Vacation rentals with lake access in Washington

It was a wonderful experience, excellent location, very comfortable rooms and the service and response from the host was punctual, it is definitely worth staying here, all the amenities made my family feel comfortable. If you have plans to visit Baltimore or Washington DC I recommend staying here.

Debbie took us in at the last moment (next day) and was kind and flexible when our arrival time kept changing. Her guest studio is spacious and clean, and the kitchen better outfitted than we expected from the pictures (there's an electric stove). While advertised as a "basement" studio, theree are windows looking out into the yard, which is quaint and a nice place to study. Whetstone lake is a 5 minute walk down the street, and a pleasant 30-60 minute to walk around it. Restaurants, convenience stores, and pharmacy are a 10 minute walk from the house. NIST-Gaithersburg, our destination, is a 10 minute drive. So really this place is ideal for NIST visitors, as Debbie advertises. Bottom line: spacious, tidy, quaint and conveniently located for hikes, shopping/eating, and NIST. Thanks, Debbie!

The location is safe with restaurants and grocery store in proximity. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. The king size bed is on a platform so slightly lower but did not present an issue. Thoughtful touch was a garment rack and floor length mirror in master bedroom. Small separate office work space on this level and decent wifi. Bathrooms were spotless with good quality bath mats and towels. The decor is as picture - sleek with touches such as books and bedside end tables with lights. Upper level offered small seating area with tv and two separate queen bedrooms with doors into shared style bathroom. We only used one upper bedroom but closet had ample space for extended stay. Recommendations for nearby coffee shop and restaurants are provided. Although we did not cook, the kitchen was well equipped and offered cleaning supplies. An small outdoor patio for relaxing off of main level. Overall I would recommend. Suggestions: a chair in master bedroom and extra paper products.

I attended a conference in DC with my research group, and this large house was ideal for us, on top of being a great value. It is about 6 miles from downtown, is very well equipped, and is in a nice and diverse neighborhood, with all kinds of restaurants and international grocery stores. The only thing one should be aware of, is traffic in and around Washington. We used the “leave later” feature in Waze to plan for the best departure time every morning. Highly recommended for any large family or group.

We had an amazing stay at this charming farmhouse w our young kids and elderly parents! The property was perfect for a relaxing getaway that we all needed. The chickens were a delight, and collecting fresh eggs was a unique experience. I cant tell you how much my kids love it. The pond added a serene touch, and the outdoor movie setup was a fantastic way to end our days. The host Hannah were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. She is so pleasant to work with and very responsive. She sent us the local recommended restaurant list and we love them all. We did a day trip to Washington DC easily from this location. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful retreat! Such an amazing airbnb stay and we will come back.

Stayed here during our bike ride on the C&O trail. It was about 1 mile off of the trail, and very easy to find. It was exactly what we needed. Multiple showers, two bedrooms, and laundry-everyone in our group was able to get refreshed for another day on the trail! There weren’t restaurants in the area, but plenty of options on DoorDash. Our beds were extremely comfortable. This was our best stay on the trail for sure!

This was, without a doubt, THE best AirBnB that we have ever stayed in. Super host Anne. Nicely loaded refrigerator, wines and even a homemade quiche for us! Unbelievable. My wife and I are still talking about it. We’d go back in a heartbeat.
