Tiny house vacation rentals in Watauga County

I needed a home away from home to base my cooking & baking help for Hurricane Helene recovery, and this cozy little cabin was just perfect. The setting and drive was beautiful, the neighborhood doggies were friendly, and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. My family joined me for the last few days of my nearly month-long stay, so it was tight for all of us, but definitely do-able. I appreciated the quick communication on my questions, and proactive care with an incoming winter storm. Would definitely stay again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The location is extremely secluded and exactly what we were looking for in a weekend getaway. Our hosts were very accommodating, as they even attempted to stay up to greet us as we came in quite late due to me not abiding the instructions they listed to ensure you are routed to the correct side of the river. We enjoyed plenty of games of darts and billiards as well as relaxing outside on the suspended bed and in the hot tub. We were warned that the hurricane ruined fishing from the river but we still went down to drown some worms in the fast moving current. I highly recommend this location as a great getaway from it all while there are still plenty of places to visit in the area as well.

We had a great time at Chalet Alpine in Hound Ears!! Beautiful surroundings and fantastic views of nature (saw a few does and fawns!) As someone who’s been coming to Hound Ears for years (as a child) it was so special coming back and showing it to my boyfriend! We had a wonderful stay! Thank you!

What a pleasant place to stay at! Exactly what my wife and I had hoped for our anniversary. Super quiet and peaceful. The place was nice and clean and there were easy instructions for anything needed. My wife enjoyed reading on the back deck while I would go fishing. I was able to catch 1 brown trout (if you're there to fish, check out Deep South Co Outfitters up on 19) Definitely go check out the falls across the river while you're there, it's a nice short hike to them. If you're looking for a nice peaceful retreat away from it all, this is it!

•comfy beds and living room set up •clean kitchen with needs covered. •details like Flip-flops for walks to the hothub, make up towels, and smores sticks were covered. the driveway was big enough to turn around in so driving up or down the mountain driveway was smooth (we were in a prius with snow and had no issue at all) host was available as needed and even sent someone to assist when there was a fireplace issue

A warm (even when brutally cold out) inviting cabin with lots of room and everything necessary! A lovely spirit in this place. No wifi, but I had a decent cell signal so I didn’t feel too isolated.

I chose this cabin specifically to celebrate my mother’s birthday, just one week to the day before the WNC floods. She was just awe struck the whole weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Nestled beside a tranquil brook, this cozy cabin is the perfect retreat for those looking to unplug and unwind… or use as a home base as you see all the sights around it! Surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a serene escape with the soothing sound of running water that beckons you to relax. It has two patios overlooking the beautiful river below so you can sit and enjoy. The cabin's rustic charm is complemented by modern amenities, making it a seamless blend of comfort and nature. This hidden gem is a sanctuary of peace! The only con I can imagine is the master bathroom is very petite, but there is a second, larger bathroom.

Had a lovely and relaxing stay here. The location was convenient and the environment was beautiful! The place was very clean and cozy. I have already planned my second trip here. I’d highly recommend staying here!

Definitely will come back if I’m needing a place to stay in Boone ! I would definitely recommend to friends/family! And would definitely recommend AWD for winter months !

After settling home from our trip to sugar grove NC it is time to write a review. Our stay on the property was outstanding! It is the perfect remote location to relax and unwind whether you’re traveling solo, as a family or a couple. Our stay in the airstream was top notch with an immaculate view of the stars from the hot tub every night and plenty to do on the property during the day. We loved looking at the art throughout the woods and going on walks during the day and at dusk. As two childless adults we had a blast on the water slide and feeding the animals, as well as visiting the town of Boone for shopping and “trashcan falls” right up the road. The only pointer id give to the next guest is to bring a few tupperware containers if you decide to cook so that you can save what is leftover. Other than that the airstream was equipped with everything we needed and then some! I will highly recommend a stay on magic mountain and look forward to visiting again.

What a neat place! We stayed 4 adults and 2 children in this tiny home and each family felt like they had their own space and private bathroom. It worked out quite well. The home is fairly small, but large enough for two families to all function and have space. The main living area is kind of tight to find room for 6 people to gather and communicate, play board games, etc, but it is doable. The property was very pretty and quiet, and the weather was amazing in early August. We kept windows open most of our stay and it felt like the AC was on outside! The extremely steep gravel driveway is fairly treacherous and absolutely requires a capable 4WD vehicle to get out of, but the owner does provide parking space on the main street above the driveway, so you do not have to traverse the driveway if you do not want to. I would recommend this place. Overall a great stay and we made memories with friends.

Kristen’s place was awesome. Super easy to get to off of the Bypass & allowed for lower level parking if you do not drive an SUV. We absolutely loved the tiny home! A perfect stay if you’re looking for something quiet where you can turn on the fireplace and just hang out. This wasn’t an issue for us but if you’re looking for something quiet without noise this might not be the choice for you - there is a nearby busy road. As long as you’re fine with car noises it’ll be an amazing stay. I will be booking with Kristen again!!

Pie in the Sky is one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever stayed! We went here for my brother’s bachelor trip and got to play some card games and watch movies for an entire weekend. The view is beautiful and the location is a great weekend disconnect from anything else going on in your life!

Divine tree house! Everything you need for a glamping experience.

The perfect peaceful getaway. We loved this place! My husband and I spent two nights here for our anniversary, and it was a beautiful getaway. The birdhouse is cozy and pleasant. We loved the decor, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The view from the windows is breathtaking, while still feeling private. Mandy was a great host! She made everything super easy for us, and her instructions for checking in and out were simple and clear. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family!

Perfect weekend getaway! While on our trip I proposed to my girlfriend of 5+ years. Diane went over the top to make sure my fiancé and I had a wonderful stay. We would love to visit again!

Beautiful, cozy cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Buck greeted me and let me know a few things about the historic one room cabin. Easy access to Boone and Blowing Rock. Loved, loved, loved!!

My husband & I truly enjoyed our stay at Daddy's Dream. We enjoyed the location between Boone and West Jefferson. The weather was very cold but the house was warm and cozy!A welcome surprise was the Christmas tree farm. We bought our beautiful tree here, making our tree special this Christmas season. We enjoyed watching people picking out their tree from our porch. The animals made us feel at home. It was nice meeting Maritza and her husband when we bought our tree. Such a great weekend! Hope to go back next year!

Dana was so welcoming and easy to get in contact with. Her home was exactly as pictured and offered breathtaking views of the mountain. It was a perfect space for my husband and I on our 5th anniversary weekend getaway!

Shelley provided a guidebook prior to check in that listed all of the instructions we would need to check in. Not only that, but it listed how to access wifi, local recommendations, and more. Everything I could’ve needed was accessible on my phone before we even checked in, and the place was cozy and clean. Would 10/10 stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Not only was this one of the best houses I've stayed in in recent years, but Lani and Christian were some of the best hosts as well. Lani made sure we had all of the information we needed for the stay ahead of time and made sure to let us know that she was available for anything we might have needed throughout, she even gave us a weather warning update to prepare us in case we didn't check on our own. Lani and Christian went so far as to set up the firepit for us ahead of time so we could just light it and enjoy, they also introduced us to their farm animals and gave us a small tour! They were extremely welcoming and made the place feel like home. The property was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, the location was perfect for a quiet get away, but not too far from town and you could tell every inch of the cabin was thoughtfully designed. This was all around an excellent stay. We will absolutely be back in the future and definitely recommend staying here!!
