Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Orangeburg County

I travel a lot for fishing tournaments and typically stay at AirBNB or VRBO places instead of hotels. This place was as pictured. This is the first one that I’ve stayed at that was actually someone’s “home”. It appears as if the owners just move into a small outbuilding in the back yard while their home is rented out. This didn’t bother me, but it may bother some. It seemed to be a safe place to plug the boat up and is close to boat ramps.

The absolute perfect stay. Ronald's house truly felt like a home away from home. Extremely relaxing and cozy. There are ton's of hidden gyms to explore in Organeburg and Ronald's home is where you will want to be.

I had Stuart's place saved to my wishlist, and finally had the opportunity to stay for 3 nights in April 2025 for a local staycation Spring Break. My extended family (spouse, 4 kids, in-laws) spent 3 nights at the property. Everyone agreed it is a 5 star property. Both the heated pool and also the swim spa were big hits with my younger kids. Grandparents and my sons enjoyed fishing from the pier. Grilling and dinner on the patio at sunset is highly recommended. Stuart is very responsive. This was my first visit to Lake Marion. It's a rural area, and all about peaceful relaxation. We cooked most meals (kitchen is great). Next time I would bring full groceries with us - local restaurants and grocery stores are very limited. If you go out on the lake, highly recommend hiring a fishing guide, and skip any watersports. The lake has a number of hazards (e.g., submerged tree stumps, alligators) best left to people with local knowledge - Jim of Let's Go charters was great for us.

The place is fantastic!

It was a great place for our whole family. It checked all the boxes for everyone. Fishing was our #1 box, having the boat dock was wonderful. They didn't have to take the boat in and out of the water everytime they fished. The indoor swimming pool was great for the kids and adults because you didn't have to wait for warm weather. The pool table was fun for all and we could all hang together in the spacious area. The kitchen was large and clean with everything you would need. We all had a great relaxing vacation. Would highly recommend this place! Working with Ingrid was wonderful! She was extremely helpful and was available when we needed her. Would love to check out her other properties. Thank you for everything Ingrid!

We have stayed in Orangeburg before and it’s hard to find a place I’d go to again. When we stay up there, we will definitely look to stay here again.

We were very pleased with our stay. The home was beautiful and so unique. A remodeled storefront turned apartment offered such an incredible experience. We were granted permission to host a small 13th birthday party in this location, and it was the perfect setting for everything we needed. Even our guests had incredible things to say about the apartment. Jayme was quick to respond to every inquiry and was very accomodating. Thank you for creating such a great space for your guests.

The building was the last one by the railroad tracks, towards the back. There was great space for parking. The loft was well kept and clean. We really enjoyed our stay!

I’m from Orangeburg and needed a peaceful place to stay while remodeling my home. This spot was perfect—Gale was incredibly friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and centrally located, which made getting around super convenient. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the area!

I had a wonderful stay in Orangeburg, and I can’t say enough good things about Annette and her place. She’s an exceptional host—thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. The space is always spotless and well-maintained, making it feel like a home away from home. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend staying at her spot. You won’t be disappointed!

The view was incredible and completely worth the trip. This condo was comfortable and inviting. The pool was great for the kids and having fishing right there was very convenient. There was a light bulb out over the kitchen table but we made due. The kitchen is small but appliances all seemed new. Having a washer and dryer was great for drying all our beach towels. The outside sitting area needs a little extra attention. We were in the area for a high school graduation so can’t speak to things to do in the area. But the view was awesome and we would definitely consider coming back when we visit family.

We stayed for one night on our trip from FL to PA to take a break from traveling. I wish we would have had more days to stay. The location right off of I-95 next to the lake was so refreshing. Everything was just as described , super clean and decorated nicely. I accidently left a necklace there and they communicated with me immediately and had it in the mail with tracking the same day. We would definitely stay here again !!

We were three sisters traffic out of state to celebrate our mom‘s 94th birthday. We chose the site from the pictures and the unit lived up to our expectations . We had a wonderful stay! The home was beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and had all the amenities we could have hoped for. My favorite part of each day was sitting out back on the patio with my morning coffee, soaking in the peaceful view of the lake—it was the perfect way to start the day. The hosts were very responsive and made everything easy. We would absolutely love to rent here again!

Lori’s Penthouse was such a wonderful retreat for our family. It was comfortable, relaxing, and had a great balcony view which I personally enjoyed my morning coffee with the birds on. Lori has every amenity and accommodation considered for her guests. Anything you might’ve forgotten? She has it covered (but there IS 2 dollar stores and a pharmacy right up the road). Lori was great to work with and we would absolutely book a stay with her again. A fully loaded kitchen and a nice soaking tub in the master suite. We loved every bit of our stay!

The location is amazing. The view is worth every penny. The corner unit is private and we basically lived on the porch! We look forward to staying again in the future!

Nice place to stay and relax. Should have been informed about which boat slip to use. Had a altercation with the condo president about parking my boat. Finally got it straightened out. Dishwasher out of service, burners on top of stove had not been cleaned in awhile. On top of frig dirty. We cleaned these things before we left. Did not want to leave for the next guest. Overall the condo was the best we ever stayed at. Thanks Kelly for sharing your place.
