Step into 1923 Houseboat on Iconic Amstel River
The boat is an ideal place to stay if you want to explore Amsterdam (metro 5 min). Everything you need to stay comfortably is present: towels, glassware, pans, coffee cups, etc. (the list with the advertisement is already long, but there can be even more ;-) Host Tymen was easy to reach and had a good tip regarding parking the car. We'd love to come back!

Leidse Square 5 star Luxury-apartment
This is a fantastic airbnb in Amsterdam. The location is very convenient and everything is within easy walking distance. The apartment is extremely comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated. It provided everything we needed without any unnecessary clutter . The beds are very comfortable. Agnes was very responsive to all the questions we had before arriving to Amsterdam. We were welcomed at the apartment by Sander. He was very friendly and warm while informative and clear explaining how things work in the apartment. We really enjoyed our five nights stay and will plan to stay here again at our next visit to Amsterdam. We highly recommend it. .

Spacious Serviced Apartment with River View
The convenience of a hotel but space of an airbnb. All the front desk staff were A+. Helpful, friendly and accommodating Clean modern place close to Centraal

Lovely private cottage near Amsterdam
When we booked the place, we hadn’t heard about it Waterland a lot as a tourist place; however, the beauty of the place is mesmerising. The house is in a very beautiful and easy to get location. Whenever we needed any help, Irene was there. When we reached in the night at about 11 pm and were not able to close the windows, the family was there to help. The instructions were clear and check in was smooth. All the necessary amenities were provided by them. Waterland is about 15 minutes drive by bus to Amsterdam central. Anyone can spend a day enjoying Waterland, Volendam, Monnickendam, and Marken. This is a must stay place for anyone who wants to enjoy the real Dutch culture. I am not sure how many have watched Virgin River on Netflix, but staying in Broek gave me a feeling of the same. It was an amazing experience for all of us. Besides, Irene was kind enough to allow us to keep our luggage at her place after check out so that we were able to enjoy Volendam. Must stay place.

Houseboat, near Amsterdam, Private
We had a great stay . There was a lot of equipment available from dish brush to toothbrush to tampons. Bathrobes for the hot tub were also provided. The aforementioned whirlpool fits well there and relaxation is guaranteed. We actually have no complaints. Maybe the sink in the bathroom is a little small and my girlfriend thought the bed was a little too hard. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the weather, but we still went through our planned stay in Amsterdam. 20 minutes by train from Wormerveer is great.

Amstel Imperial
Raul’s place is amazing. Perfect location and he is a great host. Walkable to two different tram stops so very easy to get around

Canal view home in the heart of Amsterdam
We had a lovely stay! Veronika was an excellent host. Apartment is in a great location and the beautiful canal views are worth the climb up the stairs!

Captain's House
Arjen has quite the incredible apartment near the train station. Nice sized Duplex with outdoor deck off the bedrooms. It couldn't have been more comfortable, with great light, herbs and berries growing on the deck that he encouraged you to consume. It's convenient to almost everything. As others have said the stairs, at first seem daunting, but once you get used to it, it stops being a problem. Arjen was there too meet us when we arrived. He generously carried our bags up the stairs, acclimated us to the space and then took us on a tour of the neighborhood. He was there when we left to go to the airport at 6:30 am to carry our bags back down the steps. He's very charming and articulate. He was never intrusive but always responsive. He loves his city and is willing to share locals only things to do. Next time I come to Amsterdam I'll look to to stay here first.
Houseboats in Amsterdam

Houseboat / watervilla Black Swan
By far the most beautiful place we have stayed during our travels! We can’t recommend enough and it was worth every penny.

Stay at this Houseboat in Utrecht!
Such a peaceful few days on Lies's houseboat. Perfect for our group of five adults. Lies made really excellent restaurant recommendations which we really enjoyed. Very close to shops and buses, not far to main station. Excellent for cycling.

Magnificent houseboat with a stunning view!
The ship was in an absolutely fantastic area in Amsterdam. Very quiet and a beautiful environment. Public transport in all directions is easily accessible on foot. The stay in the ship was a dream. Everything important was available and also little things like a nice wine, chocolate or honey were included:). The slight rocking of the ship was not a problem at all. On the terrace, you can enjoy the hours of sunshine forever. If I plan a stay in Amsterdam again, I will definitely check the availability of this Airbnb again. 10/10!

Houseboat Tante Piet 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms
I cannot recommend this boat enough. I wish I was back there right now! What a lovely surprise that it's even better than the photos. Extremely clean, excellent finish, very unique and an overall beautiful space. Location is lovely, a short walk to everything and easy tram access if you don't feel like walking. Leaving the best till last... Sietske is a wonderful and kind host. She couldn't do enough for us and made us feel extremely welcome. Thank you so much for helping make a big birthday even more special!!

Sunny houseboat near Amsterdam centre!
We had a wonderful time at Anouk's houseboat. I was debating before booking if I should rather stay in the city but it was totally worth a train ride from Amsterdam Centraal to be in the nature. The grocery store is 3 minute bike ride so we could easily get things to cook and fix up a pasta dinner with a bottle of wine when we were tired of eating out and rather just wanted to relax watching the ducks and water lilies on the canal. The access was so private we didn't hear any traffic or other people. After all day walking around in Amsterdam full of tourists it was a nice way to close the day. My teenage kids really loved pausing and taking photos on the boat with beautiful water background to brag about to their friends later. One surprise was Zaanse Schans was so close. We rode bikes there and it was super easy. Beautiful brick streets and watching a boat goes under a drawbridge made it even more enjoyable.

