The perfect getaway to press pause on life for a few days! Very peaceful and private. Fiona was a brilliant host. Everything was thought of and there were personal touches and surprises in every draw. The homemade white chocolate and raspberry cookies were gorgeous. Would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back again soon.

Peaceful get away for a change of scenery. I was really impressed with how well stocked the hut was, far better than many other larger places I’ve stayed. Very welcoming touches including some dog treats :) Very warm not at all cold!! No need to worry about that. It was great I would come again !!

We had a great stay, was relaxing and a great location for walks, sightseeing etc. Mandy and Andy both very friendly and helpful. Would recommend booking ahead for any local pubs/restaurants as they are few and far between within a 10-20 min drive and busy at weekends/peak times, also bring a 12v charger for charging within the hut otherwise there are 3 point plugs 100m across the yard which can be used.

Thankfully we bumped into Sally’s neighbour who walked us to the site. ( we ended up becoming friends with them!) The accommodation wasn’t very clean, but it was well stacked with everything we needed and more. Beds and pillows were terrifically comfortable. Bath was heaven, evenings and mornings were paradise. Loved eating al fresco and the site contained everything to make us relax. A special thanks for bread, REAL coffee! Eggs, butter and milk! We loved it and would love to return. Just more attention required to housekeeping!

Perfect location for exploring Shaldon and Teignmouth, the hut was cosy but had everything you needed, toilets and showers were seconds away and were v. clean, would say the bed was a bit hard but all in all was very happy with my stay and would recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Adam’s hut, really sweet little spot, and private. You can hear people on the road but it’s only a small village so it’s very few and far between. Very magical setting in such a pretty part of the uk. Totally worth a visit. Adam was very responsive if we had any question (e.g. about the hot tub, we kind of stupidly thought maybe it would already be warm and wondered why after having lit the fire it wasn’t warm yet but we just had to wait a little longer then it really warmed up and was lovely! But it does take a good few hours to get it really hot). The little log burner in the cabin really heats it up quick too and it’s easy to light up. They had kindling and eco fire starters so it was super quick to get lit. Overall a lovely little space and great host :)

As described. The cabin provides for a really cosy and memorable short stay near Exeter within easy reach of the coastal placew like Dawlish.

A perfect getaway.. brilliant host.. was very clean and the personal touches were a welcomed surprise.. very cleverly made use of a small space with as much storage as possible.. communication was excellent and as Gill knew we were going to arrive until quite late put the heating and lights on making our arrival cosy.. cannot fault our stay and look forward to returning 😀

Our stay at the Shepards hut was wonderful. The location was beautiful and very private with our own entrance and garden. We loved the little personal touches especially the hanging ornaments tree. Gail was a great host very helpful and precise, she provided lots of information about local areas and clear instructions with how to get to the shepards hut. We had no troubles at all when staying with Gail. Overall a great stay and will hopefully be staying again sometime in the future.

A great place to stay and explore Dartmoor. The views from the hut are amazing and the hut itself is a fun experience. Simon is a delightful host and always quick to help out - Thanks for a fantastic stay!

We recently stayed at Andreas Shepherd's Hut in Cruxton, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in a serene rural setting, the hut offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodation was charmingly rustic yet comfortably modern and the interior was well-appointed with thoughtful touches that made it feel cosy and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable and the small kitchenette was equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay which we made the most of both mornings and evenings. The hut's location was perfect. Surrounded by apple trees and rolling hills, it's ideal for leisurely walks, relaxing outside with the fire pit or enjoying the private space alongside the river. The lack of light pollution in the area allowed us to view the Milky Way when stargazing one evening which was the perfect addition to our stay. Andrea was super accommodating, ensuring that everything was in order and even dropped off a homemade Dorset apple cake!

We had a lovely couple of nights in Herdwick hut at Laverstock farm. The farm is gorgeous and we enjoyed walking around it seeing the animals, particularly the pygmy goats, and even had a couple of games of table tennis in the games room. The area around the hut is very private and peaceful, although you could hear some chatter from the cottages above at times. The hut itself is really pretty and cosy and we loved being greeted by the cows in the adjacent field. The separate kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed evenings by the fire pit, with the added bonus of marshmallows left by the host! One thing to mention is that the shared washroom is a walk away, up by the cottages, but it was clean and offered products and towels. A relaxing and lovely stay.

Our stay at Nicola’s shepherd's hut was absolutely delightful. The location is idyllic, offering a serene escape where you can fully relax and immerse yourself in nature. The hut was incredibly clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy and comfortable retreat. Nick and her mum were both amazing hosts, ensuring that everything was perfect for our stay. Their hospitality truly made the experience special. I highly recommend this charming shepherd's hut for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful getaway.

The welcome from Karen and Simon was exceptional as was the Victoria sponge cake and the amazing breakfast provided. The only way we can describe our experience is that Karen and Simon have established a little piece of heaven on earth. Thank You Damian and Laura

Our weekend stay ended up in the middle of a big storm. The hosts looked after us amazingly throughout. They gave us options to rebook and even found us alternative accommodation in the power cut, we chose to go ‘off grid’ and they immediately offered wood and left us tea lights, torches a stove kettle and some delicious fudge! We had an amazing stay in the beautiful hut and will definitely be returning. The river, wildlife, views and peaceful surroundings were just what we needed. Thank you to Clive and Nikki for being friendly, supportive and professional. We couldn’t ask for better hosts.

I had the best few days at Sallys shepherds hut. It was exactly as described (in fact, probably more roomy than I thought it would be!) Paddy showed me around when I arrived and I could contact them both if I needed anything. The hut had all the essentials that I needed and being able to park right next to it was really helpful. A few days away for some peace and quiet was just what I was after and it absolutely delivered. My spaniel loved the field to run around in too, just opening the door in the morning to let him run outside was nice. The weather wasn’t the best (very rainy) but to come back and light the fire to warm up was great and the hut holds heat well, I wasn’t cold at all. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and I’d highly recommend it. Perfect location for hikes, getting to the beach and some lovely pubs in the village for dinner. The copper kettle is great for breakfast too! I didn’t want to leave! Thanks again Sally and Paddy for everything.

wow!!! We can't wait to come back, Chloe gave us a warm welcome, told us about what was going on in the local area that weekend and was able to recommend local pubs, there was additional information in the welcome back which was very helpful. we loved everything about the hut and the love the added touches too. Off-grid gem!! Bathed as the sun came up, in rosemary and bay infused water. Dined looking out across the hill, woke up to a bird watching window. A wealth of details and individual touches and we had great fun discovering each one. Worth rummaging in cupboards! Very inspiring and cosy in winter, would be sensational in summer. Andrew went above and beyond as host. Would stay again.

Lovely stay. Peaceful, quiet and romantic. Near to local amenities would need a car to fully utilise. Short drive to seatown with a very impressive beach.

Exactly as advertised and the fresh home made bread and ginger cake was a nice touch. The local pub was great for food

Thank you to Clare & Luca. We loved staying here for our first anniversary, it was really special. The decor and attention to detail was outstanding but felt homely and safe. We loved having a board game night (games provided) & felt there was so much to do! We enjoyed, reading in the hut, watching a film, making pizza (definitely not experts lol) & fire making to use the hot tub! We would love to come back again in the Spring/Summer time, although this place is amazing for all seasons. The hosts were so friendly and attentive. Clare was lovely enough to even bring round a bottle of prosecco for us! We have no faults of this stay & think it’s an excellent property and value for money. We can’t wait to come again!! xx
