We had such a great stay! The location is perfect with a mall across the street and lots of restaurants and shops. The host was very responsive which was nice because we got in later at night. The place was extremely clean which is super nice when on the road! I would definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Ollie's place. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and was so close (less than 5 minutes walk) to Yarm's high street. The Dye House was a lovely size for the two of us and our dog. We loved having a drink in the Arbor with Ollie and Ellie and learning about the history of his house and gardens. Yarm is a beautiful town with some lovely walks and we would love to come back and stay here again. Also, our dog, Diesel loved it and was very welcome at the accommodation. Thank you Ollie!

This largish well apportioned apartment was just the ticket for our trip to Sunderland. Located in a lovely quiet suburb of Edwardian(?) houses the flat is on the second floor of a three story house. Clean and functional it was a convenient ten to fifteen minute walk to the city centre which was ideal. Not far from the Ivy House pub where there is a great selection of real ales and a tasty pizza offering. Key box entry was easy with parking outside in the lane was a bonus. Shower was good also. The apartment was spotless and clean reasonably priced - served our needs well.

Fabulous stay to see Durham and the surrounding are. We had a 6 month old baby with 4 adults and the place was brilliant for soundproofing, but enough WiFi for the monitor and Senna was happy to help in any way. Would recommend and come back again! Thank you.

We loved loved loved this place! Hoping to come back soon. The house was perfect for my family (2 adults and 2 kids). The kids loved the enclosed garden, the toys and games around the place. I loved the utility room (I know 🤦‍♀️😂), the living room space, the en-suite and the kitchen/dining space. I also really loved the location, we walked to the beach and the park each day. The whole estate was quiet and friendly. Gary was proactive in giving great (free) ideas of what we could do when the weather changed. He was friendly and helpful without interrupting our holiday. I cannot put into words how much we loved the house. There were so many lovely touches round the house (like automatic lights on the stairs) which made the house exciting to the kids. We loved this property and would definitely book it again!

This is our second stay in a Wooden Star Cottages property and it won't be our last. The furnishings are immaculate, the kitchen is properly outfitted, and the location is outstanding. There are many thoughtful details in the property, but the best recommendation is the bed and linens are top-notch and everyone in our party including a three year old, slept wonderfully well. Thank you Sam and Vicky for your hospitality. We look forward to staying with you, again!

Ideal hub for myself and kids. Very comfortable, excellent kitchen and fast broadband. Would have preferred a better parking spot as I have a large car and needed to mount full kerb to access parking. I didn’t fancy parking on street as it was adjacent to small junction. Just something to note. Aside from that, very happy. Thank you very much

We were staying up there for my Sons wedding , then we stayed on a little over Christmas to see the children . The Ubers are amazing and I just downloaded the app ‘Uber eats ‘ as well and they can do a shop for you from the Coop ,Sainsbury’s and Tesco and more . Uber travel was very good and reasonable . Area of house is great for Newcastle , Durham or Bernard castle area . Rooms are a good size , beds comfortable. Walking for elderly parents was nice and they increased their fitness immensely , as the fresh air has helped them along with the trips to the countryside which is all around . Very Clean throughout . Comfy sofa and large chair. Great for a family . Garden is enclosed and very safe . Rachel has been a very kind host , and fast to respond to any querys , I would recommend the area and the home , the locals are friendly and there’s a Tesco express which has a bit of everything , in walking distance . Warm and welcoming, banister on stairs plenty of cupboards . A*

We enjoyed our stay in this property, it was decorated to a high standard and had a good amount of space for our needs. It had almost all the facilities we needed to celebrate Christmas (we needed to buy a few more trays for the oven but that was about it). One thing to be aware of that we missed when booking is that the bathroom is downstairs at the back of the house, behind the kitchen, which was a bit of a surprise as we didn't remember seeing that noted before booking, however didn't cause us too many issues during the visit. The only other thing to note is there were a few minor maintenance issues (missing/dead light bulbs for example) that should be fixed, however again this didn't cause any problems during the stay, just something that could be improved to fully bring out the potential of the space.

Seldom is where we stay one of the highlights of our trip, but this townhouse definitely was. It was absolutely amazing. It was warm and comfortable after coming in from our chilly all day excursions. The beds were comfortable, the house extremely clean and the amenities absolute perfection.

Fantastic, professional and welcoming hosts, who pride themselves in providing the best stay possible! Barry and Sue provided folders filled with local amenities, garages, local companies and more if you have car issues etc. The flat is gorgeously decorated from an interior lovers perspective with everything you need. This included local garages in case your car breaks down or needs a spare part. The communal gardens provided beautiful views of the river Swale and within walking distance to the centre of Richmond. The flat very much felt like home during our stay :) Very peaceful, fantastic area and friendly locals.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean and tidy. Nice area and very quiet, garden and hot tub were very private. Has everything and more that we needed. Paid for decorations for birthday party and it was above expectations. Left a little treat for the dog too which was lovely. Would 100% recommend, and would go again.

The accommodation is stunning, immaculate and totally as described. our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, they were quick to respond to our queries, were flexible to requests and very welcoming. When we come back to Durham, our first place to look at will be this gem of a property. What a great find

Great apartment in good location very close to Newcastle Quayside. Good communication after booking right up to check-in. Apartment was spotless. Would recommend!

Lynn communicated promptly from the moment of booking (and during our stay), making us aware of everything we needed to know. Only stayed two nights but really enjoyed our short break. Lovely accommodation & ideal for access to beach & sea front for long walks in the sunshine (or runs/bike rides if you prefer). Beautiful views from the accommodation & plenty of places to go & things to do ... without needing the car. Thanks for having us.

Karen is good to deal with, communications were excellent, and she picked us up from the train station which was handy. The flat is great, more spacious and more natural light than I had expected. Location is good, 2 minutes walk from the Baltic, close to the Glasshouse (both of which are worth a visit) and the Millenium Bridge across to the Quayside at Newcastle. There's a bus stop right outside the apartment block, and the Metro is only quarter of an hour away near the very large Tesco. Restaurants - Lui's was excellent; Babucho very good, as was Ravel Indian; Pitcher and Piano has great views by the Tyne, but was very noisy Friday and Saturday nights. The Hooch was a great place for a drink with nice music; Station East was very quirky. We went to Laing art gallery (good cafe too) which was very good, and the Cathedral. If you're adventurous, a 45 minute walk to Saltwell Park (buses are available) was worthwhile as the weather was great.

Great location with lots or restaurants and cafes within a 5 min walk, with Gosforths busy high street at the end of the Avenue. Good transport links with lots of buses into the city centre and two Metro stations within a 10 min walk, opening up access to the whole of the North East. The flat is warm and comfortable and well equipped, and will be where we stay whenever we visit Newcastle in future. Thank you Cat for a perfect week.
