Elegant room in a traditional Maltese Townhouse

I had scrolled on Airbnb for a while before chosing 116 Townhouse, and I must say I made the absolute right choice ! The house is lovely, everything is well-decorated and it has a lot of tasteful little details. The room has the charm of the ancient and the convenience of the modern at the same time and the light is gorgeous all day long. I've read that many places in Malta are really cold in winter, this is not one of them because the heating system works really well. It was also very nice to have a fridge, a microwave and an electric kettle. Robert was a very good host, he always answered fast and made sure I had everything I needed. He was kind enough to arrange some breakfast last minute for me, because I had read on the internet that he was a marvellous cook. I paid 10 € per breakfast and it's totally worth it. It was different from one day to the other, equally delicious, and very generous in size ! Very close to the house is the Church St Dominic, where some scenes of Game of Thrones were shot. A little further, you can access the center of Rabat, a lovely town with many things to see and cute tiny streets. If you walk about 15 minutes, you'll arrive at Mdina city which is an absolute must-see.

We chose very well for our short stay in Sliema. Just metres away from the busy harbour front/ferry and bar areas you have great choices of restaurants and places to chill. The whole area has a great vibe without intruding on your privacy. The accomodation is well appointed and I would have no hesitation recommending to our friends.

Oliver was an amazing, really helpful, friendly host. Oliver gave us a tour of the neighbourhood when we arrived and gave us plenty of tips and ideas. Oliver made sure we knew what was happening around us , restaurant tips etc. Olivers AirBnB is three storeys high so let him know if you struggle with stairs. It is an original Maltese building unlike so many of the modern apartment blocks. We had stayed previously in a modern space but much preferred Olivers place as was full of character and a better reflection of Malta. We would definitely book with Oliver again if coming back to Malta or St Pauls bay.

Birgit's place is a must if you want a quiet, clean place to yourself. Overall only 5 "hotel rooms" that can all be found angled in the property. there is a little private pool that is great for cooling off and coming down. Right from the start, an attentive employee brought an orange juice as a refreshment. Birgit herself is incredibly friendly, accommodating and gracious. You get great tips and don't have to worry about anything. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. There was even a TV in the property and a full minibar. We were on site with a rental car, with which you can park great in the 1 min piazza. Our highlight: Breakfast in bed or breakfast in general. :) Great recommendation goes out.

A wonderful holiday in Malta was made brilliant by such great accommodation. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was ideal: about a 5 minute walk from the bus stop (where you can get a bus directly to and from the airport), surrounded by restaurants, churches, and attractions, all while being very peaceful and easy to get a good night's sleep. The stay was made amazing by the fact that Joanne was so helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure that our stay was a good one. Would recommend in a heartbeat and looking forward to our next stay here!
