The Angelus "Millefiori"

Mijn ruimte is vlakbij My 15th century house is in the medieval quarter of Chinon, within minutes of town center, riverfront and castle and all historic sites. Excellently placed for Loire Valley adventure!. You’ll love being transported back in time in a house that has been inhabited for over 600 years. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.. Je zult genieten van mijn plek vanwege You have your own private bathroom - it is really more like a hotel. Very secure and quiet building. I or Marcel will meet you and get you settled...please be aware, this is a very old building, there are lots of stairs! We will always help with luggage when we can. You have a key to your room and an access code to the entrance which is actually on "rue Pot de Chambre" - Chamberpot Street. The breakfast room is open during the morning only if you choose to have breakfast (8 euros for continental breakfast). We will try to be around to help you in any way possible. Marcel does not speak English, so if you do not speak French you will need to get a hold of me. Who doesn't love cobblestone streets and gingerbread houses? Chinon is a real medieval town and was a favorite of the Plantagenet kings. The Templars were headquartered here and were imprisoned in Chinon castle where you can still see their graffitti. Joan of Arc stayed in Chinon trying to convince the king that her cause was worthy...and don't forget the wonderful wine, Chinon is a wine producing terroir with its own appellation, and plenty of excellent cheeses and other local delicacies to go with it. The River Vienne is a tributary of the Loire, and many castles are within a 1 hour car ride. The train station is only a 12 minute walk - I know because I do it all the time. If you need a ride somewhere we can probably work something out. As you can imagine, parking in a town with ancient and narrow streets can be tricky. I can give you some pointers and will help you strategize your parking plan (Sundays are free in the "pay" zones for example, and you have to watch out for weekly market day which is Thursday). A little fifteen minutes from the Center Parck near Trois Moutiers, this cottage can accommodate a family of 5 people on 2 bedrooms ( 1 for the couple, the other with 3 beds). It is located in a beautiful classified site with hiking path and woods. This cottage is located, in the photo, on the left part (totally autonomous) of the longhouse. Proximity: Chinon, medieval town and its fortress, Fontevrault, its abbey, and the castles of the Loire ( Azay le Rideau).

Beyond our expectations, in every way! The charming village of Saint-Catherine to start with and this beautiful period building that invites us to slow down, with a contemplative step. Anna and Christophe make this gem a tribute, an ode almost to these ancient times. Apart from the prestige services that the place makes available, what you will be looking for, is more of a story, which requires to be explored, revived, inside the villa's iconic living rooms, such as its winter garden, or its period smoking room. Anna and Christophe will gladly tell you about its history as well as theirs, that of two enthusiasts, who have managed to keep and sublimate. Thanks to them, and very much spring, for us to rediscover this Eden.

We only stayed one night at the Relais de la Touraine but we had a very good night there. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very generous and excellent. Finally, Annabelle was a very accommodating and friendly host. The little extra, we were able to leave with good bottles. If we were to return to the area we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Marie -Anne is a fantástic host who will welcome you warm and friendly. Everything is very clean and nice decorated, we could stay with the dog in another room. The woodburner was burning when we arrived. Só nice! This was the 3rd time we stayed at this cosy place on our way to Portugal. There is also plenty of space for the dog to play around the house. We will certainly be back again🌻
