Vacation rentals in Tamworth

We really enjoyed our weekend in the lodge. It's in a lovely location, very close to the lake which is beautiful. We enjoyed a great walk all the way around it, and there is a good cafe selling tasty breakfast baps and great cakes very close by. It was great to have a garden which the dogs enjoyed and we enjoyed the hot tub every evening. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to sit outside, but it would have been very nice to sit on the balcony listening to the birdsong and enjoying the peace and quiet. There was everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment, towels, blankets and books. Thanks for the dog treats and very welcome bottle of wine which went down well after traffic holdups on the M6. But the drive was worth it!

This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Had a short stay at Barley Croft lodge. Ray was great he rang to check if everything was ok with our lodge and was very polite and helpful. The lodge is in lovely surroundings with lots to do locally. It was ideal for our 1 year old daughter who could wander on the veranda safely and look at the two donkeys in the adjacent field. The lodge has everything you need and is close by the villages of Melbourne and Breedon have places to visit. An all around great experience. Thank you Ray.

Great location for Alton Towers. Apartment was clean and spacious and in a great location. Lots of shops and food places nearby. Would recommend to friends and stay again.

This was such a peaceful place to stay for a long weekend! The lodge is spacious with a well equipped kitchen, comfy seating area and large veranda. As it's the end of the run it felt private and the view of trees and sound of birdsong was very relaxing. Just what we needed!

This was a lovely stay in a very peaceful and quaint town. The property was really nice. Clean, quiet and with everything we needed to feel at home. The host, felicity, was very helpful and communicative during our stay to make sure that we were happy. We used it as a base to visit Alton towers and it was perfect. We will definitely return!

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. This is a great hidden gem in the country side! Perfect for a relaxing summer afternoon/evening overlooking stunning views. The place was super clean and tidy and felt very welcoming. Abigail was super informative about the local area and how to access the cabin. Thanks for having us.
