Vacation rentals with a kayak in Southern Maryland

We booked this place to stay while duck hunting. We enjoyed cooking at the house and relaxing by the water in the evening. Would recommend staying here.

Everything about this home was perfect for our family of four that loves the Bay. Peaceful, amazing views, well stocked, comfortable, private pier with kayaks, a zillion movie and game choices, close to NNK towns. The hot tub was a bonus. By the end of the weekend we wanted to move in! And the next door pup Bella was the sweetest. Thank you, we will be back for sure!

Responsive and communicative via AirBnb app. Open to small changes we had to make. Beautiful house and wonderful neighborhood. Everything as described and reasonable price. Truly provided the BnB part of AirBnb with linens, cleaning/cooking supplies, and bathroom supplies. Very scenic. The pictures don't do it justice when it comes to the proximity of the dock. It is right outside the window of the master bedroom.

We had a relaxing weekend at the river. We had so much privacy and were super happy with the house

It was very peaceful and relaxing. Our dogs loved exploring the fenced in yard. The view is amazing even on a cold, cloudy day.

We were at Mary & Shelly’s place for new years eve. Just family that included 3 couples, a single adult, two dogs and one 3-months old baby. For us it was perfect. The house is big, clean, and wonderful. It’s right by the river and he has a lot of things to do. I am sure this location gets fully booked during summer. But we had a great time during this time of the year as well. We had a bonfire, we made fondue, and we played games and music. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to rest and recharge away from the city. It was easy to find and a quick drive from Alexandria, Virginia. Mary and Shelly were very responsive and accommodating. Great hosts five stars for them!

We loved this snug, little spot on the water. Watching the sunrise over the water made for enjoyable mornings. It had a full kitchen that made cooking our meals very easy. Two seating areas in the living area gave us room to spread out. Fast wifi....I even stayed online while I was down by the water. I wasn't a huge fan of the overly curious swans, but I did find some really nice pieces of sea glass down by the water. The heat in this house was great.

We absolutely loved Phillip’s incredibly charming and cozy cottage! The interior is gorgeous and the exterior waterfront view will take your breath away! We spent a lot of time fishing on the dock and loved eating our bountiful catch! Lots to explore nearby in the quaint small towns of the Northern Neck! Phillip was very quick to respond to my many questions and always offered local recommendations which we really appreciated! We did a quick run to Walmart to get firewood for the outdoor pit, bait and $9 camping chairs. The chairs made our dock fishing more comfortable than the built-in dock bench. My advice is run, don’t walk, to secure a reservation at this stunning waterfront oasis! We can’t wait to return! K Helms, Clifton, VA

We had a wonderful stay at the Rivah house. it's a beautiful location and kayaks are provided. there's also a full kitchen, lots of sleeping space, and a big tv. A great place to enjoy time in the water and see a beautiful and lesser known part of Virginia.

We had such a memorable time here and felt like a little oasis! my family love the waterfront property and having an easy accessible hot tub where we sat in the evening to star gaze while hearing the waves from the bay. We would highly recommend this little paradise to our family and friends and our host were super responsive and helpful during our arrival, stay, and departure.

We had a lovely stay at Jim’s place. It is so quaint, quiet, and thoughtful. We loved the scenery, the bedside view of the sunset over the river was stunning. We slept so well, absolute peace and immediate comfort. It’s also in a really cute area, nice little local restaurants and cafes nearby, and we enjoyed walking/driving to downtown Annapolis. Only about 30 min walking & less than 10 min drive. Very easy to find, SO clean and very well designed, private and intimate, just really cute and charming spot. Jim was very friendly, responds immediately and provides all the information you could possibly need! We will definitely be returning in warming weather. Highly recommend!

I cannot find the words to express our families stay. When I say this was the best stay at an ABNB we have had thus far it was. The outside itself from the landscaping to the scenery was breathtaking. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside pictures cannot begin to show the beauty of this property. The hosts have really thought through a guest experience. They went over and beyond hosts duties adding extreme attention to details. Anything and everything you may need or want for your stay was there. Even with all the extra amenities and the beauty of the home our family instantly felt at home. We loved our stay so much we have already booked our next stay.

Before we even got there, Linda proved to be kind and helpful as we had rework to our reservation a little. Once we finally made it, we where met with a quaint and cozy home surrounded by a winter wonderland outdoors. The house has an "older" feel but with top notch appliances and fresh and clean furnishings. We especially loved to sit and sip our coffee on the closed in back porch as we watch the water and wildlife. As you can tell, we came during colder weather. But the heating system made it so we could enjoy the winter views, while staying toasty and warm. It was a delightfu stay. I look forward to coming again!

We had a wonderful long weekend here! The house is well-equipped and David was even able to secure fishing and crabbing gear so our two kids could try to catch dinner. It is a quiet street of cottages with friendly neighbors in a gorgeous location - the view is so calming. We enjoyed exploring the local area (love the coffee shop and brewery in Montross), kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on the big screened porch. A feature here that you don’t always have at the shore is a great sandy beach! Can’t wait to come back for another getaway.

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!

Had a great time at the Elderberries cottage! The views were spectacular, and you could take them in from the enclosed porch, the open deck, and even the living room. The entire setup was perfect for a vacation/remote work getaway, and the kitchen has everything you need. WiFi worked great, and the smart TV supported pretty much any streaming service you'd want. Rachel was friendly and super responsive; we hope to stay there again sometime.

My family and I spent Christmas at this cabin and we enjoyed every second of it. The cabin was clean, safe, and beautiful. We have no complaints at all. Most importantly, the hosts were super responsive and have always answered my questions within 30 minutes. I definitely want to return here for another family trip.

Great place to stay! All the staff were friendly! Had a lot of things for us to do. Close to groceries, restaurants, and shopping but still in a private area. Our hot tub didn’t work when we first got there and only the security guard was there to call. My husband reset the breaker and we had no issues with it the rest of the trip. The staff followed up with us in the morning to make sure it was working okay. Some of the bedding was outdated. Overall we were happy with our stay and would come back!

This cabin was so incredibly peaceful and beautiful! The owners were so quick to respond to any questions and were flexible with letting us check in earlier than listed! Would love to come back again, we were so satisfied with our stay!

I couldn't say enough about how incredible my experience here was. We faced a small challenge upon arrival (out of the owners control) and the host resolved the issue immediately. Our stay was incredible and they regularly checked in to ensure our satisfaction. I have never experience a more caring and engaged owner so I will definitely be back! Great spot!

Just a stunning location! The bird watching was marvelous, every morning a pair of swans landed and swam around until dusk. Lots of blue herons, too. Good fishing right out of the back yard. The kitchen was very well appointed, good cookware, plates, cups, etc. bed were comfortable with really nice pillows. We spent most of our time around the fire pit or on the screened porch. A great place for relaxing!
