Family-friendly vacation rentals in Santa Barbara

Debra's clean and peaceful cabin is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods to stay in at the Pine Mountain Club. Even better, it sits adjacent to the wildlife corridor that runs down the hillside. Debra is a gracious, responsive, and well organized host.

This was probably the best Airbnb that my girlfriend and I have stayed at. The cabin is very nice and we loved these four things: 1) The living room: Big flat screen TV and a super comfy couch 2) The kitchen: Had everything that we needed to cook delicious meals 3) The views: The two decks give you excellent views of the mountains during the day and the starry sky at night. 4) Privacy: You get the entire cabin to yourself and the only noises you ever hear are the critters that call PMC home. It’s so peaceful. However, I would make the following advisories to anyone who wants to book this Airbnb: 1) Sleeps 2 people easily, but 6 is definitely a stretch. Unless people are okay with sharing rooms and sleeping on futons, I wouldn’t book this place for 6 people. 2) The dishwasher was broken and there was no out of order sticker on it. 3) I’d suggest bringing groceries from out of town. The general store doesn’t have much and the restaurants in town have sporadic availability.

Stayed here for a few nights and the house is really wonderful! Had everything we needed and a personal touch.

This place was the perfect spot for our group attending a wedding in Malibu. The Airbnb was well provisioned with anything you could need and comfy beds. Everything was super clean!

Jennifer & Robin's place was completely delightful. It was cozy and comfortable and absolutely perfect for a nature getaway. It feels very private, the view of the surrounding woods and mountains was gorgeous, it was so peacefully quiet and yet only a few minutes from the little community of shops & cafes. They provided everything that was expected but were also so generous and thoughtful in providing so many extras! The little things that make a visit easier and more special - different types of tea, lots of warm blankets, kitchen supplies, moisturizer - all small touches that make a big difference.

Toni’s cabin is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy PMC. Quiet location, great deck and right next to the snowflake trail. Toni has great information on all the hikes and places to see in the area and is easy to communicate with. Always our favorite place to stay.

Hillary’s place was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by incredible scenery. There were so many amazing wineries nearby, which made the whole experience even better. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back again soon!

Jennifer is an extremely hospitable and generous host! She was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay and always with a friendly demeanor. We had a fantastic time at the Fantastical Cottage! Jennifer's place is truly magical and my wife was constantly thinking she was in a wonderland! Very much looking forward to returning some time very soon.

Very pleased with our stay. Well-priced to comparisons. Augusto answered all questions and had great recommendations for meals, excursions, etc. PMCC was a great little find, and such a short drive from our home. This cabin was a perfect getaway place for my surprise anniversary trip. We can't wait to bring family back for a winter holiday trip in the future. Plenty of room for guests, enough space to gather and also spread out. The bathtub was a nice compromise for a spa. Beautiful views and local. I can understand why others loved and recommended this cabin. You will be so happy with your choice. Felt very safe in this neighborhood. We even found ourselves looking at real estate while we stayed. Enjoyed viewing beautiful wildlife; different from where we reside.

Marty and Carey's home was a perfect place for our friends' reunion! The home is spacious, clean, comfortable, and with great decor. The kitchen was well-stocked and we loved the openness of it. The couches and beds were very comfortable for lounging and sleeping. The backyard is so beautiful and peaceful, we spent most of our free time out on the patio, and the kids loved the swings. The hot tub was a big hit with everyone, and we enjoyed being so close to the mesa bluffs and the private beach. We can't wait to come back again!

Tim and Danielle were such great hosts and so welcoming to my boyfriend and dog! Extremely understanding as well with last minute changes to my trip. Highly recommend staying at the Meiners Daughter!

Perfect house for adult family of four over Christmas. Great kitchen for preparing Christmas lunch. Enjoyed the hot tub.

