Though the road is slow going it was still fine for our tiny crap rental car. The rondavel was amazing, we loved the creative architecture, food was good, water is safe to drink, and it is really neat to see the community building this hostel is doing. We felt safe but there are random people who pester you when you are walking around outside the hostel and on the beach so I recommend locking up well!

Amazing view from the room across the lagoon. Large clean and comfy room easy access to kitchen if needed for your morning tea. Great food and good value. If you have time do the soup kitchen hike, helping prepare the food for the young children and playing games with them while thefood cooked it was very humbling. Highly recommended

Great place if you are looking for cool and vibrant hostel-ish accommodation for surfing holiday. They offer surf rental and classes right at the building. Yoga classes and coffee and restaurant are also in the same building. And location is superb - right on the beach with top views. Disadvantages are noise at night (sometimes there are parties in the bar in the same building as the hostel) and not very clean kitchen.

Ali’s surf lodge was exactly as promised. Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere right on the beach. The other guests were super friendly and respectful, I got a good nights sleep and woke up early for a morning on the most perfect very empty beach. Ali sent me lost of great tips and the whole checkin process was super smooth. I would definitely come back.

The house was clean and neat and a stones throw from the beach. The back yard braai area was sheltered from the wind. Our group of 6 people was comfortably accommodated. We would definitely come back.

Had a fabulous time! Accommodation tasteful, clean and comfortable. Rosie is very friendly and helpful and the area felt very safe.

Perfect place to relax and unwind. It’s right on the beach with a pathway to get between the lodge and the beach. The drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced. Nice neat and cosy room. I highly recommend it, definitely will be back!

Lovely place to stay - strongly recommended. I stayed at the hostel for one week to explore Cape Town. Staff and guests were all very welcoming and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s a backpackers as a backpackers should be...functional, clean and affordable. The staff are the best thing about Urban! Centrally situated in the city, it is the perfect location for exploring Joburg.

The Spot is a wonderful place, I will return as much as I can. Staff are wonderful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. It is quite literally right on the beach. We got lucky to have the best weather and blue seas during our stay. Thank you, Spot Staff!

Great hostel/hotel. Clean. Located in a great location for tourists. Looks like the pictures. Very clean. Friendly service. I would recommend giving it a try, especially if you have never been in a hostel.
