Charming Private Entrance Rental in AU/Tenleytown

This private suite was created in 2019 and is a perfect rental for visitors of AU Park. It is completely separate and isolated with its own outdoor entrance. It is in a beautiful NW neighborhood of DC with street parking (it is on the visitor to request visitor permit when you book- we are not responsible for tickets if you don't clarify you need a parking permit) and 3 blocks walk to the metro. Our family lives above the rental. We have children whose footsteps are between 7am-9pm.

Excellent stay at Susan's place. Only problem was with GPS directions, which was obviously not our host's fault. The road the house is on is divided and does not connect. When you turn off the main highway, the house should be right there on the corner. If you turn off the main highway and your GPS takes you for a few turns, then this is the wrong end of the road and you will not be able to find the house as the road comes to a dead end and does not connect. I suggest looking it up on the map once you receive the address to clarify how the road does not connect. We gave Susan our ETA as we traveled and she met us at her front door with the key. We had no other interactions with her as we did not need anything additional. We used the Forest Glen Metro to visit Washington, D.C. (approximately 12-15 minutes). Grocery market very close. We were able to cook meals using the pot/pans/utensils provided. Comfortable bed. This converted garage apartment suited our needs & we had no issues.

A great stay for a few days to explore DC! Convenient to use the metro into the city and escape to the countryside at night! Peaceful suite, it was exactly as described and just what we needed. Clear instructions were given for the unit and so many amenities that really were above and beyond! A great find! We would definitely stay again!!

This is definitely the nicest Airbnb that I've stayed at in a long time! I really liked the space, it was really comfortable and felt like the sort of place that someone might actually live in comfortably, rather than a place that was always just intended for short-term stays. I really appreciated that. Everything was super clean and the kitchen was awesome--it had lots of counter space and everything I needed to make dinner with no trouble. And the hosts were very responsive and friendly! I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Lynn is an outstanding host—attentive, thoughtful, and quick to respond to any request. The apartment is compact, cozy, and impeccably clean. Lynn has thoughtfully provided everything you might need during your stay, even pasta, instant noodles, and various seasonings. Both the kitchen and bathroom are fully stocked with cleaning supplies reserved just for guests. The unit is a semi-basement with its own private entrance, giving you nearly complete privacy. Although Lynn’s gym is right next to the bathroom, I was never disturbed; she’s very respectful of her guests' privacy. The only shared area is the laundry room, and she always checks in before using it. Overall, everything was fantastic! I had an absolutely wonderful time here.

The apartment is beautiful and actually more spacious than we thought from the pictures. Joseph has done a great job in renovating and decorating this place. Two good-size bedrooms which was very nice for our family of four. One thing I was less enthusiastic about is that there's little space to sit down with four people to have a meal, but most people probably won't be eating there very often anyway. We liked the neighborhood a lot, quiet and walkable. Joseph was a great host, very easy to communicate with.
