Family-friendly vacation rentals in Popoyo

Wonderful place, with a spectacular view! The statue of Christ is super close to Malibu and the host was also super helpful in recommending local restaurants with a 20% discount :) They’re super attentive when it comes to any inquiries or maintenance questions. However, I will say that there were a lot of bugs outside so I recommend bringing repellent. Its location is not that inclined like most places in San Juan, so that was another upside to it. Great location, great staff, great place ❤️

We had a great stay at Laura’s house. Very relaxing to just look out over the jungle down to the ocean with birds and monkeys coming and going. The view is really fantastic. Open air concept made you feel like you were always right there in nature. Exciting trip up the road 4x4 is a must. Private road down to the beach made that very accessible. Thanks again to Laura and Veronica for making our visit so enjoyable.

Amelia's bnb was an excellent place to call home for a month while in San Juan! The property was quiet but close enough to town to access everything very easily. I'd recommend renting a motorbike while staying since the road up is an adventure. The property manager, Walter, and his family were so kind and helpful to us. The best part of staying here were all the neighborhood dogs that make the stay extra memorable :) 10/10 would come back!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful two weeks over the holidays. This was our second time in SJDS but our first stay with Tanguy. The house is excellent, the view is magnificent, and everything is within easy reach. We would love to stay here again if we return to SJDS.

The place is beautiful. It is retired but at the same time close to the center of San Juan del Sur (approx 10 min). Amelia is quick to answer and Walter (the caretaker) is super friendly and attentive.

The house is super comfortable, with a pool overlooking the ocean that allows you to see incredible sunsets. The service and housekeeping was excellent . I would definitely come back and recommend the stay.

Big Drop Surf House is ideally located a short walk to Playa Maderas. Well equipped and comfortable, staying here you will feel part of the Maderas community. Gaby is a very responsive and resourceful host. The local restaurants/beach bars are great, close, and have delicious food.

Our family of five had a fabulous vacation for seven days. The water with the ocean and unbelievable waves. Jim was very helpful and we loved our time. Thank you,, Christine Curran.

Corrin and Jacq were exceptional hosts. Always present and super diligent. The house, in turn, is perfect: excellent location, equipped with everything you need (and more) and extremely comfortable and pleasant. It was an incredible experience, which I recommend to everyone (especially to those who surf, given the two “world class” waves located within the condominium).

The house is beautiful and has stunning views from the front porch. The kitchen is has everything you need. The bedroom is air conditioned which is very nice and the bed is very comfortable. Everything was clean when we got there and check in was easy because Ela gave us clear instructions and her staff live on the same property in a conjoined home so getting the keys was a breeze. While everything at the home was LOVELY, the roads around are treacherous. Unless you have a dirt bike or jeep it is difficult to get to. Once you get to the home the beach is walking distance which is nice.

We had a great stay at Casa Buen Vivir. The house is beautiful and in an amazing setting. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch each morning drinking coffee and having breakfast together as a family. It rained quite a bit during our stay. It rained everyday but it didn’t rain all day. We still enjoyed the beach almost every day. It is about 5-10 minute walk to the beach and we saw very few other people on the beach which made it feel like our own private beach. We did travel in November which is shoulder season. We had read that the southern coast dries up this time of year even if there is still rain elsewhere in the country but this was not the case for us. We really enjoyed our stay regardless and can’t thank Till and Nelson enough for their support and guidance while we were there. We hope to return someday.

We stayed at CasAnika for three weeks and had an amazing time! The house is spacious, clean, and cozy, with a beautiful terrace and a well-equipped kitchen. The Wi-Fi was great for remote work, and we loved the pool area and the friendly dogs and cats. Tony was a fantastic host, always helpful and full of great tips. The location is quiet, private and ideal, within walking distance to Maderas and Marsella beaches. We rented a scooter for trips to town but rarely needed to go as the area was so peaceful. Highly recommend!

This place was perfect for what we needed. We will absolutely be back for another weekend trip soon

Most affordable way to surf the awesome waves of Playa Colorados. Located next to a great pizza place and the bikes made getting around Iguana a breeze. Would definitely stay again!

100% recommended, the house is very spacious, clean and tidy, the kitchen is sufficiently equipped, Don pedro and his lady are very friendly, a very quiet place, we had a great time, I would go again.

This is a beautiful house and the view is exactly as pictured! We spent three weeks here and had an amazing time spending each day in the pool and evenings watching sunset. Dan has great recommendations, communication, and a guest discount to his catamaran tour which is tons of fun. We were three people working remotely and occasionally faced problems with power outages, often multiple times per week and day. If you are working remotely I would recommend flexibility and/or also having a local sim/ external data connection to avoid issues. However, I will mention that these issues are not unique to Dan's place and can be expected at any location in San Juan del Sur. The house attendants are readily available for anything you might need, however we sometimes faced miscommunication issues in regards to cleanings and laundry. I would highly recommend Dan's place for a relaxing vacation and remote work, you cannot beat the pool and view!

A spectacular place, really a gem of nature.

This is the perfect place to stay in San Juan del Sur! The condo is comfortable, well equipped, and has beautiful views. San Juan del Sur is a very walkable town and El Torreon's location can't be beat, so close to restaurants, bars and right across the street from the beach. Armando's communication was excellent and Alba was so gracious to stay later to check us in when we were delayed. Highly recommended!

This place was incredible! The views were out of this world, the house was spotless and cozy, and everything was set up perfectly. Zachary and Suyen were great hosts, and Ricardo was super helpful and easy to work with. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot with beautiful scenery, this is the one. Highly recommend!

I loved the place, it’s a beautiful house with a huge pool to spend the entire day in it, it’s very private and quiet if you want to disconnect from the city! Well recommended for big families!! Just be aware of rainy season because you’ll need an All-Terrain Vehicle with 4WD.
