we had everything we needed and plenty of space to spread out. There were lots of options for day trips and local adventures, but we also enjoyed several afternoons just sitting on the huge outdoor porch, reading and enjoying the spectacular weather. Our hosts were super responsive, including a last-minute agreement to let us extend our stay by several hours rather than sitting at the airport waiting for our flight home. Overall, an amazing getaway that we'll remember... for life. Truly a 12/10 getaway.

A few words to describe: beautiful, peaceful, immaculate. This place was everything Teryn said it was, and then some. The fact that there are 3 rooms with kings in them was a selling point. Each room has its own bathroom. Did I mention the giant family room that also has its own bathroom? I mean if a family has stomach issues this is the place to do it. Honest feedback: this place is amazing. It’s off the beaten path but that’s what our family wanted. It’s a really nice ski chalet in the summer and it was appropriately priced. Conversely this place would be beyond amazing in the winter if you ski/board. When they say right to the lifts they mean it. It’s close enough to throw a baseball from the building to the downhill portion of the run that leads right to your first chair. This is a year round gem. Lots of deer very comfortable with the area. Parking here is awesome. In winter it would be a must. Full size suv or truck no issue, with cargo box I’d measure.

The condo / cabin was perfect for my family. Mark was great and very responsive. Literally ski out, or a very short walk to the slopes. Everything you need, multiple restaurants, bards, shops, market, ski rentals, all within 100 yards. We'll be back. PS Find the elevator day 1... it is a life savor in winter

We had an excellent experience at The Black Eagle Chalet! Wonderful location with everything close by from skiing to restaurants. The hosts Kristen and Fouad were very helpful and offer an outstanding property. I would and plan to stay here again for my next trip to Big Sky!

Such a beautiful location and home! It was well furnished with everything for a great stay and for fun. The grill, the decks, the fire pit, the karaoke were all put to good use, as was the kitchen! It was a wonderful and spacious home for a small family reunion for five days. Sue was very responsive whenever an issue arose. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful home! picture don't do it justice. it was very relaxing to go to a beautiful clean home after spending an entire day at the Glacier National Park.

amazing house! cozy and well stocked. we loved the ski in/ski out access (a short walk to a green trail) and the hot tub! our hosts Juan and Morella were extremely responsive and friendly. we had an amazing time and hope to be back soon!

My family and I had a wonderful experience staying here. It is a beautiful home with an amazing view/surrounding. Matt, our host, was very friendly and super helpful. Definitely looking forward to renting this beautiful Donnelly home for our future visits again :) 10/10

What a beautiful home! Very peaceful and lots to do! My family and I had such a lovely time! Tina and Pete were very gracious hosts! They answered every question I asked and I asked a lot! This was our first time in Montana and they were very helpful! We felt very blessed to stay at their oasis!

Cindy's place is a beautiful retreat in a private, peaceful north woods setting, overlooking a small kettle lake (kayaks available). We felt very comfortable, enjoying the surrounding views of the woods from all the windows. Bathrooms, kitchen, and refrigerator were all clean and fully functional. The kitchen was well-stocked with all we needed to make our meals there, including cooking tools and utensils as well as basic condiments, spices, etc. The hot tub was a relaxing experience, and easy to use. Wall-to-wall carpet throughout made it comfortable underfoot and contributed to the homey decor, which featured bears, moose, and pine tree imagery. Downtown Kalispel is a short drive away, and is an engaging tourist town, with lots of restaurants, shops, etc. - a great place to stroll around. Cindy has a great selection of maps and guides available so you can make the most of your stay. The nearby areas are spectacular for driving and hiking. We had a wonderful time under the Big Sky!

Great location on the lake! close enough to town and amenities. The views from the deck are incredible! We grilled each night and loved eating outside with a view! You can walk down to the lake (a bit of a hill) and hang out by the water. The beds were really comfortable. The host was very nice. She greeted us upon arrival, showed us around and answered any questions. She was also very kind by providing a few local treats. We would love to come back and stay again in the future.