Amsterdam romantic house boat
If you're looking for a calm location and a place to truly call home for a few days this is a perfect spot! It was a quick drive to a train with ample parking to get into Amsterdam. Marie Louise was an amazing host, very helpful and kind.

Authentic bright Water Villa @ old city canal.
Beautiful houseboat in a great location and easy access to all of Amsterdam. The houseboat was warm and cosy and perfect for our short stay. Hanco is a great host

Unique studio in houseboat in urban greenery
This is a fun place to stay and relax watching the ducks on the water. It was super clean and neat, and Bernard and Monique were fantastic hosts. They were very proactive about meeting us to settle in, provided basics for water, tea/coffee and snacks, and were extremely responsive to any requests we made. It is close to public transport and easy to get to and from the airport and the city. There are also nice walks along the canals and convenient groceries. Definitely a good place for a stay in Amsterdam.

Amazing stay! Absolutely perfect place to get away and only a short bicycle ride into town. Saskia and Tijmen were amazing hosts and extremely helpful with everything we needed. Absolutely would recommend. Thanks again!

Charming Canal house City Centre 4p
Karin and Douwe are very accommodating hosts. They let us store our luggages in his home before and after checkin and checkout time. They are very responsive and always replied our messages immediately! The unit is in a quiet and convenient location, 10 minutes walk to the central station, about 30 minutes walk to museum district. The unit is very spacious too!

Sonnenberg - Canal side & view - Private & Central
Oh my gosh, this was one of the coolest places I've ever stayed! The location, the views, the vibe! I can't even choose the best part! You will love this place! So much beauty and history, looking out over the canal, oh man it was great! Amazing host and hostess too!

Luxury Appartment near Amsterdam and Keukenhof
The space is amazing with natural sunlight coming into the living room area. It is definitely big enough for 2 or 3 people. The kitchen has all the basics that are necessary for basic meals.

Amazing House group location 25min from Amsterdam
After cycling round the countryside each day with friends, coming back to "Amazinghouse" was an extra treat to look forward to. Plenty of space Inside and out for everybody to chill. Kitchen & dining room very well laid out, so all involved at dinner. Great outside space and garden with good BBQ. Had a wonderful stay & Murielle went above & beyond.

Stunning apartment; center of old Amsterdam
Amazing apartment in a great location. We walked everywhere. Was exactly like the photos.

Multatuli Luxury Guest Suite in top location
Joanna was a great host. She was quick to respond to any questions and had great recommendations. The unit has a quiet, dark bedroom, with a comfortable king bed. The modern spacious bathroom was fantastic. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station in a wonderful neighborhood. I would absolutely recommend this apartment. Five stars.

Cozy apartment near lively neighborhood Jordaan
After 8:00 am and 8:00 pm Slight noise, soundproofing doesn't seem to be very good But it's still within acceptable limits The bathroom is a little too small for boys Access is very good The host is kind Cookware and seasoning are very complete

Your guide to Amsterdam
All About Amsterdam
Whether you’re snacking on sweet stroopwafels and browsing the antiques at Noordermarkt or taking in a boundary-pushing dance performance at a local theater, Amsterdam combines old and new at every turn. You’ll find world-class museums, including the Anne Frank House and the Rijksmuseum, 17th-century canal houses, stunning industrial architecture, and vibrant cafes overlooking the city’s famous canals — where the water can turn into makeshift ice rinks in the winter. The canal district of Nine Streets showcases independent boutiques, while the city’s major squares, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, are brimming with nightlife. If you’re looking for some greenery, Hortus Botanicus is one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens.
For a bird’s eye view of the city, head to the panoramic observation deck of the multi-use space A’dam Lookout where you can also ride on Europe’s highest swing, Over the Edge, more than 325 feet above ground.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Amsterdam
For a kaleidoscopic show of famous Dutch tulips, head to your Amsterdam rental in the spring. This is also when you’re less likely to encounter rain, although the city’s weather is famously hard to predict — an umbrella and waterproof jacket are musts here. Summer brings everyone outside, whether they’re biking into the surrounding countryside, soaking up some sun on a canal boat, or chilling at a waterfront café. Koningsdag (King’s Day) on April 27 is a national celebration of epic proportions. Join the locals by dressing in orange — the color of the Netherlands — and soaking up the festive atmosphere as people line the canals and set up stalls outside their homes. Later in the year, June gathers international artists and musicians all month long for the Holland Festival. During winter time, Amsterdam’s oceanic climate brings cold, blustery weather.

Tucked away behind the Anne Frank House and beneath an art gallery, Electric Ladyland claims to be the first museum dedicated to fluorescence. Head here for in depth insight into the science behind phosphorescence, from small-scale minerals to all-encompassing experiences where you become part of the art. Just be sure to book ahead, as appointments are the only way to visit.
Amsterdamse Bos
This 2,500-acre forest is one of Europe’s largest city parks. Here you’ll find miles of walking and cycling paths, pretty bridges to stroll across, as well as areas for hockey, tennis, cricket, football, and swimming. Plus there are a number of spots here for refueling and relaxing, including cafes, restaurants, and a spa.
Amsterdam-Oost
This vibrant East Amsterdam district strikes a balance between historic and hip. Sandwiched between the Amstel Canal and the historic Jewish Quarter, you’ll find galleries featuring work by Dutch creatives, a stunning concert hall, and restaurants featuring cuisine from around the world. You could easily spend a day here wandering past the grand fountains in Oosterpark, going shopping at the area’s vintage and design-focused stores, browsing the 100-year-old street market known as Dappermarkt, grabbing a coffee at a canal cafe, and checking out the quirky bars and breweries.
