Purple Rain is the greatest movie of all time. This is not opinion, this is fact. Now, 40 years after the movie’s release, we’re bringing it back to life. Not only did we lock down The Kid’s unforgettable childhood home, but we also restored the interior to a new level of glory. The whole place is a tribute—nay, a shrine—to both the movie itself and the moment in time that launched Prince into the stratosphere. Because u can’t talk about one without the other. Cool? Cool.
What you’ll do
Not to brag, but we really outdid ourselves. The place is jammed with epic memorabilia that will give u a rare perspective into Prince’s creative process during his Purple Rain era—through the eyes of two people who lived through it (us!). And what’s a better way to crawl inside his head than listening to Prince’s personal tape collection, seeing the actual outfits he wore, and smelling his curated scent bar featuring his favorite perfumes? That, and ungodly amounts of ’80s nostalgia. You’re welcome.
Let’s go crazy, shall we?
• It’s The Kid’s world, you’re just livin’ in it. The downstairs decor includes purple velvet wallpaper and a vintage ’80s stereo preloaded with songs that inspired The Kid. There’s even a leopard print sofa where u can watch the movie Purple Rain in style. Scan the QR codes to get our personal commentary and insights. You’ll love it.
• Pamper yourself in the spa, decorated as a tribute to one of our favorite music videos: “When Doves Cry.” Clawfoot tub? Check. Stained glass windows? Double check. Throw in a plush purple robe, a soothing face mask, and some lavender bath bombs into the mix, and you’re golden.
• Wander through the safari that is the closet. Prince’s most legendary outfits are displayed behind glass—just for lookin’, not for touchin’. But if you want to dress the part, we put together a collection of ’80s-inspired outfits to elicit your inner rockstar (along with hair accessories and eye makeup, of course).
• Wanna rock out? Visit the muse lounge. Whether u tickle the ivories, bang the drums, shred on guitar, or bless the world with your best falsetto, we left u an app that’ll teach u how to play (or sing) “Purple Rain.”
• The best part of the house is the secret space—if u can find it. Activate a secret door (no, we’re not telling u how) to a room filled with treasures. Especially the faux vinyl album cover that contains seven clues, which, if u answer correctly, will lead to a world of never-ending happiness.
• Sleep like a Prince in The Kid’s bedroom, decked out to match the movie. Or stay up and check out his personal tape collection, including one of Prince’s actual demo recordings.

Hey—it’s Wendy and Lisa. We’re an award-winning music duo, childhood friends, and proud members of the legendary rock band The Revolution. Back in the ’80s, we teamed up with our close friend and Revolution frontman, Prince, to bring the iconic “Purple Rain” song and film to life. We’re psyched to go back in time at the scene of the crime and share even more incredible memories with u!
