Access the beach via our private trail. The beach is downhill from our property, so requires some physical ability and fitness. But it's worth it! James was a great host! Their location is walking distance from loads of trails and the coast. We visited on a rainy weekend and found the space to be super cozy to hang out and play games and music (we enjoyed the novelty of the records and playing the accordion and guitar). When the rain cleared we went for a beautiful long hike just outside their door. They were super warm and welcoming hosts and we loved getting to chat when we crossed paths but still felt a sense of total privacy in the suite. Would absolutely recommend the suite for anyone making a trip out to the sunshine coast. It was perfect for a winter getaway and I imagine even better in the summer with loads to do.

Tanglewood is peaceful and beautiful. From the house you can walk forever in the trees and on the endless beach. The residence is spacious and beyond comfortable. My wife loved the luxurious tub. The large windows that look onto the forest add ambiance. We loved our time there.

Lori and Cheryl Ann were so welcoming and we were immediately made to feel at home. They were fantastic hosts and were very mindful of giving us our privacy, but we're available if we needed them. The property is absolutely lovely. It is in a beautiful, peaceful and private setting. The property inside was warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It has good cooking facilities if you want to cook meals. We also had use of a nice gym belonging to Lori and Cheryl Ann, which we made use of on a number of occasions. We would highly recommend this property.

The apartment was spacious, welcoming, and spotless – with lovely, thoughtful extras: ample cosy blankets and towels; an amazingly well-appointed kitchen, including a Keurig with pods; an umbrella, iron, and hairdryer; and toiletries! While it was 100% private in the sense that I never ran into anyone during my week-plus stay, you're definitely able to hear your host family living their (engaged and active) lives throughout the day – something to keep in mind, if total silence and solitude are of utmost importance to you. The nights were completely quiet, to be clear! You're a stone's throw from the beach and a long, beautiful hike around Westwood lake; a 1km-ish walk from a coffee shop, pub, and liquor store; and the area is super safe (I felt comfortable walking home alone from my training venue after 9:00pm every night). Danielle was incredibly warm, accommodating, and responsive on every front – going above-and-beyond by receiving a package for me and allowing for a late check-out!

A great place to enjoy the coast for a weekend! Brett has done a superb job making the cabin cozy & welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook at home while staying here. The cabin is close to Sechelt for all amenities. We will be back in the summer!
