Houseboat vacation rentals in Amsterdam

A truly wonderful experience on this amazing houseboat. Ruud is a great host whose communication was responsive and informative. The houseboat is spacious and really well laid out - truly felt like home from home. The location is peaceful and quiet. Hope to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend aboard Johan's houseboat, in a great location in the Jordaan! It was an experience simply not available in a hotel or B&B. We drank morning coffee and late afternoon cocktails on the deck whle soaking up the few remaining days of late summer sun. It was ideally located close to neighborhood restaurants, shops, and even weekend organic food and flea market, and a short walk to tourist attractions in the old city center. If not up for a longer walk along the canal to the museum quarter and beyond, a public transportation options were always available nearby. Communication prior to arrival and during our stay was proactive and prompt. The inside of the houseboat was even more spacious than we anticipated, and the beds were comfortable. We'll definitely opt for a stay here during our next visit to Amsterdam!

We had a lovely time on Peter's houseboat. The location is great. Only a 15 minute walk to the station and the center yet incredibly peaceful. Everything we needed was available and we enjoyed the first rays of the spring sun on the dock in front of the houseboat. The daily visit from a group of geese was quite the highlight for our little boy. Peter welcomed us when we first arrived and was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We explored the corners of Utrecht and beyond with the bike and can only recommend this lovely city. So many beautiful historic buildings, lovely canals and quaint little cafes and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful time at Anouk's houseboat. I was debating before booking if I should rather stay in the city but it was totally worth a train ride from Amsterdam Centraal to be in the nature. The grocery store is 3 minute bike ride so we could easily get things to cook and fix up a pasta dinner with a bottle of wine when we were tired of eating out and rather just wanted to relax watching the ducks and water lilies on the canal. The access was so private we didn't hear any traffic or other people. After all day walking around in Amsterdam full of tourists it was a nice way to close the day. My teenage kids really loved pausing and taking photos on the boat with beautiful water background to brag about to their friends later. One surprise was Zaanse Schans was so close. We rode bikes there and it was super easy. Beautiful brick streets and watching a boat goes under a drawbridge made it even more enjoyable.

There were five of us on site for an extended weekend and felt right at home. Everything was as described and visible in the pictures. Marie is very hospitable. Her houseboat offers a perfect place to relax and feel good. All around a successful weekend. We will be happy to come back.

The Musard is a magical houseboat in one of the most lovely locations in all of Amsterdam. And while we LOVE wandering Amsterdam, we were constantly tempted to stay on board and just hang out on the top deck. Inside, the Musard is *super cool*, but you need to remember that it really is a boat and that brings about certain elements that you need to be aware of. 1) You need to be able to get up and down boat-type stairs. Just face the stairs on the way down - like on a boat - and you'll be fine. 2) I'm 5'4" and I still had to worry about my head in a few places. It's not a problem at all, but if you are super tall you'll need to be a bit more careful 3) You'll need to be gentle on the plumbing. Again, not a problem if you are a bit careful. The host was awesome and responsive. This is one of the best Airbnbs we've ever stayed at and we would highly recommend it. The immediate surroundings are beautiful and PACKED with amazing restaurants. You can book this and be certain you'll love it!

Henk’s place was perfect for the type of travel we enjoy. It was easily accessible to the bus that quickly brought you to the train station, would have been even easier on bikes. Mornings would double peaceful on the water, watching the bonded Geese and people taking a morning swim, sail and the occasional rowing team. We enjoyed a storm that moved through one evening. The space is precisely as described. Henk gave perfect directions of how to find it from the airport. Even when I was a complete clutz and dropped the house key in the water, he did not panic or give me grief but immediately hired a locksmith to fix the problem before we returned in the afternoon. Very responsive. The overall Noord neighborhood is perfect to escape to from the city but still be plenty close to enjoy anything wanted.

Fantastic place. So many cosy cubby holes and straight onto a floating pontoon with swans and ducks floating by. Easy walk to the free(!) ferry across the river to the centre of Amsterdam.

We were so lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful place! The beds were comfy, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful... it was a lovely escape from the busy, city-center. We LOVED the use of the kitchen and the deck just off the kitchen. Hein was so good to have bikes available for us. There is little available directly near the home but a 10 minute bike ride along the lovely road and over the bridge gets you to all you could want. We were sad to leave our Amsterdam home and will hope Hein's home is available when we return.

