Family-friendly vacation rentals in Salmon Creek

Ray and Mark’s place was a perfect spot landing spot to chill out in between busy activities with friends in Portland. It’s about 25 minutes from the heart of Portland, but it feels like you are far away in a beautiful nature retreat. The place was exactly as described - full, very well-stocked kitchen, king bedroom and queen bedroom. Comfortable dining and living room with lots of seating and artwork, as well as big windows to bring the outside in. The king-sized bed in the main bedroom was unbelievably comfortable. The hot tub was one of the highlights of our trip. It is outside, just a few pavers from the back door. It is situated to be very private, and it was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub and look at the stars at night. It was raining and cold so we didn’t get to walk around the farm this time, but we will be back. Thank you, Ray and Mark, for a lovely stay.

This is such a fantastic spot! It's right near so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars but also quiet and peaceful feeling. The house has both a charming oldness to it and also a clean and updated feel as well. The backyard was gorgeous and the hot tub was clean and easy to use. We slept great on comfortable beds. Would absolutely stay here again!

Stay number 15 was just as lovely as all the other visits we've made since our adult granddaughter moved to Milwaukie in late '16, and the recently broken old hot tub being replaced with a new one was a cherry on the sundae of our delight. We came later in the year, so it was colder with more rain, as expected, but the guesthouse was always warm and inviting (when you change the thermostat, push HOLD first and then change the temperature to what you want), and it smelled so good outside with the rain freshening the air and bringing out a special fragrance in the surrounding trees. We are old with health challenges that make us vulnerable and are very cautious about dining out in recent years, but in addition to being close (by car) to many fine restaurants, the guesthouse is a great place to share takeout with our granddaughter and her friends. Check my older reviews for specific restaurant and activity recommendations. This place is a gem and so is its charming host.

Wow! This place was everything I hoped it would be. The house itself was beautifully appointed with a full kitchen and everything we could possibly need. It was cozy and clean, and the natural surroundings were stunning! We made good use of the hot tub and the fireplace. Truly, it was a perfect spot for a winter retreat.

Debi was extremely helpful and very proactive. The instructions provided were very detailed and it was easy to find the residence. Debi was a wonderful host and she provided a plethora of local activities and restaurants to try. I highly recommend the listing especially for those that are visiting Portland for the first time.

My new favorite stay in Portland!

Diane and Michael were excellent hosts. We felt right at home and appreciated the use of their hot tub. It isn't the same as staying downtown, but this was perfect for us because we were looking for a place outside of the city where we could relax away from the hubbub, but still close enough that we drove to Powells and visited one of our favorite Burmese restaurants. We will definitely stay here again because it is what we look for in a short vacation.

The Art House perfectly met our needs. From the cozy fireplace to the comfy beds, we felt right at home on this mother-daughter time away. Leah was very responsive and provided a clear balance of privacy and friendliness -- respecting our time alone but inviting us to stop by to say hello should we choose :) We're looking forward to returning with the rest of the family.

We had to book this place last minute (day of) as our previous accommodations had cancelled on us. Susan was so easy to work with and was very helpful! Couldn’t have asked for a better saving of the day. The house was very clean, and was perfect for our group of gals. We had 1 guest that is severely allergic to dogs and even though this is a pet friendly house, not once did she have any type of reaction which goes to show just how clean the house was. I would absolutely recommend to a friend!

It was just what we look for.....private, located in the country but close enough to town, pet friendly, clean and cute!!! Host was friendly and it was just as described! Loved staying there and if in the area again would love to stay again.

This was our first solo trip as a couple, and we couldn’t have picked a better place! The studio is beautiful—we absolutely loved the kitchen. At first, we were a little concerned about staying behind other tenants, but it was totally fine and super quiet. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood, even at night, and the location is perfect—so walkable to food, drinks, and the market! I wish I had noticed the info folder earlier; it’s so helpful. Overall, such a great stay!

Veronika's place was one of the best AirBNB experiences I've ever had. The space was impeccably clean with lots of nice little touches--including a fully stocked kitchen including fresh eggs from the chickens who live in the backyard! It was very quiet in the basement apartment, yet it is not far from the Alberta Arts District in NE Portland, which is full of great restaurants and shops. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in town.

The Casita is a perfect location for us while visiting our grandchildren. It is cozy, quiet with a lovely courtyard. We enjoyed our stay and Susan is a gracious host! I am looking forward to staying at the Casita on our next visit to Portland.

Great place for a short stay! Great location. The only thing missing was a central heating system, it was a little chilly and hard to warm up the rooms, but overall good place. Parking was also hard to find some evenings.

David and Debra's place was perfect for our Thanksgiving visit to Portland. We really apreciated the off-street parking spot, friendly greeting (including a bottle of wine) and great communication throughout.

The room is a large renovated garage and you wouldn't even be able to tell without looking at the closed off garage door. It's spacious and very accomodating.

One of our favorite airbnb’s we have stayed at so for. It was exactly how it is pictured and described. Karen and Eric were very quick to respond and their place is beautiful. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone wanting a private and relaxing getaway.

Great place very clean and from what I’ve seen the hosts are very responsive and helpful, for me I tend to keep to myself and they were respectful of our privacy. Very mindful and comfortable.

Cosy, private and close to lots of great coffee, bagels, restaurants and shops in Sellwood. Loved the park at the end of the block for a run and view over the river.

Nice place, used the office for work, WiFi was very reliable. Having use of the attached garage was really nice and made it feel homey. I really enjoyed the walkable coffee shop, restaurant, and paths along the river.

Jamye’s home was a wonderful stay for us. The neighborhood is beautiful, with many pristine walking and bike paths. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Julie was a generous host. It was a peaceful place for my family to stay and easy for our local family to come for meals and visit. Every morning we had coffee on the large private deck. We sat on the deck some evenings and enjoyed the fresh air and complete lack of mosquitoes. The two full bathrooms for the five of us were essential. We booked this house to have a great place to stay-in and have local family over but it was also close to many things in Portland. The zoo and the science museum were two of them. Julie was responsive to requests and just a very kind person.

We had a great stay. The house was exactly as described and had tons or really nice touches that made for a luxurious stay. We would definitely stay here again. The host was great at communicating and even though we didn’t have any issues at all, I was confident that if any issues occurred he would be very responsive.
