Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Portalegre District

Our stay at Duarte's cottage has been wonderful. We have been two couples with three dogs and we have all really enjoyed it. The house is completely rural, located on the outskirts of Campo Maior, in a very quiet area where you will not hear a single car. Very helpful Duarte at all times. Thank you so much, we will be back!!

We had a lovely few days here. Laura was extremely friendly and helpful. Our daughter appreciated being introduced to the animals! The house was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. There was a lovely view from the kitchen too! The location was peaceful.

Small but very good space taking into account the price. Small details that make a difference. There's a kitchnette with everything you need. Comfortable and clean.

We have had the nicest stay at Carlos' place. it feels homey and comfortable and was the perfect setup for my husband and me, my parents, and our three sons. We enjoyed picking oranges and making orange juice, a fire in the fireplace, good sleep, and visiting with the neighbor sheep. My parents run cold, and the heat in their bedroom was perfect, it was nice to be able to control the temperature in each bedroom separately. We were so comfortable and happy there, and there were a lot of qualities of the house that I'd like if we ever buy our own home in Portugal. I hope we get to come back in the summer someday and enjoy the pool! Obrigada, Carlos!

Beautiful place and surroundings, cozy home with many rooms and plenty of space. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment aswell. The only thing to note, even though it was rented in winter time, was the state of the pool. We recommend at least covering the swimming pool.

Carla’s property is a respite in an already heavenly place. The property and home are beautiful and peaceful; it felt like home but better. It’s situated in an idyllic landscape and filled with sweet kitties and two pups, a refreshing pool and a gorgeous view. The home was understated and rustic, but still comfortable and easy to navigate. Grab some groceries as supplies are limited, or wander to the village for a local delicacy and a visit to the Tapestry museum (a must!). Carla and Charlotte made us feel so at ease we wish we could have stayed longer.

We spent a great weekend! The house is cozy, with all the amenities to spend the weekend in a group without having to leave, space for the 2 b*****s we took to play at will and for the group to spend time both indoors and abroad. No doubt a place to visit again. The house has heating to keep the temperature comfortable (and it was important because of the baby that was also with us).

Our stay at this property was excellent. The house is extremely spacious, with 5 bedrooms, a very well decorated rustic room (all well thought out and with very good taste) and 3 very clean and functional bathrooms. Both the beds and linen and towels were comfortable and of quality. Very well equiped kitchen, with several utensils, which made it totally easier to prepare meals. The porch dining area, overlooking the typical Alentejo landscape, created a great environment for our group lunches. The rooms of the house are equipped with air conditioning (essential for the hottest days). In short, the house offers everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this property.

An excellent house, in a wild place but full of charms! A stream close to the house where dogs can get wet, a dam on the homestead, wonderful bread, helpful and friendly people who made it easy…. A place to come back to!! We traveled with two large dogs that were accepted without hesitation, we were pampered and spent some memorable days. About the house… beautiful! Rustic, well framed, comfortable, clean, well equipped. A true pearl to discover. Thank you Patricia and other colleagues…. Well done!

A wonderful weekend, we ended up staying another day, and it was totally worth it!! Reka and James are wonderful, kind and kind people. Let's do it again, no doubt! I recommend to everyone that you want to rest and recharge batteries. It's truly a pearl in our dear Alentejo 🫶

Filipa's house seemed very cozy to us, it has a super nice attic and a spectacular terrace with stunning views, it is very bright and in the mornings and the evenings cold enough, the area has a very good weather. The residential is super quiet and has a pool,in addition to 10 minutes there is a river beach with all kinds of services, a bar, wc, kayak and a pool on the river!!! One of the days we went hiking to the convent do cristo de Tomar, a visit that is definitely worth a fantastic vacation.

As received with great hospitality. The house surprised us a lot both for the space, the cleanliness and amenities. The hostess was very warm and zealous throughout our stay. I recommend anyone who wants to go to Alentejo to allow themselves to live the experience of this pleasant stay.

If you want to switch off this is the place to go - very attentive staff but at the same time left to your own devices.

Considerate host who provides a level of detail not found in other properties in the area

We arrived a little early and it was no problem. The place was very quiet, cute and comfortable. The Canduxa Lodge is a perfect place to relax, see a beautiful sunset or enjoy a relaxed breakfast on the balcony with a great view.

What a wonderful place to rest. Very friendly hosts, available to let you know everything about the home and the surrounding area. They facilitated the checkout. Thank you very much. You gave for another nice lunch and a little more rest. The group was amazed and will repeat again.

We really liked the house and the place where it is located. It's ideal to disconnect from everything and immerse yourself in nature.

The experience exceeded expectations, Ana explained the amenities of the house very well and indicated several places to eat and visit. The house was impeccably clean and organized, with a very well-equipped kitchen. The atmosphere of the house is very welcoming. In short, Ana was always very helpful and hospitable, it made us comfortable. I highly recommend it.

This is a hidden gem nestled in a vineyard with a nice vegetable and fruit garden. Beautiful mild scented roses lined the entrance way to our villa. There was a large beautiful pool and our place was very clean. If you want a quiet relaxing time away from noise, light and air pollution this is the place to unwind. We did many day trips to the neighbouring towns and was always happy to be back here. Margarida and her husband, Joaquim, were gracious hosts who allowed us to pick fruits and vegetables from their farm. We enjoyed two bottles of wine (red and white wine) from their own vineyard which was very nice. Great view! Rustic and so close to nature. Great for guests who want a retreat for contemplation and to have a fun time with their families.

Nice house near the medieval town of Marvao and castle. Nice accommodation with fully equipped kitchen, nice and spacious outdoor area with a view of the castle. On arrival there was a warm welcome by Sonia

Great place to spend a relaxed, serene and comfortable weekend. Herdade maintains the traditional traces of typical palace construction, but offers all the comfort, namely in the rooms. Beds are large and very comfortable. I think we benefited from renting the entire space so we did not feel in a room, but at home, in the double sense: with the whole space for us and very cozy. Note for the outside, very spacious, the pool area is quite pleasant and, the best part of all, is undoubtedly the animals that exist on the farm (present, but without bothering). There are chickens, goats, cats and dogs. Trufa (a young dog) was an excellent host, always wanting to play and keep company. For sure if we return to this area will be for Herdade da Ordem!
