Lovely comfortable cottage which was perfect for our family. Great location to access Alton Towers! Melanie was very helpful with local advice for walks/eating and friendly communication throughout.

We were very comfortable at Sarah's place. We didn't feel cramped in any way. It had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Good shower. Very well-equipped kitchen with plenty of workspace. The thoughtful food provisions were much appreciated. And we enjoyed the quirky decorations! Our trip was for a family get-together and we will certainly use it again.

Corinne’s place was idyllically situated with beautiful views. The cabin was well equipped although a couple of extra mugs would have been good. Corinne is an excellent host, very responsive and helpful and the welcome goody bag was very thoughtful. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was fabulous. Sitting on the decking in the sun looking out across the countryside was beautiful. I would definitely recommend Corinne’s place. Cleaning could have been more thorough. The kitchen area and bathroom were spotless but there was a lot of dust on ledges and lots of cobwebs which was disappointing. The sofa was also repaired with tape and had dodgy springs. This did not spoil our stay but is worth noting.

We had a lovely and peaceful two night stay in Damson pod with our 3 year old. From the super comfy beds to the BBQ area (BBQ comes with a bag of charcoal you just need go light - couldn’t be easier) and even meeting Sarah’s charismatic llamas, we had a dreamy stay. While we were in the area we visited Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath, which were quaint and great for young families. We were sad to leave and would certainly stay again.

Overall it was fantastic and would recommend staying here for the immediate surroundings. We had fantastic weather for April so we could sit out on the patio and enjoy the view and the kids enjoyed the garden which was big enough to play football and rounders in. The only nitpick we had were the towels provided were very hard and scratchy and after using a lovely bath or shower the towels were not nice to use. So maybe bring your own in case they are not replaced soon. Although this did not affect us as the weather was great. If it did rain a lot and you were stuck in the downstairs lounge or dining area has no view of the lovely lake you can see from outside. There are views from upstairs main bedroom windows though.

This place was perfect! Short drive to everything we needed for our stay. Incredible surroundings and things to do! We also went to Alton Towers which was just a few minutes away in the car! The cottage was lovely and had a warm, homely feeling to it! We really enjoyed our stay and the beds were extremely comfy! Plenty of space for the five of us to relax in the evenings to play some games and watch a movie! Couldn't be happier with our stay and would definitely stay again! Would highly recommend this to a friend or family! Thank you very much 😊

Wonderfully peaceful surroundings and a great base to explore the local area for a few days. The cabin was just as described and our two boys loved waking up and just watching the animals (as did our dog). Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing (hot tub was again a big hit with the kids) break while there are also beautiful walks and things to do close by.

Riverside Cottage is beautifully-situated and on lots of hiking routes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the cottage itself to be extremely well-equipped and comfortable. Andrew and Sarah have thought of literally everything and were also extremely responsive to messages. We would love to return.
