Katrina’s place was situated in a very private setting. Beautifully landscaped. Check in was a breeze. Perfect set up for a family of four (or 5) given the bedrooms were on two different levels and each bedroom was equipped with a full bathroom. The place has a stunning view of the water from the living room, patio, and both bedrooms. The car ferry to Russell is only a 5 minute drive. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you for hosting us :)

We felt highly welcome. Vanessa answered a question within minutes and helped out. She asked us if we need anything from the supermarket ( is 45 min. away). Well equipped apartment. Silence. Beach nearly just for us. Perfect. 😀

We loved our stay at 1st Mates Quarters! Unfortunately there was a terrible storm at the time and Adelle was extremely helpful/responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The space was an amazing set up with beautiful views! Can’t wait to go back and experience it during better weather.

Our group of 7 women rated this house as one of the highlights of our 4 day stay in Russell. The location is scenic and peaceful and only a short drive to the town centre. We wished we'd had more time to enjoy the pleasures this house offers and would highly recommend both it and the host Dave.

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Such a peaceful, beautiful park like setting. The accommodation itself has everything you’ll need. There are so many huge windows that bring the outside in. Minutes to beautiful beaches and local restaurants and shops. Greg and Annette are fabulous hosts. So friendly and personable with lots of recommendations of things to see.

Kay was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The view was spectacular. Her home had all the amenities that we needed. The shopping centre and the beach are both in walking distance and a great fish & chip shop is on the corner of her street. Would stay again if ever in New Zealand. Thanks Kay

The cottage was perfect for our family of four. The kids loved all the treats and thoughtful touches. The location was a couple of minute walk to coffee, restaurants, groceries and the water. And a few minute drive to beautiful beaches. The small pool and hot tub were also great for when it was too cold for the beach.

Fabulous! Truly fabulous!! I really can’t say enough about Anita and The Loft. Anita met us at The Loft and gave us a quick tour, explained how the appliances worked, gave us great recommendations for the area. She is so welcoming and it was fun to chat with her. The Loft has a lovely deck to sit on and watch all the comings and goings of the harbor. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, kitchen equipped for cooking, showers great, all decorated tastefully. Extra touches like milk, chilled water, greenery bouquet, chocolates were appreciated! Everything was top notch!! Having a dedicated parking spot was extra nice. We really hated to leave and hope we can come back someday!! Thanks Anita!!

The house was exactly as detailed in the listing and a perfect venue to spend time with family who were visiting from South Africa. This Bach hidden away along the north coast of nz is stunningly breathtaking! 360degree views, islands, boats, sunsets, the calm Pacific Ocean, birds, dolphins, completely private and you’re own gorgeous beach! What more can you ask for really??? We were two but the bach comfortably fits more! And has everything you need! We will definitely keep coming back! What a rare find! Amazing views over the Bay Of Islands from the north facing sun filled deck. The apartment was super clean and comfortable in every space. Fresh fruit, warm bread, home made continental breakfast supplied daily was a nice treat to wake up to each day. We 100% recommended staying here and would certainly stay again. The long, scenic driveway set the tone, leading up to a charming vintage-style house on a vast, lush property surrounded by paddocks and trees. The location is incredibly private—perfect for a peaceful retreat in the Far North. A lovely walking track takes you to the lake, adding to the property’s charm. The house is spacious and well-equipped, featuring a powerful shower, a dishwasher, and a free-to-use washing machine and dryer. There’s also an outdoor BBQ, WiFi, and a TV with Sky, Netflix, Disney+, and more. The kitchen has everything you need, including a great oven and stove. We have immensely enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty of room for the kids to play and of course a beautiful beach very close to the bach. A lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and spend time together. Also a good location to explore the Far North and come back to a tranquil place at the end of the day.
