#Cheerful 3 Bedroom home near the beach

ErinaRating, 5 stars15 months ago
After staying at Benny's we feel like we have come back from a beautiful remote island getaway. The outdoor area was so lush and it was so peaceful, we loved sitting outside and listening to the ocean waves in the distance. My partner and I struggled to be out at the check out time due to Aimz Games and the hectic traffic there was on top of school drop off being a 45 min drive turning into an almost 2 hour drive.. But Benny was super helpful, even going as far as helping me to carry my luggage for me! we highly recommend staying here if you need a quiet getaway by the sea. Absolutely loved it, wish we could have stated longer!!

Executive Holiday Home in Prime Mount Location

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house was perfect for our group of 5 adults and was in an amazing location. There was plenty of space for everyone to lounge and relax, and we loved how close it was to the beach and great cafes in town. There is a small Four Square supermarket about 10 mins walking distance which has plenty of supplies (including Mount Sourdough Co bread!) and a larger New World supermarket that was a short drive away. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook meals at home, and for coffee making had both a French press and a coffee pod machine and a milk steamer. The Mount Surf Co sells coffee pods from Flight Coffee and was our favorite place to restock the pods. We loved our stay and would definitely return :)

Perfect retreat - 5 bedroom home with pool and spa

MilénaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Tara’s place is absolutely stunning. It’s even better than the photos. The heated swimming pool and the spa were so lovely even in this early winter. The two lounges provided us with enough space for our group of 8 adults + 1 toddler. The kitchen is very large and well equiped, there’s pretty much anything you need to cook a home meal. All the beds were comfortable and the house was warm, the fireplace system works well to dispatch the heat in all the rooms. The two bathrooms are modern and clean, added bonus for the bath which was handy for our daughter. Location is great, neighbourhood very quiet. The only thing that is worth noting is that we had 3 people in our group with dust mites allergies and they had a hard time during our stay unfortunately. The carpet and couch could use a deep clean (dust, dog hair and dog smell) but it’s not too noticeable if you don’t have allergies. Tara has been considerate of all our questions so no doubt she’ll do her best to improve this.

Gran's House

We only stayed one night but had a fantastic time. The house is gorgeous inside and out. My daughter loved the wrap around deck and being able to see the cows next door. The house provided the perfect amount of light and privacy at the same time which was lovely. We will definitely come and stay again sometime in the future. Thanks so much for having us!

This is a very clean and comfortable house. It felt cozier and cleaner than other places I've stayed in for the past two months. Additionally, I appreciate the host providing accurate information without the need for separate messages.

Your guide to Waihi Beach

All About Waihī Beach

Located on the Bay of Plenty two hours southeast of Auckland, the vibrant town of Waihī Beach is a gateway to New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsula.

The town’s main attraction is the beach, a six-mile-long sandy shoreline that is fringed with pohutukawa trees and dotted with sun bleached driftwood. The gentle waves are perfect for playing in the surf or swimming in the patrolled areas, and there is plenty of space to spread out, even on the busiest summer days.

Just a 10-minute drive away, you will find the historic gold mining town of Waihī, which is home to the Waihī Gold Discovery Centre, a museum that showcases the region's gold mining industry. Additionally, you’ll find hiking and biking trails in the nearby Karangahake Gorge, including the Hauraki Rail Trail, a coastal track that leads through historic towns and past relics of the old mining industry.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Waihi Beach

With relatively mild weather all year round, Waihī is a great four-season destination. The summer months feature long, sunny days that are perfect for being on and in the water. This is a popular time to secure Waihī Beach holiday rentals. In the spring and fall, the temperatures drop a bit, which is just fine if your aim is to explore the many nearby hiking trails. During the winter, the weather is often cold and damp, so pack a few extra layers of clothing and an umbrella.

Top things to do in Waihi Beach

Waihī Arts Centre & Museum

Situated in the town of Waihī, the Waihī Arts Centre & Museum is where you can learn about the area’s gold mining past or view the newest art additions created by local artists. Geology samples, mining models, antique tools, and historical photographs are all on display here.

Karangahake Gorge

Located just a 20-minute drive west of Waihī, the Karangahake Gorge was once a bustling gold mining site. Today, you can wander along a historic 4.5-mile walkway as it curves alongside the Ohinemuri River. Or take a stroll on the hour-long Windows Walk, which traverses old gold mining tunnels and across cliffs of the Waitawheta Gorge. Both trails offer a glimpse into the area's mining heritage, along with spectacular scenery of the gorge.

Hauraki Rail Trail

This 100-mile-long bike trail starts at Kaiaua and goes all the way to Matamata. The trail passes right by the town of Waihī, and this is one of the only places where you can still spot the century-old railway that once served as the lifeline of the North Island. A small section of the trail passes through the Karangahake Gorge.