We had a wonderful stay at Rachael's place. Everything from reservations to check in to check out was easy and smooth. The location was convenient to many great restaurants, eateries, shopping, and the beach. Rachael made us feel welcome with a nice bottle of wine and fresh flowers when we arrived. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and just as described. Rachael made some excellent recommendations for dinner that we adored. We had a little hiccup with the HVAC system, but there was great communication and it was resolved in a timely manner. We wouldn't hesitate to reserve this home again in the future! Giving 5 stars because it’s technically as described. But don’t let the photos of the big house confuse you, or the fact it’s listed as “entire place” - this is not a private home experience. That big house in the photo is where the owners of the property live and when you use the hot tub, you’re looking into their kitchen. It’s a great house, top notch hot tub, cold plunge and sauna, but just know it’s not a solo experience, and you’ll have a great time. Very friendly people and great amenities.

We had a fantastic stay—our kids absolutely loved it and begged to stay longer every single day. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, with gorgeous morning strolls and stunning evening sunsets. We especially appreciated that it was dog-friendly—the built-in dog door in the bedroom was such a thoughtful detail, letting our pup come and go without waking us. After full days of kayaking around the Channel Islands, relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. The kitchen was fully stocked for home-cooked meals, and the welcome snacks were a lovely touch. We also loved not having to pack beach gear—the hosts had everything covered: toys, canopy, towels, you name it. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the host’s kindness in offering us a late checkout made our departure so much smoother. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thembi’s place. The house and location were the perfect base for our trip. The neighborhood is safe and the surrounding area is beautiful! Would definitely stay there again when we visit!

Kim and Tom’s Camp Cottonwood house is beautiful and comfortable. Everything works as expected and supplies are well-stocked. The backyard is awe-inspiringly spacious — big enough to host a wedding, we joked. Their home is a gem in Los Alamos, convenient and cozy. Los Alamos is a cute village that’s close to Santa Maria and Solvang. Kim and Tom are very welcoming hosts. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice.

We had a magical time staying at this quaint little house outside of town. Within seconds of parking the car, the horse next door stuck her nose over the fence to say hi to our 5 year old daughter who was over the moon to meet this gentle giant. She spent every moment available petting her nose and feeding her bits of grass. The house is super cozy and well stocked with kitchen items (pots, pans, coffee maker, blender, etc..) all the things needed to feel right at home. We even bbq’d on the patio. The house is in a rural area, plenty quiet and beautiful with a well stocked market 5 minutes toward Santa Paula and the town of Ojai 10 minutes in the other direction. Beds and couches are comfy, plenty of sheets blankets and towels available. Angela was super friendly & responsive if anything extra is needed. The WiFi worked great. I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

We had a really great stay here. Our hostess, Debbie, was super responsive and helpful. I always want to hear about the bed and pillows - both were super comfortable. Mama Dux was clean, welcoming, and did not disappoint. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, the apartment was in the middle of everything. We parked our car and literally walked everywhere - the funk zone, the beach, farmers market, state street…of course, this convenience to everything comes with the fact that it is not in a quiet area. You could hear cars with loud music, passers by, and the like. In addition, Mama Dux is a first floor apartment and one of the units is upstairs, so you will hear your neighbors if the apartment is occupied. I went to Santa Barbara with my 22 year old daughter and we had an absolute blast at Mama Dux and I would without a doubt stay here again.

It was our first family camping trip and we had a great time! Nan was easy to communicate with and the airstream was clean and well taken care of. The property was beautiful and my kids (ages 3 and 6) enjoyed the animals (horses, chickens, cats) everyday and the stream across the street. It was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay. The casita is close to downtown Santa Ynez and surrounded by horses and cows! The property is private and very quiet and peaceful. We brought our dogs along and were able to walk them in a nearby neighborhood and take them on adventures with us. Jeanne’s place was clean, well appointed and she was very helpful and a clear communicator. One surprise was the tax that was due separate from the paid price to Airbnb. It is stated in the listing that tax was not included but I missed that it would be paid separately. So just note, but we really enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back!

First time staying in Los Alamos. Great location. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. The Bob’s Well Bread Bakery perk was great!!! Would stay again.

A true gem in Montecito! We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful Airbnb, it truly exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless and incredibly well thought out, with every detail designed for comfort and ease. From the cozy, welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully stocked amenities, everything felt intentional and high quality. The location was perfect for exploring Montecito, yet peaceful and private enough for total relaxation.
