Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

Laurence and Jorge’s home provided a peaceful and beautiful escape in the Douro valley! The surrounding village is small and quaint with lovely views around every corner. The roads are winding, skinny and steep - no different from any other small town or city in Portugal. The home was impeccably clean, the Murphy bed surprisingly comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. A fantastic spot!

Beautiful location in the hills and located in the most gorgeous quaint village. Loved the plunge pool and view. The accomodation wasn’t in isolation ( shared pool and some shared amenities) but felt very comfortable overall

Maria’s place was one of the most beautiful locations I have ever stayed. Photos don’t do justice - the house is even better in person! Cozy and eclectic I spent a milestone birthday here with 3 friends and it was gorgeous. Sunsets are breathtaking, house was very clean. Would recommend only staying here with a car as it is slightly off the grid and a 15 minute drive to Pinhão (where the closest supermarket and restaurants are) perfect location, exceeded our expectations and would 100% recommend. Maria and team helped us with taxi services too as finding a ride in town is no problem but would suggest prearranging if you need a pick up from the house. Such a memorable and beautiful stay!
