Cottage vacation rentals in Shaldon

Very cosy, hot tub was lovely! Took a few hours to heat on the first night but after that was fairly quick to get back up to temperature. Lovely location, with easy access to Dartmoor and the coast - would highly recommend.

We had a lovely weekend stay at The Milkshed; it was a very peaceful spot which was private and welcoming. Katie provided great instructions to get to the property and for check in. The place itself is impeccably clean and we loved the hot tub after a days’ exploring. Very good location for heading to the coast, around 25 minutes down to Lyme Regis which we love. We would recommend this place 100%, thanks for being great hosts!

We had a great stay at Owls we were beteen homes and so needed somewhere to stay. Ben and family were welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble including providing fresh bedding as we were staying for more than 2 weeks. We had our own hot tub which we did take advantage of. We would recommend it for any kind of stay. Thank you Nicky and Noel xx

The photos don’t do it justice. The views from the garden are even better in person. The house itself is a lovely mix of a modern and rustic cottage. Miranda was a very attentive and responsive host, helping us with anything we needed. There were so many nice touches around the house, one including the binoculars which was made good use of on our hikes! Such a peaceful area set back from it all. Would definitely recommend.

This cottage is not just beautiful but also very welcominng and cosy, there is everything your family needs to make your stay comfortable. We loved the hot tub, down stairs shower room , coffee machine ( thank you for the very generous amount of pods included) , very secure outside courtyard which was escape proof for our dog 🐕 and the use of the washing machine and dryer 😀 We took advantage of the The Ley Arms pub which is just 1 min walk away - the food was outstanding and the portions where huge ( definitely a winner 🏆) . We will definitely be bookjng again in the future, thank yoh for having us 🙏

We had a fantastic time at the cottage for a few nights. It was self check-in so left to our own devices which was really nice. Place was clean and had everything we needed, right on the moor. John even came to our rescue at midnight when we got ourselves locked out. Thanks again!

We had such a lovely few days at the cottage. It was private yet the hosts were always on hand to answer questions. We had the hot tub two evenings which was ready and waiting. Lovely to have the log fire too.

Absolutely loved it here! Great communication throughout. Fantastic house and location, spotlessly clean, very homely, great facilities ie.. pool table cinema room jacuzzi, table tennis , park for the kids - all ages loved it - Can’t wait to return - fabulous

Fish Cottage was hands down the best Airbnb we have stayed in. Beautifully furnished with interesting artwork, antique furniture and quirky pieces, this place was peaceful, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Comfy bed, lovely log burner and excellent recommendations in the welcome guide of where to eat. Would 100% come again and recommend as a country get away. With thanks!

We had a lovely stay at Gill’s beautiful place. It was a sanctuary for a quiet new years, with a roaring fire and really well equipped kitchen. The local pub was really good and we walked to the pub on the estuary for a lovely meal. Highly recommend! Thanks Gill.

We loved our stay at the cottage. It’s on a really quiet road, but was only a 2 minute walk from the centre of Dawlish and the seafront. The property itself was lovely, very clean and furnished to a good standard. Would definitely recommend!!

Highly recommend. Perfectly placed, walking distance to the shore & just around the corner from a pub with excellent, fine-dining food. There’s also a great shop/cafe/brewery a walk away ( brewery not operating in winter). house in great condition & with ample space for the 5 people in our party. Interior was charming, & the garden lovely as advertised; our visit in January coincided with cold rainy weather, so we didn’t use it. Warning: with the exception of the dining room & kitchen, every area of the house is on different levels, & all the bedrooms & garden require stair climbing. The host is remote, but was very responsive via DM, encouraging us early to let her know about problems. A few trivial things were missing - the cleaners hadn’t left enough toilet paper or replacement garbage bags, & the previous party had run the sitting room gas out. The host responded immediately and helpfully to these minor problems. Will 10/10 return.

Lovely cottage walking distance from a beautiful beach with a great mobile cafe . Perfect for dog walks , well located for the SW coastal path and a characterful clean and cosy cottage. The hosts were helpful and check in and check out were simple despite a late arrival. Village pub was lovely too and dog friendly.

Kelly was a brilliant host, she gave great information before arrival and was super at communicating. The cottage is beautiful and has every we could have possibly needed. We had the most wonderful time walking around the beautiful local area and enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Journeys End Inn.

