Apartment vacation rentals in Shiga

Tadashi is a wonderful host! He gave clear instructions for finding the inn and was very friendly, even inviting another guest and me to join him at an izakaya. The inn itself has a comfortable and convenient public area, and the rooms are spacious (though be prepared to sleep on a futon, as indicated). It’s also close to shopping in Shijo-Kawaramachi and culture in Higashiyama. I will definitely consider Seibido Inn when I am in Kyoto again!

Grandpa Tsuda is a very responsible host, and will be introduced in detail when checking in.Not only would he recommend the local neighborhood food, he drove us to a place to eat in person when it rained that day.If there is another chance to come to Kyoto in the future, I would also choose my grandfather's place.

Pros: The overall space is large, you have everything you need for your stay, and there is a separate washing machine to dry your clothes; close to Kyoto, Kiyomizu Temple, and other attractions; it is also close to supermarkets, drug stores; if there is a problem, the host is quick to respond. Cons: If you're going to take a bus, you'll need to walk a bit to get a stop; slightly poor sound insulation; fewer sockets; if you need to use the bathtub, it's a good idea to use the bathtub, and more hot water will not be enough, but it will return to normal in the morning. Overall a good stay and would be willing to visit again.

The phone no longer has electricity on the first night of coming to Kyoto. I had a really great time in Kyoto staying at Yoshimi's apartment. Travelling alone I felt very safe, the neighborhood is lovely and coming back every night after a long day around the city was like coming back to my little nest! I believe the accomodation is perfect for solo traveller. I also found great restaurants and cozy cafes in the area. I cannot raccomend it more, and of course Yoshimi is a wonderful and lovely host!

I chose a nearby place from Osaka, and I was attracted to the cheapness of staying for consecutive nights. I had a relaxing summer vacation with a Michigan cruise, club Harrier, and Aeon. There was plenty of space with 2 adults, 1 child.There was a retro public bath nearby within 1 minute, so I slowly soaked in hot water. In the morning, I went to a nearby coffee shop and a 5-minute drive to the lake morning.It was a quick drive to anything. The temperature was too hot to walk nearby, etc. On the second day, the room was cleaned, and I had a pleasant time in a clean room.It was really simple, but it was clean.The kids spent a lot of time watching YouTube on the projector. It was a quiet and easy place to stay while being in the city of Gion!Thank you for being kind to the dog.If you have a heavy suitcase or pet cart, please note that there is no elevator.Thank you for the bicycle storage!

Throughout my trip in Japan, i have been constantly impressed by the hospitality and kindness everywhere I went. Naoko and this apartment continued this trend. Naoko is super friendly and communicative, and the apartment is in a pristine location beset on all sides by great eats, views and a station! If I ever find myself in Kyoto again (i hope soon!) I will stay here once more.

We enjoyed this beautifully home for five days with our family of 4. Easy check in and great location. 5 min walk from a metro stop. Clean. Great bathrooms, comfortable bed, etc. Would recommend!

Lovely home right by the river in Kyoto and close to the main Kyoto station. Great for families with all the things you need for a baby and/or toddler.

Eri’s place was a nice warm spot to retreat to from the crowds. It was clean and had everything I need, good and spacious enough for me. Plus point that it was right next to Fushimi Inari so you can beat the crowds and check it out whenever you want. Eri was also a responsive host who answered any questions and it was easy to contact her as well. Her guidebook also gave ideas on where to go for food too :) A tip if you’re planning to stay: might want to bring a smaller luggage as the steps up to the place are quite narrow. But overall it was an awesome place to stay :)

One of the best travelling experiences I have ever had. Highly recommend Mr. Taketo’s place if you are looking for a more localized travelling experience. Mr. Taketo is a very friendly and responsive host. The apartment is warm and comfortable with a large living room and kitchen area. Everything is clean and tidy. Daily houseware essentials are all available, in case you feel cold, down vests are even provided! Electronics and buttons are all labelled with clear instructions in English. A role model for B&B apartments. Vehicle noises could be a bit loud during midnight, but the earplugs provided in the apartment alleviate the issue a lot. I have sensitive ears yet I slept very well during my 5-night stay. The apartment is not located in the tourist hotspots in Kyoto, but Yamashina Ward itself is just amazing. Friendly community, great food, beautiful river for walks, also very traditional temples nearby to visit. I followed Mr. Taketo’s guidebook and enjoyed Yamashina Ward a lot.

Very happy to have found this area to stay, the area is lively, crowded with tourists during the day. At night is tranquil and peaceful. 2 stops to Kyoto stations, very convenient and close to all transportation. Eri is very attentive and helpful. Home is very clean. I used the foot massage. We absolutely loved our stay at Ken’s place! To start, he was incredibly responsive and informative before we even arrived with all the instructions we could need to find the place with ease plus sent a whole list of fun things to do and restaurants to try. The location can’t be beat as it is incredibly walkable or with easy access to both bus and train stops. The stay was very clean and just what we needed for a few days in Kyoto! Would absolutely stay again!

We had an amazing stay at Yoshimi’s place! It was the perfect base for our stay in Kyoto and had everything we needed. The location was great - it was in a quieter area with loads of cafés, shops and places to eat but was also very central. It is clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into this apartment! We could not recommend it more and will definitely be back when we are next in Kyoto.

Excellent place. Walk to Gion/Kiyomizu-dera temple. A little bit small for two people.

We had a decent time staying here. The bed is small for the both of us to sleep in, but Taiyo's family passed us an extra futon upon request. More comfy for sleeping, but that left us little floor space to maneuver around the room. No lift, so be ready to drag your luggage up the stairs. Thankfully we were only on the second floor. Amenities were enough for the two of us. Cups, plates, some cutlery, knife & scissors. There was a tall mirror tucked by the door, but it could be moved to another part of the room for our convenience. There's a washing machine with detergent, but not much space to hang dry clothes. We didn't use it. Location is decent, about 5 to 10 minutes from the nearest bus stop and train station. Access to the train was great, made it more manageable to bring our luggage from Kyoto station. It was also just far enough from the main street that it was quiet, but still near to a Lawson, 7-Eleven, some restaurants, and even a coffee place within a few minutes walk!

Taiyo’s place is in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything! It’s a great space with a private bathroom and balcony, perfect for my solo trip. Really appreciate the early check in and late check out. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay, Seth offered recommendations for the local area and was very responsive to any questions. The house itself was perfect for our stay with older children. The rooftop bath was a beautiful way to finish the day with the Kyoto skyline as my view! Would definitely love to return if we are ever back in Kyoto.

Very comfortable stay with all amenities and good connectivity. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable . The place was very clean and they were kind enough to give a baby high chair and cutlery which made it convenient The check in process was extremely smooth as the hosts had shared clear and detailed instructions to the place. the connectivity is good with Kyoto station at a distance of 15 mins and buses connecting to most tourist attractions. Definitely recommend

Nori and Fumi were absolutely amazing, from the beginning to the end! They even received our luggages ahead of time and picked us up from the train station. The apartment was beyond our expectations; the bed was so comfortable and the biggest one we had in Japan, spacious living space and kitchen. The ability to do laundry was just icing on the cake! Breakfast was served every morning and it was delicious! Nori gave us an option of doing a traditional Japanese or American breakfast at the cool cafe. The location was right outside of the chaos of Kyoto but very close to the train/bus, restaurants, conventions stores, etc. Fumi took us to a local spot every morning and dropped us off closer to where we wanted to be and gave us recs! The experience with Fumi and Nori was just invaluable. We long to come back and visit them as they are just the most wonderful humans! It was great getting to know them and making new friends in Japan; they added so much to our trip. Thank you so much
