Cottage vacation rentals in Shenandoah River

Our first stay here and it was great! We loved all the dog friendly features that made our stay with our pup Nala a breeze. The trails were also nice, though due to it being fall and lots of leaves on the ground it was pretty hard to follow the trails but we managed with references to the maps and signs to reassure us we were on the trails. All the different activities you can do throughout were awesome and we’d definitely come back. Thank you for the great hospitality Mason!

This cottage was hands down the cutest airbnb I’ve visited! The Christmas decorations, hot chocolate bar, the beautiful yard, all 10/10. The house was so clean and smelled like Christmas. Being able to bring our dog and have a fenced in yard for her to run in was wonderful. The details in things provided around the house was amazing! We were able to cook two out of three nights without needing to buy any spices! Will definitely be booking again.

We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended for a getaway that feels remote but actually isn't too far of the beaten path. The stream and amenities are lovely. We particularly enjoyed the view from the hot tub.

This place is the perfect cozy getaway! The cabin is a great size, private, lots of fun things to do (games, record player, hot tub, etc.) and we loved our stay. It had everything you need to relax and unwind, and would recommend if you are looking for a private getaway.

Such a well designed cottage, comfortable, great kitchen supplies, high quality, comfy beds and pillows, close to walking trail and walkable to the beautiful Crozet library, as well as restaurants. Amy was very thoughtful in leaving some fog dishes and dog toys out, and also a tasty loaf of pumpkin bread. We would definitely stay again.

Amanda is quick to respond and very friendly. The space is quaint, warm, and cozy! 10/10, totally recommend. Our little chihuahua loved the backyard and we enjoyed the ease of being able to watch him from the kitchen. Cool cottage!

Perfect place to stay with your dog that backs up to Montpellier. Beautiful location for an outdoor walk. Fenced in yard was perfect and safe. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Coffee pods provided and it was an easy drive to town. Hillary was communicative and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The place is cute with the perfect mix of being out in the country yet not too far from everything. The hosts are super responsive and kind.

This is a secure gated area. Great for 2 people! Very cozy living area. Nicely decorated for the season. Would recommend to a couple who wants a place to rest thier heads, it is worth the price. I did take a small spill on the steps, make sure you are alert before venturing downstairs, in the middle of the night steps are steep. But the bed is really comfy cozy. The horses are beautiful on the property! The owners dogs are very friendly and sweet.

Even though you’re walking distance to everything, you definitely still have your privacy. It is a great place that has been well decorated and upgraded and is very comfortable. Will stay again.

We have stayed in a lot of AirB&B’s over the years, and Amy’s House has to be my favorite. We loved it so much that we are planning a return trip. Amy’s House has everything you could need during your stay. It is the most dog friendliest house I have ever seen. Billy provides a well-stocked house for both two-legged and four-legged guests. The beds were comfortable. The house was spotless and well decorated. Billy roasts have own coffee and shares with his guests. The location is lovely. We spent two days hiking in the SNP. I could have easily stayed a week. Heck, I’d move in if they let me. ;) If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, just book this house. It’s perfect. The owners are very friendly. The house is charming. You and your fur-babies will love it!

Kristina & Larry’s place is beautiful for a getaway from urban life. We celebrated Thanksgiving there and it was the perfect setting. Kristina’s kitchen has all the top of the line appliances. Pots and pans galore. If you’re a baker you would not be disappointed. The wood working fireplace was our favorite. 25 minutes from Charlottesville where our daughter lives but the escape from the city made it memorable. On a clear night we could see all the stars and since we were staying on a working farm we had goats, a cow, working dogs and woodpeckers galore. Not to mention the deer who would sleep in front. The front porch was fantastic in the morning. Has rocking chairs so one morning I had my morning coffee and experienced the sunrise while listening to the wildlife. The home is so cozy and perfect for our family and friends. Definitely do your shopping ahead of time as a food store is not around the corner. 2 pass the time hiking, photography, and playing games at night were our pastimes

My husband and I stayed at David’s cabin and had the best time! It was extremely clean, exactly as described, and in a private secluded area. I would definitely recommend!

Kay's cozy cottage is indeed cozy and welcoming. Being there on a very cold weekend, we were comfortable & warm in the cottage. The backdrop of farms set against the mountain range were so peaceful and beautiful! Able to hear traffic from the busy road since it's right on the road, but it didn't deter our relaxation. So many great options of fun in that area -- hiking, vineyards, Maybelle's, etc! We enjoyed an amazing time away together, just the 2 of us :)

What an amazingly gorgeous area to wake up to. The view incredible, the property itself was a very nostalgic experience for us having grown up in small town areas of Va and SC. Exactly what we were looking for.

Very cute cottage that has a well-stocked kitchen, 1.5 clean bathrooms and a very comfortable large bed. There were even plush robes like a hotel and a few fancy toiletries. As a solo traveler, the place was the perfect size for me and didn't feel cramped. I appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was. The view from the porch is so peaceful especially as sunrise or sunset. The tree arch way when you drive in was beautiful in the fall. Enjoyed the host's brewery and other nearby wineries. Would recommend this stay to anyone. Some notes: The stairs are steep! So keep that in mind with the luggage you bring if you want to take it upstairs. The couch is the size of a loveseat, but still comfortable. Expect some occasional, light noise during the day as the location is very close to the brewery and a main road.

We loved our short stay at Shelly's cottage. We may have found our new place to stay when visiting DC. We would love to come back in the spring or summer and fish in the pond!!

Just like the last time, a beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and peaceful place for the two of us to stay - with fantastic sunset views over the water! Our go-to place for when we come down for a visit to Southern Maryland.

Our recent stay at the Cottage was absolutely serene! Located in a beautiful wooded area, the location gave us a peaceful escape from city life. The cottage is at the end of a quiet road. The Cottage itself is very spacious, clean, and well decorated. One of the highlights was relaxing on the decks, especially the one overlooking a small pond. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable getaway, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature! We will surely return in the future!
