Superb hotel with spacious rooms, comfy beds and excellent facilities (parking, pool, restaurant, gate with intercom) and very friendly and helpful staff on old rancho grounds, with lush tropical garden. Staff always responded promptly and very helpfully to questions, and collaborated proactively in developing tailor-made arrangements. A smooth 20 min ride from San Jose airport. Highly recommend this place as starting or closing point of your Costa Rica holidays.

For me, I was grateful; the other Airbnb I had reserved ended up having the wrong location published, so I had to book this last minute, around 8pm. I was just there for a night, but the place had a cool, very old Victorian house-style vibe. Creaky old wood floors and really tall ceilings. My room was crazy large, but it was also a handicapped room, which should be plenty large. PARKING: So they do have their own parking lot attached to the hotel, but if you arrive at night, it is locked down. So you have to go to the front desk and they have a clicker to open it. So if you park at the hotel entrance, which is on a one-way street and not really a pull-over spot but not busy so if it's late a quick stop is probably fine (cars can get around you), the garage is at least 4 car lengths before the hotel, so be smarter than me so you don't have to go around or reverse down a one-way to get in the garage. Props to the front desk agent, responsive and friendly!!

The views from this room are incredible and everything about the space felt really comfortable and clean. We elected to have dinner on site and were really glad we did! The food was really good and it was so nice to simply walk downstairs and be served. We loved it and I tend to be rather particular about food! Highly recommend everything about this place! We will definitely stay again when arriving or departing Costa Rica!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing customer service. Eleazar met us at the front door, helped us with getting food delivered, and dealing with our car rental place. He even had coffee ready for us when we woke up and packed us breakfast since we were leaving so early. The hotel is so beautiful and the amenities were outstanding. It was above and beyond what I expected. My only regret is that we didn't stay at the Vista Canyon Inn longer!

It was very convenient if you are flying in and out of SJO airport. We had a late flight so having someone pick us up was very helpful. We also rented their car. It was very reliable as we explored La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area and Manuel Antonio area. It went up mountains and travelled a lot of miles with no problem. I didn’t have to worry about leaving credit card information to anyone. I’ll rent the car again.

Peaceful pool area and fantastic chef! This place was great. We had a red-eye flight to San Jose and really needed a place to rest. We got there several hours early and they let us check in, but while they readied the room we slept in the cabanas by the pool. It was soooo peaceful to awaken in the fresh air and glance up to see bogenvilla blooms lightly moving in the breeze. We barely noticed the race track noise from nearby. Also, the rooms were huge, very clean, staff was nice, etc. The food cooked on site was exceptional - really - order from their restaurant there. It was fresh and extra delicious.

Ruta Verde was a beautiful Airbnb! Our host was so helpful and accommodating and we even got to try his delicious cooking! The space is beautiful and the rooms are huge! The pool is stunning and so relaxing. Overall this was an amazing stay in San Jose and doesn’t feel like you’re in a major city! Definitely consider staying here if you’re ever in town!

My family and I arrive late, around 10:30pm but the manager was very helpful on giving us the instructions to self check in on the property. Our room was the #2 above the building and was very clean and nice! The views at night and also the good looking and comfortable inside was absolutely stunning for us. I really recommend this place !

Very nice hotel area with great pool and hot tub, clean and large rooms, staff very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast. Only criticism: the location, through which we did not feel very safe with dawn collapse.

We stayed here one night and our time was MUCH too short. We are already planning to return for a longer time. It is perfect for a couple or a family and even for a small group. A stay for one night or one month, this place is perfect. A stay for one couple or one family, or for a larger group, this place is perfect. It is an excellent place to enter and leave the country, since it is close to the airport, and it is an excellent place to use as your base as you explore the surrounding area. It is also an excellent place to stay and be relaxed and refreshed. And, the customer service is excellent. Manual is very responsive and helpful and his staff are kind, thoughtful and very good at making guests feel cared for and at home.

I am very grateful for our stay. the place was situated in a beautiful canyon, was a good value with a robust breakfast, access to games and nearby attractions like a wildlife reserve. Dave was friendly and helpful and when we left my 3 year old sons cherished stuffed animal behind he arranged for it to be hand delivered to us 2 hours away at no fee. such amazing service, I'm so grateful. a great place to stop by especially if you have a family, want attached but extra rooms and are flying in or out of SJO

Great find for us considering how close it was from the US embassy and what a nice area it was. You can walk just a few short blocks and there's the embassy. We choose Casa Lima for its location, for the complimentary lil breakfast, and for the lil restaurant option. Perfect for what we needed on a budget!

Ruta Verde Suite Rent a Car – Free Night Offer

Ruta Verde was great. William came and picked me up from the Airport and had a couple of beers waiting for me at my room. In the morning they cooked me a delicious breakfast the next morning with a lovely smoothie!! He also had a rental car ready for me which was so convenient. No waiting in line at the airport after a long day of Traveling. The car was great a Hyundai 4x4 which was super clean and felt brand new. I drove it all around Costa Rica with zero problems. I stayed at the beach for a few days then returned to Ruta Verde to a nice home cooked meal and a glass of wine. The next morning I woke up to a nice breakfast and then William drove me to the airport. He made everything so easy. Definitely will come back. What a wonderful place !!

I had a lovely stay with John and Meri! It was very clean, very quiet and peaceful, and close to the Convention Center (5-10 mins walk or 15 mins ride-share). John was super proactive and very friendly, and they were very accomodating when I had to check in later due to a flight delay. I highly recommend!
