We stayed at this place for the second time (and I'm sure it won't be the last time), an island of tranquility itself.

We spent 11 days at Hedvig's place and had a wonderful, restful experience. The location is very peaceful with a great view. The house is well equipped with everything one would need, including a great grill, and was quite cosy on rain days when we stayed at home. The location is secluded, so one needs a car to get to amenities in the valley below, such as restaurants and grocery stores. There are no amenities within walking distance. The road up to the house is serpentine and steep. We took our bikes, but decided it was not very practical to use them right around the house, so loaded them on our bike rack for tours of the valley. That said, we loved the hiking and biking opportunities a short drive away, and we also took some nice hikes directly from the house. There are a great many things to do in the area, from swimming in Verenje Lake to interesting museums. Borut, the co-host, lives in a neighboring house and was always very responsive and helpful if we needed something.

Dora's home was exactly the kind of place we'd been looking for - peaceful, homey, beautiful and a great place to be with visiting friends. The hot tub and the ping pong table kept the kids busy when the adults were ready to just sit and catch up. Dora was in incredible host. When we had questions, she responded immediately and was proactive in helping us find the answers we needed.

A dream break in the hot summer. We are coming for longer next time !!

Would definitely recommend! Very friendly host, beautiful view and fully equipped apartment. Location also perfect for discovering the southeast of Slovenia. Last few meters are indeed an adventure, but perfectly manageable if you have a normal sized car.
