Family-friendly vacation rentals in Río Oro

The house was Beautiful with amazing views. Felipe was a great host. He was very responsive when trying to get info for different stuff prior to arriving. He helped with transportation as well. We didn’t stay long at this property however some of us wished we would have. The location was so peaceful with such a relaxing vibe to be able to unwind after a week of partying and running around. Location was not far from airport . Overall we enjoyed our time here.

The apartment was exactly as described and very convenient for the business we needed to conduct in downtown San Jose.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Julio’s beautiful house. This time we went with friends to celebrate a birthday, all of them have lived in Costa Rica for decades, but were unfamiliar with San Isidro. They all were truly impressed by Julio’s property, its magnificent views, peaceful surroundings, large and gorgeous gardens, and the thoughtful way the house is managed. Jorge, the caretaker, was helpful and friendly. We took our friends to Bonsai Mundo just down the road, an outing that we highly recommend. Thank you for everything, Julio and Jorge! We hope to be back someday soon.

Mitch was a great host who waited for me to check in way after the supposed meeting time. I appreciated his kindness and help getting me settled. The apartment overlooks the city and you will be able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the bedroom.

Overall, it was a great vacation stay for a family of 5. The spacious living area, kitchen, washer/dryer, bathrooms, and multiple bedrooms made for a very pleasant stay. The living room area and each bedroom had its own TV. There is a lot of natural sunlight if the shades and curtains are opened up. Its location on the main first floor made a for a very easy check-in and check-out although entering the building itself required a doorbell which was operated by security personnel via camera. The bathrooms were stocked with fresh towels, shampoo, lotion, and toilet paper which felt like a hotel stay. The kitchen contained everything needed for meal preparation. The kids watched TV in the large living room area next to a huge dining room table for family meals made it convenient and easy. Not a major deterrent is the external road noise from loud motorbikes inside the master bedroom which could be addressed by fulling sealing the external sliding door.

I received a warm welcome at check-in; very friendly hosts. The location is lovely, with grand views of the surrounding valley and hills. The trees and garden make it a peaceful oasis. The apartment is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, as well as comfortable and cozy. Floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel like you are outside among the trees. The kitchen is better-equipped than you find in many Airbnb’s. As others have mentioned, you can walk to the town in about 15 minutes. There are also plenty of taxis in the town. I arrived in Atenas by bus, and had no problem getting around without a car. I would definitely recommend Cat and Yolanda’s place, and will stay there again in the future.

My stay at Phil's place was truly a highlight of my 2.5 years living in Costa Rica. The gardens are an absolute masterpiece. Every corner is thoughtfully designed with cosy seating areas and little stools where you can simply relax and soak in the tranquility. If you are a meditator this place is a dream come true! There are also multiple viewing platforms offering stunning views of the valley and the surrounding forest. The vast array of plants, fragrant blooms and the sound of birdsong create a truly magical atmosphere, especially in the morning sunshine. Phil was an exceptional host, welcoming to both myself and my dogs. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds, rolling on the lawns and visiting the river at the property's edge. The guest house itself was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with everything I needed. The sun-drenched patio was a perfect spot to unwind. An idyllic tropical haven! I would definitely stay again.

Excellent location, 3 minutes walking from Avenida Escazu, where you can find a variety of restaurants, shops, cinema, cafes, stores, parks, mini market. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and safe. Cliff is an excellent host, communication with him was quick and effective. I highly recommend Cliff's apartment.

A very nice and cozy space, the patio is surrounded by trees and is a cul-de-sac so it feels very private and full of nature. The kitchen is not as stocked but has all the basics.

A wonderful place to get away from the city and the chaotic outside. Beautiful views of green mountains and an environment surrounded by plants. Baudilio was the one who helped us with the bags and with what we needed, always kind and willing to help! Super good person. It's a recommended place to stay!!

Very close to the Spanish schools and national gym in Heredia. Very secure and safe place with bilingual hosts on site. Covered parking with two apartments one side and the family home the other. Supermarket, fruit shop and restaurants close by.

What a great host! Any issues I had he was there with no hesitation. The place was gorgeous and had an awesome view. I can’t wait to come back…

Your apartment is very nice. 3 bed room, 2 and half bath room are perfect for my family. The washer and dryer are so good, we washed clothes. Beautiful mountain view. Walking distance to supermarket, park, and restaurants. 5 minutes Uber to the city center only costs under 4 dollars.

The hotel was a beautiful place to relax. The surroundings were very peaceful and remote. The apartment has everything you need for a private stay and a local taxi can take you to the nearby super market for supplies. The hotel caregiver was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay.