We had a wonderful weekend at Justin's. We felt comfortable immediately and everything was very clean. From the accommodation you can easily make excursions to Leiden, The Hague or the sea. The place is very private and quiet. Justin always responded quickly to our messages and was flexible with check-in and check-out times. I will recommend the accommodation! 😊

Fern’s houseboat was AMAZING! Hands down my favorite Airbnb ever. Interior was beautiful and well kept. Location was close to so many shops, restaurants and the tram. Fern was very helpful and always responsive. Pepper was easily my favorite part of the stay though 😊 🐈‍⬛ ❤️

Our stay at Claire’s place was nothing short of magical. The location is hard to beat in the heart of Jordaan, steps away from great Dutch cafes, every restaurant we ate at was within a ten minute walk, every one was fantastic. As well as minutes walk from transit. Somehow though being in the middle of everything, being on the water in this houseboat makes you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. Claire has great taste, her home is designed impeccably, with one of the major highlights being the record player, listening to classics like the Beatles, Bowie, The Doors while sitting on the back porch taking in the incredible view of the canal. Bonus was the most efficient washer dryer I used during my 3 week stay in Europe and the large dishwasher. Had we stayed longer, we would have cooked, there was a fully stocked Chefs kitchen. Thanks for the perfect end to our adventure!

Our stay at the boathouse in Lemmer was just amazing! The location right on the water was fantastic, and the house itself was perfectly equipped – there was nothing missing. Particularly noteworthy is the incredibly friendly host, who warmly welcomed us and made our stay an unforgettable experience. We felt comfortable from the beginning and were able to enjoy the week to the fullest. Everything was perfectly organized, clean and cozy. We highly recommend this special experience and would be happy to come back!

We had a great stay here, the area is so beautiful and peaceful. The surrounding waterways were teeming with life and we had a wonderful time watching all the ducks geese swans herons and commorants. Plenty to do in Aalsmeer and lots of great restaurants and cafes. The house was lovely, nicely decorated and well equipped. Everything was as described/pictured, the sauna made the stay extra special. It was really easy to find the place with Mandy's detailed instructions and she was very quick to respond to any questions we had.

A lovely houseboat out of the busy fray of Amsterdam with easily accessible public transportation, cafes and restaurants. The birdlife on the canal was a pleasure, including 5 recently hatched baby coots. Liz gave us proper food to give the parents and we enjoyed watching them feed their offspring. Great break from museums and all the activities of Amsterdam.

Thanks for an amazing stay! The houseboat has everything you need, very close to transport links into the centre of Amsterdam. The location is peaceful and the neighbours are friendly. The bikes were a great addition to the accommodation, perfect for getting around town. The host is super helpful and responded to all queries very quickly -thank you so much!!!

We had a wonderful weekend on Robbert's boat. Easy arrival, very nice stay, super quiet and everything you need on board! 100% recommended if you are looking for a quiet weekend in nature and on the water. Would definitely do it again!

We had two wonderful days in Anouk's nice houseboat. It had everything we needed and was clean and nice. Very comfortable beds and such a nice welcome. We loved the opportunity to use the small boat and went on beautiful trips in both directions from the houseboat's location in the canal. We also appreciated the service with the four bikes that were included. Use them for a trip in beautiful surroundings along canals and a visit to the next city. We had dinner two nights at the little restaurant across the street that had very good food. Plenty to see and experience by boat or bike at a reasonable excursion distance. Very nice, which we are happy to recommend. We were two couples who lived in the boat and were in the company of a third couple who in turn rented a room in Zaandijk nearby. It was close and was no problem for us to socialize despite different accommodations.

We had a wonderful stay on Erica's houseboat. The location is simply fantastic. Over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and then this view from the terrace - just beautiful! We were able to really relax and disconnect from everyday life. The houseboat is very lovingly furnished with lots of little details. We lacked nothing. The wellness area with sauna and hot tub deserves the grade 1! Erica is very helpful and communication in advance and during our stay was impeccable. All in all a great recommendation! We will definitely be back!

A great, super clean houseboat. We were there as a family and I can absolutely recommend it. The view of the water is fantastic! We had the bikes with us, so you can be in the center within a few minutes. Likewise, a Spar market is directly accessible by bike.

Leendert was a wonderful host very friendly and communicative. It was a great experience to spend a few days glamping on a houseboat. It is a little bit outside of Amsterdam which made for a very peaceful stay. The bathrooms in the facility building were always very clean. Throughly enjoyed our stay!

A true gem in a great location, surrounded by beautiful houses and small private docks, this Airbnb offers both charm and peace just outside the busy heart of Amsterdam. The apartment is tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean, and radiates a sense of calm and comfort from the moment you step inside. A private parking spot right at the door adds convenience, and the entire area feels exceptionally safe and welcoming. With excellent restaurants nearby, there's no shortage of good food. This place is perfect for anyone with business in Amsterdam or the surrounding region who prefers not to stay directly in the city. Even on a business trip, the stay feels like a mini vacation. Host Francisco has created something truly special here. The attention to detail and warm hospitality make every guest feel perfectly cared for.

We had a great time. The house and the facilities are great, everything you need for a relaxing stay is there. Everything was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the house was very cold when we arrived, the underfloor heating takes a while to warm up. If you arrive in the evening or in the dark, the access to the first jetty is a bit difficult to find, maybe a sign would help. But we can only recommend the house and will certainly come back again.
