Cozy Single Family Home

AndreaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful trip to Williamsburg and loved staying at Jessica's home. It was beautiful and comforfortable! The house was clean and accommodated all of our needs! We loved being so centrally located to all the main tourist destinations and had so many restaurant choices nearby. But we especially loved being able to relax and recharge at the house after walking around Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Jamestown. I enjoyed reading on the front porch and the kids loved playing in the front yard. Jessica was very responsive and flexible. I would definitely recommend her house as a perfect place for a family to stay.

3 bedroom private home a block from the beach!

JennRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Kate’s place was perfect for our family’s first trip to Norfolk! The beach is literally less than a 5 minute walk away. Her home is adorable and her neighbors are the sweetest people! My kids loved their little dog. We felt very comfortable in the house — very nice neighborhood and the home had everything we needed! We were very close to downtown as well. We will definitely be coming back if we make it back to Norfolk! Thank you Kate!

Palm Beach by the Bay

SusanRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect for having a small holiday meal; a wonderfully stocked kitchen with good knives can be hard to find! It was a comfortable home in a great location. It was perfect for walking to shops, restaurants and coffee shops. There is also great playground that the kids really enjoyed. The host was responsive to all of our questions and provided lots of recommendations for activities in the area. We look forward to booking this home again.

Modern 3BR Home near Busch Gardens W/ free WiFi

SharickaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We enjoyed our stay. We felt right at home. The host is very responsive, and made us feel very comfortable. You have the entire home to yourself. There are stores and restaurants close by. The mall is less than 15 minutes away from the home. There is a trampoline park (Surge) that I took my kids too that is about 10 minutes away from the home. His home is clean and looks just like pictures. Please don't let the comment about the dog that belongs to the owner next door keep you from staying here. She isn't that big, and she was inside of the gate. She did bark because she saw us, but seemed harmless. I highly recommend you choose to stay here if you are visiting the area.

Modern. Spacious. Pets Yes! 2Min Walk to Beach

NorahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We enjoyed our stay. The home is well stocked and comfortable. However I feel very expensive for the neighborhood, which did not feel entirely safe at night. Christopher is a great host. In his defense it is a very large home and he allows pups which is worth a lot. There weee only three of us so we barely used 1/2 the house.

The Happy Place-Quiet, North End 1 block to ocean!

LindaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We had the most wonderful stay at this beach house! Walking into the home was like walking into your own home - stocked with everything you could possibly need, and then some. I love that we didn't have to pack all the bulky beach gear and bikes! They provided EVERYTHING you would want. All we needed were our clothes and personal items. The game cabinet was a huge hit as was the Wii which had all the best games! I'm always concerned renting homes that allow pets, but you would never know this was a pet home - there was no pet odor or stains, and the fenced front yard was very convenient. A short walk to a beautiful beach, and an access rode for easy bike riding made this the perfect location. Mary was an amazing host - responsive and very kind. Loved our stay so much we are hoping to return some day.

Harbor View- (Sun - Sun rental June- Aug.)

DeeRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This is a lovely house within easy walking distance of the heart of Cape Charles. We loved being able to walk to the New Year’s Eve Crab Pot drop on Mason St. The house is comfortable and charming with a great kitchen. It was quiet even though it was so close to the main hub of activity in Cape Charles.

Positano Villa

Absolutely beautiful home. Everything was exactly like the pictures. The weather prevented us from getting to fully enjoy the bay views, but we did get a snippet of how amazing it could be. They had plenty of supplies at the home for our convenience. I would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone.

Peaceful beach @Courtyard Cottage+No Cleaning Fee!

StefanieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Richard was friendly and helpful and quickly responded when a smoke detector started chirping. We loved the proximity to the beach even if it wasn’t quite the season and the yard was nice to hang out in. It’s close to a main road but the layout of the yard with the fence and natural beauty made the road a nonissue. The kids loved having games and puzzles and we appreciated magazines about Norfolk and the surrounding areas. The kitchen was well stocked for the light amount of eating we did in the house. We came for the historical sites but we would stay again for beach season!

Sarah's Creek Starlight

I can't say enough how wonderful it was to stay at this little cottage for my working vacation! I felt right at home when I walked in the door. I arrived right at sunset and the views were just amazing. This is now my go-to place every time I visit the Gloucester County area! Everything was spotless and clean. WiFi was very good (I unfortunately had to work while I was there). The owners James and Ann were amazing, welcoming, responsive and had great communication. I highly recommend this as THE place to stay - I don't think I could have chosen a better spot!! Thank you for having me!

Lovely Ocean View Cottage

MindyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
What a treat to relax for a few days at Chuck's charming cottage! The house is comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We were especially impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. Our pup appreciated the fenced yard, and we loved the pleasant landscaping. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable, with a small park full of gorgeous live oaks and easy beach access just a couple blocks away. There's also a small shopping center close by with a grocery store and several restaurants. Easy access to the interstate is also a plus. Chuck is a very responsive host, and we also enjoyed some goodies from his thoughtful snack basket. We've stayed in a lot of rentals over the past 20 years, and Chuck's house is among the top properties. Thanks so much!

We stayed one night and it was perfect for us. Everything we needed was provided and it was quiet too. The little town is adorable and the short 5 minute drive to the beach was well worth it. I imagine it would be even better in the summer months.

Your guide to Sandbridge Beach

All About Sandbridge Beach

Just south of Virginia’s Ocean District lies Sandbridge Beach, a secluded getaway featuring a vast five-mile stretch of immaculate white-sand coastline, pristine dunes, and tranquil shallow waters pleasant for swimming. It’s prime real estate from which to catch the sunset over the Atlantic, and provides a picturesque backdrop to a fun day building sandcastles, horseback riding, and wandering the shoreline. Nearby farmers’ markets, including one situated on Sandbridge Road, sell fresh local produce, homemade desserts, seafood, and offer a convenient spot to grab a bite for a picnic.

Sandbridge Beach and the surrounding area serve as a habitat for various wildlife, including dolphins and sea turtles. Birders will delight in the hundreds of species lurking in the sands and marshes of the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. You can also visit False Cape State Park, situated between Back Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, with its many hiking and biking trails; the secluded park is reachable only by foot, bike, boat, or a tram that departs from the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sandbridge Beach

The summer months experience pleasant weather perfect for enjoying the beach, making it one of the best times to book Sandbridge vacation rentals. Spring in Sandbridge Beach also sees balmy weather and fewer visitors than in the summer. In winter, humpback whales and a variety of bird species make their annual migration through the area, providing opportune times to observe Sandbridge Beach’s diverse wildlife.

Top things to do in Sandbridge Beach

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Comprising ocean waters, maritime forests, soaring dunes, ponds, and marshes, the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge is a good introduction to the local ecosystems, and something of a wonderland for migratory birds. Thousands of swans, geese, and waterfowl make their way to this habitat during fall and winter migration. The refuge encompasses 8,000 acres of trails for hiking and biking and includes a boardwalk that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, popular for observing turtles, dolphins, and whales.

Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art

Thirty minutes north of Sandbridge Beach is the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, featuring exhibitions (painting, photography, video) from regional and national artists. The museum hosts an array of events and programs throughout the year, providing opportunities to interact with artists, take classes, and engage in fun hands-on activities.

Lotus Garden Park

On the south side of Sandridge Road, Lotus Garden Park offers extensive stretches of preserved Native American lotuses. There are two kayak launches at Lotus Green Park, allowing kayakers to access Ashville Bridge Creek, North Bay, and Muddy Creek. The Lotus Garden Loop features beautiful scenery and an idyllic spot for a relaxing paddle through the water.
