Vacation rentals in San Carlos

Even though 2/4 of our group was unable to come to this visit, we are so glad we had to keep the reservation because it was such an incredible place. It was blowing our minds driving onto the perfectly gardened & landscaped property with tons of gorgeous tropical plants. then when we took the steps down to Rio Celeste, our jaws dropped. The water was rumbling fast, so we didn't get into the water, rather we just admired it. The location & property alone were worth our travels. considering there's many beds, we talked about returning here in the future with friends. We didn't stay more than a night, but hope to do so one day to really relax and enjoy the time there. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and tools, & it was nice since we cooked there. The host kindly provided marshmallows for a fire on the patio, we happened to already have chocolate and also graham crackers from our flight! the beds were comfy, the hummingbirds were fluttering on the patio, & we will remember! ♡

I can not say enough about Rick as a host and Casa Familia. The location is a great base camp for a lot of activities around the Tenorio area. The house and property are stunning and the wildlife is extraordinary. I have never had so many little extra’s that really made the stay feel like you are right at home. I can not recommend this place enough and will definitely be back to stay again!

Beautiful property and very helpful staff . Very calming surroundings and if you are a nature lover you will feel right at home . Amazing animals and they are doing great work by supporting animals . Perfect for families with kids . Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We had a fabulous stay, but unfortunately it just wasn’t long enough, especially as it rained persistently for one of our 2 days!But fortunately we had fabulous accommodation to relax in during the bad weather. Friendship House is immaculate, spotlessly clean, and the hosts provide wonderful touches like fresh flowers, local chocolates and lovely fresh coffee. The grounds and trails are really beautiful too, and incredibly well kept. We had a fantastic time on our second day, wandering around spotting and photographing loads of different birds. Kamal and Bertha are superb hosts, and go out of their way to make sure everything is fine. We were provided with loads of useful information before we arrived, and Kamal even sent us a weather forecast for our second day, saying we should get sunshine! The weather on our first day was so bad, so that was a very thoughtful touch. So if you are considering visiting this area, we would highly recommend this place, and we will certainly stay again

Kevin and Liz were amazing hosts! Their property is beautiful and comparable to a 5 star RIU hotel we stayed at. This is great for people who have a rental car and are not afraid to go off the beaten path for some privacy! Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful acreage! Our kids loved the salt water lap pool! We all got to see some Monkeys in the forest around the property. We would definitely stay at Kevin’s place again!

Angelica is a excellent host and great conversationalist. Her breakfasts are delightful and nutritious. She put care into providing a variety of delicious local fruits each day. The space is perfect for writers: comfortable seats with a beautiful view in front of the cabin. The area is beautiful and we loved our stay. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay! Jim was so helpful and welcoming throughout our time at the Airbnb. The property is breathtaking and is in an ideal location, lots to see within an hour drive including, la Fortuna waterfall and the volcano hike. Make sure to spend a day enjoying the property and the peaceful bnb!

There's no doubt you're close to nature. The house provides a perfect setting for the larger family. A charming and spacious gem in the embrace of nature. True Costa Rican culture. Hosts are sweet, helpful, and quick to respond. If we were to come back, we would definitely choose this place again. Thank you to the host for providing us with great service.

A fantastic house for resting and enjoying the many nature activities in the area. Cristian was very fast and resolutive for any of our questions during the stay.

Nice house with an amazing view of the lake perfect for those who want to relax. There were lots of birds around. We used all 3 bedrooms and the 3rd bedroom is a small sofa bed. Communication was very easy with the host.
