This fascinating small castle is close to the River Tummel, where you can fish for trout in season, and is full of character with a view over the river to Schiehallion mountain. Down by the riverbank there is a bonfire site where you can gather fallen branches and sit around the camp fire of an evening with family and friends. The garden is unenclosed so, being close to the river, small children should be supervised at all times. Dogs should be supervised when outside. There is a lovely walk along the river to the first hydro electric dam built in Scotland in the 1930s.

We stayed at the castle for one night and it was magical. The beautiful surroundings are a treat to visit. When we saw the castle we felt like we were back in time. The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully decorated. It can be very cold so bring warm clothes. The common room with kitchen had a big fireplace where we had the best night. Look outside for wild bunnies and deer and all kinds of wildlife. Take a walk around the pond to see the castle up the hill. Everything was amazing, David was the best host, so kind and helpful. We will definitely come back to this special place. Would definitely recommend!!

The location is stunning. Across the moors high in the distance is an imposing castle - that is your bed for the night! The restoration of the castle is still a work in progress, but the room is clean and comfy. It can be cold up there, but it is a real castle on the moors so that comes with the territory. David is a friendly guy, and you won't find a more interesting place to stay for miles.
