Cabin vacation rentals in South Africa

We had such a lovely time! The place was incredibly clean and tidy, which made settling in so easy. We especially loved how peaceful and secluded it felt — the quiet surroundings were exactly what we needed to unwind. It was cosy and comfortable, just the way we enjoy our getaways. This spot is a perfect winter staycation, and we’d definitely book again!

We stayed in the Wheat Cabin. The view was fantastic, the cabin well equipped with everything we needed and more. The hot tub was a great addition and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabin is private and the best break away from the hustle and bustle. Lida and Kobus were fantastic hosts and ensured that we had no shortcomings, including complimentary wine and homemade bread.We will be back soon!

Had a lovely stay in the cottage. You are really out in the middle of nowhere, it is quite peaceful and quiet. Beautiful views around and the stars at night were spectacular. The included game drive was great! We saw giraffes, springbok, wildebeast and some antelope on the drive. We also saw zebras while driving on our way out. The bathtub was massive. Nice towels and robes as well. We used the pizza oven and braai and enjoyed the semi catered package. Note - there were a fair amount of flies in and around the cottage and they were quite annoying but bugs were expected with the remote location. I recommend taking a SUV vs a car when driving there.

We had an amazing 2 days here. Very peaceful! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the city. The cabin is comfy and has all you need for a relaxed timeout.

We had the most wonderful and relaxing stay at the Fynbos cabin. The hot tub was incredible and we ordered the dinner basket which was so convenient and delicious! Breakfast at the restaurant the next day was lovely too. We had a great time and will definitely be back/recommend to our friends!

What a great weekend getaway for any season. We had a wonderful time on a rainy weekend with the fire place and hot tub. The hosts were responsive and the place is fully equipped.

Even though the property is in quite a suburban street, the moment you walk through the garden gate you feel you have entered a woodland away from streets and houses. We loved sitting up on the top balcony watching all the bird activity taking place at tops of the milkwood trees. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Anton was a very responsive and accommodating host. The place is tucked away in nature which means lots of serene sounds, peace and quietness. The place is decked out with all the basic cooking stuff, guides and books to really disconnect from our city lives. Only challenge was getting our small rental car over the driveway to the cabin. Highly recommended

A truly beautiful place to stay. We went as a family of 5 (2 boys and baby). The surroundings are incredibly beautiful and plenty to do if you are looking for an adventure walk. The bon fire pit and the outside bath was the highlight of all our time! The sleeper couch was especially cosy by the fire place when it was rainy. We will definitely be back again!

What a lovely little wooden cabin. I felt like I was living in a fantasy cabin in the land of the Hobbits. Full of charm and character, yhe cabin cosy and warm, even with stormy weather outside, thanks to a lovely gas heater. Basic but well equipped kitchen. Graham is a lovely host.

It was such a treat to be a part of Helen's beautiful farm life for a week. There is a peaceful bustle about, while retaining your privacy. Helen is lovely, helpful and makes you feel right at home. The perfect cost-effective base to explore Hogsback from - and dog friendly was an absolute bonus (you even have your own fenced backyard). Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us!

Fantastic location, view, scenery from your beautiful forest cottage!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience during our stay. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The host was welcoming, responsive, and went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. The location was peaceful and relaxing. I especially appreciated the little thoughtful touches like the complimentary snacks. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

We had a peaceful and refreshing stay at this beautiful forest cabin. Surrounded by trees, birdsong (from afar and close), and a view of a mountain right in front of us, it was the perfect nature escape. We had a gas braai outside on the patio and lit the fire for a cosy winters night, playing board games. The forest trails were a bonus, and our host was super friendly and easy to contact. Highly recommend for anyone needing a quiet getaway!

I wanted peace of mind and free from social media and the town life and I got just that and more. Great place I have no words.. the caretaker was so much helpful, even faced my fear of water with his help and used the boat. Thank you so much

My stay was a unique experience. The views from the house were incredible, even better than the pictures advertised. Very easy check in and no issues with getting in and out etc. The only issue we had was that there was a power outage on the second day, but that's to be expected in South Africa. Susan, was great to communicate the issue and progress updates. She even offered us a free extra night if we wanted to stay a little longer. Would love go back one day and I highly recommend this spot.

Our stay at Matilda & Dean’s stunning home in Wilderness was absolutely unforgettable. The 180-degree sea views are simply breathtaking—pictures don’t do it justice! Every detail in the home was on point, from the cozy fireplace in the lounge to the thoughtful addition of heaters in each bedroom, which made the entire space warm and inviting despite the winter chill. The property is not only beautiful but incredibly comfortable, and you can tell that every effort has been made to ensure guests feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better winter getaway. Highly recommended!

Secondly, Die Boothuis was an exceptional experience - we loved the days spent. Our furry kids loved the environment, as we appreciated the tranquility. We'll be back in summer to explore the "cave".