Jasmine Cottage was a wonderful little place to stay. Despite being a very old property the renovations have been tastefully carried out and it retained all the original charm with modern day convenience. I liked that it has its own self contained garden which was perfect for my dog. I especially loved the living room with its cosy wood burner and comfortable sofa. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything that I needed and I enjoyed cooking in it. The cottage was warm throughout my stay even without the wood burner going. There was plenty of hot water and the bathroom was always warm. Upstairs both bedrooms were lovely and the room I stayed in had a very comfortable bed and again was warm and cosy. The location is very rural and quiet which was exactly what I was hoping for. I had a wander around the village and visited the very pretty church. People I met were friendly. The purpose of my trip was for complete rest and relaxation and that’s exactly what I got.

Fast confirmation and answers to any questions we had. We were lucky to be able to check in early. Easy to find with good parking. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Jennie’s husband who showed us all the important aspects of the accommodation. A starter gift of tea, coffee, milk and cookies were a nice surprise. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean, warm, quiet and tastefully decorated. Downstairs presented a very comfortable living area that included a fridge, compact cooking facilities perfectly adequate for two persons and a sink / drainer. The sofa is very comfortable and the TV / SkyBox / WiFi all worked faultlessly. The upstairs bedroom and en suite was particularly special with exposed beams, high ceiling and contrasting brick chimney. The bed was very comfortable. The en suite facility was modern, well installed quality fittings and spotlessly clean. The waterfall shower worked really well with copious flow of hot water. We couldn’t fault, very pleased.

Hannah and Ivor really helpful and friendly. Lovely setting. Children loved being able to forage and see the wildlife. Perfect. Peaceful.

We had a wonderful time at our stay. The house was very comfortable and clean. The house is located on high level- so not very suitable for wheel chair users or people with walking problems. The bedrooms both had en suits which both were lovely (both upstairs with no downstairs toilet). The kitchen was well equipped. The location was also very good with places to visit - a car is needed. There is a good size private outside patio to use with good quality garden furniture. With an additional grass section in front -children to play The big bonus was the access to the swimming pool . steam room , sauna & jacuzzi throughout your stay.The whole family really enjoyed it- you need to bring your own towels as they do not supply the towels unless you are staying in the golf club hotel. The Golf club has a bar and Resturant to get food and drink. The golf course was especially good. Very well maintained with beautiful views. Not expensive to hire and play. We would love to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Eleanor’s cottage. The location is great, really close to the centre of Totness with quick access to great beaches and stunning countryside. Eleanor has some great recommendations in her welcome folder, particular faves were the independent cinema, Indian restaurant and Man beach. The house is well decorated and furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. We hope to visit again

Perfect cottage for a peaceful getaway. Beautifully styled and comfortable with nice touches and a well-stocked kitchen. Heating works really well. Clare is a fab host! Easy to find, we pulled up outside to drop off bags before parking on a street in the village. Nice pub at the bottom of the road.

We had a fantastic three nights at garden cottage. The surroundings and the view are both wonderful. A lovely view down in to a wooded valley , and just a ten minute walk down the lane to north sands. The garden is beautiful even in the winter, so in the spring and summer must be even more spectacular . The cottage is really well appointed, the spacious lounge has lovely characterful and comfortable furniture, the kitchen is really well designed and equipped with everything you could need . The bedroom has a lovely big comfortable bed with superb linen and nice big pillows, and the shower is great too ! All in all it’s a fantastically well put together Airbnb with no expense spared , very comfortable, very peaceful and great value . We’ll definitely be back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christina cottage was beautiful inside and out side, very quiet and was lovely to be sitting outside in the sunshine in the mornings. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals, the 2 bedrooms both of them were on suite, lovely lounge with confortable sofa and chairs all in all great place to stay and highly recommended I certainly will be coming back in the future.

Our third stay at the Barn and a lovely experience once again. A perfect property in a picturesque village. Always spotlessly clean, great facilities (including a gorgeous wood burning fire) and so many homely touches. Also so nice to be greeted with fresh Devon milk, chocolates and Prosecco after a long drive. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Little Barn for 3 nights with our 4.5 month old and it was just what we needed! Penny was very responsive to all our questions prior to arrival and the barn itself was immaculate! The location was remote but perfect for what we were looking for, so peaceful and tranquil! Would definitely recommend Penny’s Airbnb!
