This is a beautiful cottage within the heart of Lancashire farming community. Surrounded by rural views. With two private gardens at your disposal and private secure off road parking. On a country lane, that provides quick access to Blackpool with its night life, attractions and illuminations in September, and only 50 mins to the Lake District. If you want the sea, its not far at all, with large beaches at Blackpool and the lovely upgraded front at Cleveleys is only a short drive away.

My husband and I stayed at Tethera for the long Easter weekend and we loved the cottage. It had everything we needed. Emma really has thought of everything and more. From a binder full of helpful information, well stocked kitchen with some welcome goodies, cozy living room, perfectly fluffy linen to towels for our dog, Yoda. The shower has great water pressure too! We live in London and really liked how peaceful and private it was. Yoda loved all the new scents and the animals around too! We locked ourselves out one day and Emma responded within minutes. We loved the fresh eggs her hens lay and got some back home as well. I would recommend the place to everyone. It’s spotless, extremely comfortable and perfectly placed for all the nice hikes and pretty towns of Lake District to be easily accessible. Perfect cottage with an equally perfect host.

The inside of the cottage was very well maintained and real care was taken for the experience of all visitors. Instructions for arriving were very clear and easy to follow. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

Amazing little cottage. Very minimal but tidy, clean, perfect and had everything we needed even had tea and coffee which was great as we had forgotten to bring that. Me and my partner have two children so it was nice to have an evening of just us two. Out in the wild. The wooded walk was lovely even though it rained and we got soaked. Again for star gazing we got wet and a nice sunrise walk through Ingleton waterfalls trail. Glad we didn’t bring the dog though as was very wet. Overall we had the perfect date night. Thank you

We had such a relaxing holiday, the cottage is exactly as described, had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and very peaceful with plenty of wildlife right on the doorstep. The little beck at the bottom of the garden was just fantastic for our daughter and dog! The location is so close to many busier parts of the Lakes but with lots to explore close by too. A great little retreat! Thank you for having us and we won’t hesitate to recommend Humphrey Cottage.

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

We stayed at Steam train cottage for a week over the Easter holidays and we are so pleased we chose to stay here. The cottage itself is beautifully presented, spotlessley clean, an has eveything need to enjoy a stay in the lakes. You can walk straight out of the cottage into the beautiful scenery and lose yourself for hiurs, soaking up all the lake district has to offer, and its also close enough to local amenities and attractions. We especially enjoyed watching the steam train go past. It made our stay all the more special. We cannot fault our hosts, Gillian and Lucy. They offered clear instructions for check in and check out and for the use of the facilities in the property. We did have a slight issue in that the door to the washer/dryer got stuck, but Gillian was super responsive and sorted the issue out in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, we would love to come back and stay again sometime.
